The biggest drawbacks of this model over more know name brands is a lack of ABL control to get consistent brightness with the panel auto-dimming. You have to put in "Reader" mode which brings it down to like 150 nits. Outside of that mode, it has a pretty aggressive Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL). Most of the bigger brands like LG, ASUS, MSI, Samsung etc,, have an option to disable it in all modes. The other shortcoming is the lack of Burn-In warranty. There is no listing at all on KTCs website about Burn-In being covered and only a 1yr warranty overall. Others like LG and Samsung offer 3yr with Burn-In coverage.
I have DCR on my current monitor which seems the same type of idea as ABL. It auto adjusts the brightness based on what's on the screen. I turn it off since I don't see how it makes any sense to have the screen brightness changing. Unless there were setting to change it when certain things happened on the screen based on your user preference.
Bro, the color grading on this vid is a bit off compared to some of your other videos. it looks a bit washed out whilst also looking a little too blue at times
Nice monitor and congrats on baby! I'm on the fence with OLED monitors as I mainly game on a LG C1 for both PS5 and my 7900xt PC. I do like my OLEDs but I also am intrigued by ultra wide monitors.
@@EverydayElectronics234k isn’t a necessity and it puts huge strain on your device. Most PC’s can’t even run 4k optimally without sacrificing performance. 1440 is the sweet spot between graphics & performance
Not sure wheter to get this or the CoolerMaster GP27Q.. The GP27Q is a mini-led, but it wont suffer from burn in, and is 300 dollars cheaper in my region. Is the OLED worth the extra 300 dollars? I know it has lower response time as well as higher contrast and all that, im just not sure if its worth the extra money especially since I plan on using my monitor with bright HDR and I often have the same layout and dont want to hide my taskbar and have a black background. If OLED didnt suffer from burn in I would 100% go for the OLED one
I haven't had the chance to test the Asus one but compared to my LG version it's definitely brighter. The LG one is still excellent however it doesn't have the heatsink both KTC and Asus have.
Mine has a weird issue were the screen doesn't fill the monitor instead leaves more bezel on the left then the right then it normal... Cant seem to find anyone else with this issue online. perhaps its not the monitor since i switched to an amd 7900 xtx at the same time i got this monitor.
@@shikaotewarrior yep im on an lg-gp850-b right now (1440p ips 165hz) but eventually plan to upgrade to an oled but gotta wait for them to come down in price
Yo! It comes with these tiny 4 screws, the silver ones. You need to screw those in first. Then you need to attach your monitor arm or wall mount bracket to the the silver screw mounts. from there you've just gotta attach to the monitor arm or wall mount. I do it in this video actually.
I like the look of this monitor but quickly looking here in the uk the lg oled is around £20 more would take more of a saving to get me to buy this monitor. And that’s if there’s no delivery fees. I’m in the market for a new monitor just don’t know what ultra wide or oled or even ips. My tn panel needs retiring to a second screen 😂😂 they don’t deliver to the uk it seems like

Yes but they are compleatl different . LG panels are W-OLD . Alienwares will be QD-Oled and they suffer from different kind of problem on top of the Price . Lets be real most peopl dont have the pc to run anygame at 1440p 360hz or will spend 1k pluse for a oled panel that will have burning in risks specialy QD-Oled sufferc heavy on the burn in front
Good luck running it even past 240hz lol. 😂. It’s a very future proof monitor thing for sure. Valorant will probably play very well or any easy running competitive games
Newer qdoled have some the best colors. They also don’t burn in faster with the gen 3 panels😂 if they do they have a 3 year warranty compared to Lgs 2 year
Sorry for the color grading here. I’m still trash. Leave a like so I can feel better. ❤️🩹
nah it's got that nice vignette asthetic to it
Are you still using this monitor today? Thinking of buying one.
@@HolyMully Yes actually. I have a secondary setup that utilizes this monitor, happy to use it daily. Value is simply too good

Do you still have your lg 42 oled? I am wondering how this one holds up against that size for productivity especially spreadsheets

I thought it was my setup at first.
In the video, he says he doesn't typically calibrate his displays 😂

Hey man, this was a really great review, keep up the great work!
Also if you liked DBZ and Demon Slayer you might like Jujutsu Kaisen :)
The hdmi 2.1 is really not a catch because with that 1440p resolution you don’t need it.
If you use console and pc it comes in handy and can receive a 4 signal so more helpful then you think

Is the KTC G27P6 g-sync? It says it is, but the Nvidia control panel says it’s not compatible (using a 3080ti card).
I just got one on Amazon for 599$, couldn't hold off no longer
How is it now any issues at all?
hi nice video. Do you recommend this monitor to expand my alinware laptop with an RTX 4080? Thank you
Love the review keep it up man just bought the monitor saw on good Black Friday deal 👌 hope it’s as good as you say 🔥🔥🔥
could you already test it & do you like it ?
My only concern with this monitor is that other reviews have mentioned some operating systems issues that can be annoying.

With newer oleds having all the burn in prevention you’ll be fine
Have you noticed any ghosting and blur when gameing? Because the current VA monitor i have has really bad black smearing and ghosting.
Oled has no ghosting and some the fastest response times
Thanks man! Can you see a difference between the KTC, LG and Asus panels?
I haven't had the chance to test the Asus one but compared to my LG version it's definitely brighter. The LG one is still excellent however it doesn't have the heatsink both KTC and Asus have.
There cant be a big differents other then cooling aka higher brightness becouse they all us LG oled screens
@@xythiera7255 yeah the KTC and asus both have heatsinks so they can get brighter. I dig the added nits for sure
They all use the same LG panel
It doesn’t matter if they use the same panel 😂what matters is the company releasing the panel and how they calibrate it and if it has heatsink or fan
Any issues with screen tearing using this monitor with a PS5 since there's no HDMI 2.1 port to support V-Sync?
Oooph, that HDMI thing is lame for the price. You can get LG on sale sometimes for close to the price of these.
This was $525 for Black Friday and cyber Monday
Does this monitor have a sub pixel layout or a standard rgb pixel layout?
Sub-pixel

i say bezel cuz with oled if its black on that side it looks seemless with the bezel
man I can't wait for some good budget OLED 1440p monitors around the $400 mark.
