I get the simply sewing magazine by post I got the sewing pattern and I love 😅❤😂
I have just cancelled my subscriptions to the magazines, on balance when I really evaluate the patterns, I have actually made very few of them, and usually ended up gifting them, I tried to look at it subjectively with regards to usefulness and cost, the outcome was, I would be better off just purchasing patterns I actually wanted and would make as soon as they arrived. I have also found with the increase in popularity of sewing at home in recent months/year or so, there has become a need to fill magazines up, I am also a knitter and found this was the case with knitting magazines a few years ago, adopting the format that we would make anything just to be making. As you said how many tote bag patterns does anyone need. Thank you for taking the time to share.

I agree, I don’t usually like love sewing, but I do like those patterns 👍🏻😊
Totally agree about Simply Sewing, I think the two tone dress is pretty dire. My favourite bit is the mindful makes but that alone doesn't justify the magazine. Glad my subscription is at a special deal rate!
Always fun to hear your thoughts on the magazines and patterns showcased! I subscribe to the American sewing/quilting and embroidery magazines mostly to support the industry! I rarely make the garments that they show. I do get great ideas from the magazines though.
Hi Adele, thank you for your honest opinion about the magazines. I have bought (using Sainsbury’s nectar points) Simply Sewing . As an older lady I preferred the pattern for the dress this month, (just shows you can’t please everyone all of the time)😂 Great vlog. Happy sewing take care 🧵👋🏻
Omg I saw this pop up and have been counting the hours till I got home to watch! Love your video so much. Agree re styling on the Simply Sewing dress but wonder if it would be better in a nicer fabric? You know I love a waist band!! I like the coin purse for a selfless sew! My mum would love that!!! That McCalls dress looks good but how many summer 👗 do I need?! Gulp......!!!!

Great review again. I’m the same with this months patterns. Have a similar TNT pj pattern and I had mixed thoughts on the dress pattern, think it’s the sleeves, think I’d hack to short cuffed sleeves if I made this up. For some reason I didn’t get the booklet, looks good, but mine are too old for that now anyway 😅. Thanks Adele

Must admit that I stopped buying this magazine at their last increase in price mainly because I realized that patterns were being repeated. I felt that I wasn’t getting as much pleasure reading it also. Changing the subject, it was good to see you at the NEC last Saturday, you did look stunning in your gorgeous purple dress that you wore last year. Congratulations.

Have you read the independent magazine, Pattern Pages I think it’s called. No free patterns but a really good read. To be honest I never really like the free patterns anyway and have plenty to be getting on with!
Hiya, yes I subscribe to that magazine too it is a good one but I’m not renewing my subscription as I like a paper magazine xx
It does come in paper format too. I have bought them from Smiths. I used to like Threads but as some who has been sewing a long time things become repeated so often.
Do you find Fibre Mood magazine in your stores? What do you think of it?
its not in normal stores but fabric stores do stock them. I love it but its a pain to trace out x
