- Kenny Wallace is famous for driving the Red Dog and Square D cars in the glory days of NASCAR. This building in Concord NC is the former home of FILMAR Racing, where those cars were built! Kenny was actually the one who found the building and started cleaning it out while the team moved over from Nashville! Check out @KennyWallace36 Channel! In this video we bring Kenny back to the building to find out what it looks like today and absorb the memories it sparks for him!

When he was in that post race show on Speed. I would literally watch it just to here him break down the race and listen to his opinions on the on/off track action. Those live shows were some fun times especially when fans were interacting havinv signs waving trying to get the camera's attention.

A year late but----
Wow what a flashback. I was in this building in 1994ish to hook up with a friend that worked for Filmar racing in an effort to get me hook up with Red Line oil. I was shown a few things about their oils and saw a butt load of 9" Ford rear end chunks sitting upside down in 5 gallon buckets with RedLine gear oil still stuck to some of them after years of sitting. I also remeber the nut and bolt bins Keeny mentioned.We ended up getting a sponsorship with Red Line and we recieved pallets of oils. Ahh, good times!!

I love how your just hanging out with some of the biggest names of NASCAR from my favorite era of the mid-late 90's. Feels like you're buddies with them all and they are just down to hang out and talk about old memories of racing for those lesser known teams. When I'm down the TH-cam rabbit hole of old races, very likely its from the late 90's. That Square D car, either the #81 or #55, is just one of those Iconic, yet simple paint schemes.

tell ya what I love and what connects with me the most about these stories when you took Kenny to the Red Dog Busch Series shop and he walked out and stood there reminds me so much of me as a kid going to shops with my dad
The story after Kenny left this race shop and went to Andy Petree racing is why (when I had all these people telling me that I had what it took to go to work in Nascar) is why I never listen to those people urging me to go to Nascar. Along with I already got plenty of time on a broom, and I most definitely wasn't going to be put on a broom there in Nascarland.

Another great one of old NASCAR history stories. Tennis not so much but when Kenny's on a role you don't want to stop him:-). So for the record Bjorn Borg is the tennis superstar from Sweden. Boris Becker is the tennis great from Germany I suspect he may be thinking of who had some trophy (assets) disclosure troubles in bankruptcy court.
Kenny is "at peace" with life. Many of us are OK with that.

I remember in the garage at Talladega 1998 July race morning the 81 team was changing engine in a frantic rush "they still had to go thru tech etc and this was about 9:30 or 10am and already hot .... Fil was in a brown and tan checker pattern flannel looking suit coat, tie and hair greased back standing in front of the car watching the crew change engines..... I took a picture ... I remember thinking how hot he had to be ... This was race dale & bill tumbled down front stretch .... The car in the museum in GA.

Another Great video, I don't remember why I always thought SquareD was Grocery store chain, I remember that sponsor and all the drivers that drove their cars. Funny story, 1989 or 90 about that time I got Hooked I mean crazy consumed with Nascar and alot of my co-workers at that time were to , my driver was Rusty Wallace driving the Miller Genuine Draft Pontiac. I started drinking Miller Genuine Draft 🍺 beer, I went out and bought a brand new Pontiac Sunbird. I couldn't afford a Grand Prix. Then Kenny started driving the Red Dog Beer car. I switched to drinking that beer but remained a Rusty Wallace fan. Red Dog beer wasn't the best tasting beer. When Rusty switched to Miller Lite I hated that beer so I switched to Coors Lite, Rusty was still my driver not Is Sterling Martin. Sorry for the long winded comment.
