Sometimes I get a little sad watching Juniors show. The show is fantastic, but when I hear all these great stories with all these great people from the past and it's all stuff I remember, knowing it will likely never have that same feel going forward just sucks. It's just not the same anymore. The 80s, 90s, and early 2000s were some great times for me in Nascar. Love Kenny Wallace!
yeah it sucks. I tried following everything this season but lost interest. It didn’t help when Rutledge Wood would get first dibs with the winner while the excited crew has to wait behind the wall while Rutledge asks dumb questions like “how does it feel to win?”. Then they don’t really even show the winner get out of the car in victory lane. I don’t know man. I digress.
I've found myself watching old races on TH-cam instead of trying to watch it now. The short track night races from the early 2000s are like chicken soup for the soul. Some of those races are still seared into my memory almost 20 years later. I'll never have that connection with modern NASCAR.
I feel u man but it cant be the same , people were dieing , and as entertaining as it was , if u lost ur father and had to watch it im sure you would want change too , nascar has changed alot , but atleast the racers familys dont think its a total bloodbath demolishion derby anymore
I wish Kenny would go back on TV. He was the reason I watched the pre-race show that was on Speed Channel. He and Jimmy Spencer were great together! Dale Jr, you need to bring Kenny back on and tell more stories.
He was good on TV. He said the travel and hotel stays weekly took a toll on him. Now he enjoys hauling his modified around the country doing what he loves. Check out his Official Facebook page if you aren't already. Funny stuff on there.
@@CSDonohue11 I lost a lot of what little respect was there for Spencer after he was on Jr’s podcast. Totally copped out on owning up to what he said and addressing it. Jr winning in 01 was Jr showing he could drive better than anyone when he really wanted it. Of course all the teams were creative with the rules and some drivers may have even gone a little easy on that race to try to let him up front for a chance to win, but who’s going to admit that? There was a respect there among those guys and Spencer completely tarnished it by his comment. At least he came on the podcast but that was a very understated display of class on Jr’s part by just letting it slide after that. He realized Spencer is just a mad dog on his way out and he’s just running his mouth and nothing out of it means anything
I met Kenny at a gas station. He was about to drive off with his sunglasses on his roof. I flagged him down and he probably thought I wanted to fanboi. I grabbed his glasses off his roof and handed then to him through the window. He said , "man, you're my hero." So, boys...I'm your hero's hero.
Both Rusty, Kenny, and The Earnhardts are humble and honest. I respect them alot and relate to how they were raised. Lots of Talent and Awesome stories.
Kenny Wallace is one of those guests that makes the show come alive and makes you feel like you’re in the room. Several guests have done that so far. Great stuff to watch!
Kenny Wallace may not have won a Cup race, but hearing him talk about how hard he worked to become a racer and all the different things he had to go through made me respect his hard-working, no quit attitude. I hope Kenny is doing well in retirement.
Man, Kenny is so right! If you ever get a little money people think you always had it easy. Like it's impossible for you to grow up broke and make something of yourself. I grew up broke but now at 39, I've got a little something and there's people that I've known for decades saying crap to me like, "but you don't get it". I grew up in a little trailer park in Alabama until I was 21! I've only lived in the nice home I have now for 8 years! What dont I get?!
The Dale Jr download and all of the Dirty Mo Media stuff we see weekly (and specials) is true art. I love the realness you get with everyone who comes on and love the production quality. Best thing Jr has done post-driving (aside from the 1 race a year he does of course)
I love Kenny !! This guy tells it like it is , no BS , no sugar coat'n nothing . The real deal . May not have been the most successful cup driver , but a real class guy imo . Great interview guys !!!
He might not have won in cup . But I think of him as one of the greats . How much winning would any modern cup star do against dale sr ,Darrell, rusty ,martin, bodine , Richmond , gordon, jarret ect ! Only 1 guy can win any race and those fields were stacked and the good money was spent elsewhere ! So rock on Kenny for having a career and feeding your family while still being a house hold name . Not many can do that . He does it with pride !
He won some Busch (now Xfinity) races and he was always the guy people wanted to fill in when their driver got hurt, he didn't have a terrible career at all, maybe in a better car he could have won something.
I bet you have many good memories as Kenny too, it is pod cast's like these that makes me remember my dad and his brothers stories they would talk and laugh about .Please get Kenny back he is funny, yet serious . He see's things from the under dog side of it and can still laugh about it.
I can't say I enjoy watching these more than anything else. You guys get people to talk about things, they normally wouldn't talk about. Thank for sharing with all of us.
The Wallace’s were the top racing family out of St. Louis! Their dad was the greatest at the old valley park speedway! Miss watching the Wallace’s in NADCAR! Kenny is the Herminator!!!
spencer kenney Great job Spencer!!! Not one soul mentions that and your correct, that square D Chevy was owned by Andy Pettrie pushed Earnhardt to 76 win & his last Wallace didn’t drive no more, wanted to much money Lol...Shame Earnhardt didn’t push him.All well Thanks for memory lane.
During the early 2000's he also would draft with Jr. a bunch as well. It was some of those early 2000 Talladega races where Jr. would dominate. One race they put Kenny in Waltrips old Aarons car cause he was racing the Napa car for DEI. They gave Kenny a DEI engine & he was right up there in front with Jr. & Michael Waltrip
I think that that was possibly the most heartfelt story I have heard …. No pulled punches ...No PC ...that was just a great interview …. Thanks Dirty Mo …..
TOTALLY LOVED this interview. I know what it is to have family make you feel bad, even when you still love them. Kenny wish I could give you a BIG HUG. Sticks and stones may not break my bones, but words you never forget
Herman the German. Another thing Nascar put an end to. That was his nickname and he liked it. I could listen to Herman all day. Wouldn't you just love to sit down and have a beer with him? I loved the tv show he had years back.
OMG I so loved this! I miss Kenny on TV. He is so funny and so good at what he does. He is a fresh breath of fresh air in the NASCAR world. Jr. is as well and this is one of my favorite interviews. Next Jr. should bring on Ken Schrader! Love the interviews with the "old school" NASCAR!!
Damn, Kenny Wallace... what a great guy. Not sure why he's no longer around on raceday, but he has a wonderful personality. NASCAR needs a regular dose of KW
My mom used to work at a Square D factory here in good ol Indiana, so he was automatically my childhood hero! I used to get all excited just seein that blue and yellow #81/55 on the tv screen. I wish the best for him regardless, hes just a joy to watch on tv and probably even more in person!
Being new to nascar and coming from the UK & not up to date with the history of nascar (sorry) but i could spend hours listening to the 3 of you talking
I am a fan of jr since his Busch days. I watched every race. Stayed true through the good times and tough times. The only thing that makes me think twice about being a jr fan is the whole ky football player situation. Not gonna explain it people can look it up their self. I just wanted to say that’s the only thing I have that makes me think twice. Podcasts are awesome keep it up
I always liked Kenny. This interview just confirmed why even more. Never scene another driver that appreciated where he was and how he got there more than Kenny.
This has been the best podcast in Nascar by a mile and I'm afraid they'll never be one that's close unfortunately so I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it why I can. 🦅🇺🇸🦅
Kenny , you came by pre race in Darlington waving in back pic up truck , old turn 1 , I stood up row 12 , pointed at you , you pointed at me , I yelled " Kenny you the man " you just big ol smile riding by ...Thankyou Kenny

Jr. you gotta do more with Kenny Wallace!! One of the best shows ever!!!
“This is accurate AND true...”
Lol!!! Love Kenny and miss his commentary during race week.
P.S. the shot in the ass with diamonds comment is priceless

Mike Eddy is one hell of a driver. Have VCR tapes of a lot of his races through the 90s.
Mike Davidson...along with Bob Senneker and the Bluebird #84. That was some fun racing, watching ASA back then.
