    What are your thoughts on this one? Have you tried the board game version Troyes?

      Love the board game and gotta say enjoyed this one ... It has nothing to do with Troyes other than the name but I did enjoy it ... Thank you for yet another wonderful play through :-)

      @Mom Gamer It totally has nothing to do with the original game lol. Purely the artwork 😂

    Wow I REALLY enjoyed this game. Picked it up the other day on a whim and didn't think much of it but after learning it is a very tight, crunchy filler! I'm all about tighter game experiences this year.

    Thanks for another great playthrough Naveen and Monique! Also, have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend over there in the USA :) On a side note, I just picked up Cabo here in Europe based on your videos and that little game is SO MUCH FUN haha!

    Just picked this one up and excited to try it out.
    I’d be interesting in seeing a list of your favorite Roll & Writes. 😁

    Totally agree in the comparison to Fleet! Similar decision making, even if this one is a little lighter weight.

    Is it me or is Naveen forgetting that he could use his yellow dice to build, not only to get money? "I can't use this 1 yellow cause I'm maxed out on money". Well yes, but you also did not build any 1 yellow building! :P

    This game really fell off my radar. I’ve been playing Three Sisters lately for the roll and write itch

    A nice game, though not really my cup of tea. If you are interested in another roll&write with similar complexity, I’d recommend Rolling Realms by Jamie Stegmaier. It is completely free and is based on all the games released so far by Stonemaier Games. It also has resource management that allows you to adjust dies and even create new ones. It doesn’t take long and it even has a web app, which you can find here:

    Could you please make a video about top "light" solo games that don't rely on luck... (or at least give me some recommendations here instead of making a video).
    What I mean by light I mean NO Mage Knight or D&D stuff that take 4 hours to finish... I'm looking for games that take 30 min to play, maybe an hour at the most.
    They don't necessarily have to be primarily solo games; they could be multi-player as long as they have a solo mode obviously.
    A lot of people recommend Friday or Onirim but I feel like luck plays a huge factor depending on the cards you draw and their order.
    Examples of some of my favorite kind of games are: Stratego, Clue/Cluedo, and Codenames... so mostly "classics" but I don't mind modern ones as long as they don't have a luck factor (or at least very minimal), and don't take hours to finish.
    Thanks!

      Hello, this reply is very late but I think the game Santorini might fit the bill for you! I've been playing the iPad campaign version against the AI (solo mode). The replayability is insane with dozens of variable god powers. No luck involved, and games are very quick, like 10-15 min each but I usually end up playing more than 1 🙈

      Maracaibo or Port Royale for a shorter game. Both are solid...but I guess you could consider them Caribbean vs "pirate".

    I am a fan of Troyes, but I think I will pass on this filler. With COVID, have been playing less and less fillers lately.

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's fair, the game honestly has nothing to do with Troyes lol. Does that mean you are playing bigger games instead of fillers?

    • @johnhedberg9728
      @johnhedberg9728 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeforeYouPlay Correct. I love fillers when game group is together to begin the night if we are waiting for people to arrive or in between games as we wait for other groups to wrap up. With no game nights at the current time, it is just my wife and I and if we are going to sit down and play a game we prefer bigger games. Hopefully, game nights will be back in the near future. Thanks for your responses and great videos!
