This song reminds me of my step dad "Ronnie Curry" who played the big base in a group called the new travellers. He was a lovely man who i really miss, he was more of a dad to me than my birth father ever was. I miss you uncle Ronnie RIP

I well remember this song from when we would sing it at the new year and most family get-to-gethers, brings back so many fond memories ae ma ain folk.
I sang this as a child but we sang it in Gaelic. Glenlyon school in the early 1950's Ronsie
