This song gives me fond memories of my mother who was much beloved with nut brown skin, black hair ,blue eyes, always remembered and beautiful to me and many others who loved her dearly, rest in peace, beautiful woman.

This song reminds me of my step dad "Ronnie Curry" who played the big base in a group called the new travellers. He was a lovely man who i really miss, he was more of a dad to me than my birth father ever was. I miss you uncle Ronnie RIP

I sang this as a child but we sang it in Gaelic. Glenlyon school in the early 1950's Ronsie

Lovely - this tune is also in the "College of Piping Tutor Vol 1- Beginning the Bagpipes" - The Green Tutor - (Glasgow, Scotland) as The Brown Haired Maiden with similarities and differences. The Corries sing it well, and with harmony!
