Adrian and Tony have certainly aged gracefully- and sound great. Vai and Danny are serving the music and retaining their own voices to boot. This is gonna be white hot by October.
I hope so, I saw Vai recently with Satriani, and have seen Belew solo and with the Remain in the Light tour, I have tickets to see them (beat tour) in DC and RVA in the next few weeks, and am looking forward to the shows,
I saw the show last night in Napa, and it was FIRE!!! Second night of the tour Seeing them again in November, and I can't WAIT to see this amazing spectacle again!
It’s a special song. It’s a feeling, ya know? I loved the Live at Frejus version of this. I had it on videotape 25 years ago. I watched that entire concert over and over so many times, but this song was probably my favorite.
Thank you! Adrian puting most singers of his generation to shame. No backing tracks, no autotune, original key. Sounds pretty much the same as four decades ago.
I take it you have not seen Gabriel lately…..Annette Peacock….Jon Anderson….Jeff Lynn….Bob Dylan….should I just keep gong or will your small tiny compartmentalized brain overload and cause you more pain then normal.
@@PeterSokol-bl5vz Probably a nicer way to say that but those are also good examples. I forgot when I generalize it comes across as insulting to other singers.
@@PeterSokol-bl5vz Small and tiny, huh? Could have mentioned those singers without being so condescending. Bob Dylan a great singer? Really? Oh, and it's "...more pain THAN normal". How does that feel?
Last night in San Jose, my pal and I were concerned Vai wouldn't be able to keep his ego in check & perform his key role in this collaboration. We both came away pleasantly surprised & highly pleased.
@@chasdawes7541 I don't think it's ego. I am biased, but I think he just like to freak out visually because he doesn't sing. I was *very* relieved to see Vai leave his guitar face and wild costumes at home. I even LIKE Steve doing Steve when he is solo. It just would not have been appropriate here. I am as surprised and please as you.
@@chasdawes7541 Nah. Check Vai when he plays with Zappa. The point is he would play the "pyrotechnic" guitar parts, but everyone with Zappa was on a tight leash, and ultimately he was very skilled at serving the music as a whole. Seeing "ego" in personal music projects spearheaded by Vai would be the point of getting an artist to produce an album. But that's just my opinion.
It's funny to see Danny's shy awkwardness when Adrian came out knowing that Adrian and Bill use to dance to the intro while playing. Can't wait to see these guys live. Saw Crimson in Philly in 81' Discipline tour and every album after.
Great show!!! I dig vai kinda going back to his Zappa roots. He wasn’t “the star” for this, and I think was the best playing I’ve ever heard, and I have whole new respect for Carey, the time signatures are so insane and he played like this was end of tour, and not first night
Thank you for posting this. They sound awesome together. Adrian's voice is still incredible. What a fantastic show this must have been. I love each one of these guys AND I love King Crimson.
Not only does Adrian look, sound, and play great, but I'm amazed by his manoeuverability and energy, bouncing around the stage, down on his knees with his guitar generating feedback, and up again. The dude's nearly 75 and looks and acts half that. Amazing.
It’s great to see Vai stretched - also very clever to tap the insane Fripp cross-picking parts, I don’t think even Fripp could pick every note anymore @@amanhismusicareneverparted5366 great t
@@ashotvoskan Waiting Man was the 10th song performed, but the first of the second set (after the intermission). The band was playing off a planned set list, not replying to audience requests.
What a mind-blowing show. I feel fortunate to have been here in San Jose to watch these musicians put on one hell of start to what will be--I'm sure--a great tour. If you can, you want to see these gents share their magic.
Looking through and listening to these songs now. Thank you for sharing and doing such a great recording job! While a huge fan as a teen of these three albums, somehow today the sonic guitar noises from Belew aren't as tolerable to these olde bass player ears of mine😅 But the melodies and arrangements overall are still wonderfully appreciated!
This is absolutely wild to watch. It's the bones of the song but then it's so different and fresh. Pissed I missed tickets to Denver, it sold out fast I think!
Was this the opening song? So nice that they did the percussion duet at the beginning...maybe the groove section from 4:00 did not really work that well (my impression)
Yes that part begin different ... and also look Vai awkward for a while, like still learning. only a fanatic fanatic would notice that and that in certain parts it is really uncomfortable... and that one section was done with Tapping... and that Tony Levin is the only one with the white jackets from that 1982 tour
2 EX- Zappa's band Members, One legendary Bassist, One of the best Drummers of our generation..... 10/10!!!
This is History in the making !

Their performances will be simply searing with a tad more seasoning.
I am SO pleased that Vai is being Vai and yet respecting the original vibe. We've forgotten what Vai the bandmate even looks like.

Why am I crying?!
cause you love great music!
Because the decades of talent on that stage shows in every note. This is beyond magical!
You're not crying, I am

Adrian ‘s voice hasn’t changed a bit. Sounds fantastic.
I don’t remember it being so flat
Thank you!

Him and Corey Glover are the only ones who haven't lost a step.

I'm not a huge Vai fan, but I love how here he's just another player. He has the daunting task of replacing Fripp and he does great.

One of the most beautiful KC songs, the drum and bass intro is just divine
This was so satisfying, on so many levels. What a great night we were blessed to have.
Levin is from muthafrickin' outta space! Love all these guys

Drummer from my favourite band Tool plays with musicians from my second favourite band King crimson!

See you there...
@@shofbeavers8329 of course!
They're doing the standing drum pad intro for Waiting Man! And Belew is sounding great!
My dream is to see them at The Royal Albert Hall and bring Robert Fripp on to guest on one or two songs.

SIT DOWN AUDIENCE! A HOLY MOMENT OF PARADIDDLE PARADISE!!!!

And so the tour begins!!!
Soo many memories ..... all these years .... - all those stories..... damn , here comes the tears......
Loved this 40 years ago with Bruford and SO looking forward to see Carey
Awesome. Hoping they are coming to the UK soon. Belew/Crimson was a major influence on our music. (Chris, The Perrinormal)

Chills. Remembering them opening a show in June 1984 on the Pier in NYC with this, sublime.
Same - they opened with this at Camp Fortune in ottawa in 1984. One of the greatest outdoor music events ever!!

The outro on this might be the coolest thing ever committed to record
this is just unbelievable !!! truly the most super bands ever created playing masterpieces....

Made the hair in the back of my hair STAND UP!
I wasn't ready for Crimson first time around except "in the court". Different music for different stages of life, I guess. This is great.
You lucky, lucky bastards! 🙂
74 and Adrian is still able to kneel in front of his amp like that? I'm impressed. I'd have a hard time with that, and I'm only 50!
Holey Moley:
First few minutes: They make it look easy and fun; But it is actually virtusoso and having fun!!
Dat king Crimso 🌞

That King Crimson
Pretty clean audio considering
Danny is the real deal

Dani needs the Blue men with their monster to mix it up😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
Steve Vai plays Robert Fripp's parts using his own technique and licks too. Sounds great but I wish it was a little louder.
