I've been on a neptunes old footage binge lately. I'm just now realizing what an impact they had on a 7-13 year old me. To this day I hear neptunes songs from the 2000s and I feel like this was the pinnacle of modern music across all genres. I gotta throw timbaland name out too. He was on fire at the time with his production across all genres. Must be a VA thing everybody out of that state was dope.
Yep. His management shot down some of their records before they even got to him. By the time it got to Usher, MJ tried to steal it back, but Usher wouldn't let it go 😂
theory is good for foundation to build on but in my experience and many others, its not absolutely necessary. I use mostly Fruity Loops software right now, but I started on the Roland Fantom X6 keyboard. If I were just starting out making music, I'd get into conversations and meetings with your local church musicians. Sorry so long winded but lastly, I'd use a lot of my time sampling and recreating so you can find out the mannerisms of music so to speak. Good luck my friend
People don't realize that alot of producers stockpile so much music before it's even considered for release, that by the time it's put out (or not), they've moved on musically 5 times over. That plays alot into several repetitive sounding beats coming out after a few hit it big.
The Neptunes definitely DID reproduce their sounds many times, between 98-2002 alot of their stuff sounded similar. Too many to name, but it worked. Its how they developed a sound
They had a signature yes a lil sound that goes "yup thats the neptunes" however alot of their music you could tell was formed by the influence of the things that inspire them; and also the person in the room. They werent afraid to play around, take risk and be weird. They forever stay students to music...and that is why chad and pharrells are masters of the craft
Hi Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?
Could they make a documentary/docu-series of pharrell and n.e.r.d. between the 90s until their seeing sounds album or even happy p... a clash between what noisey did for asap and that Netflix look mom I'm flying flick
alll the way from honduras .. Neptunes does need this we got N.E.R.D dropped neptunes needs to produce with jay z again and snoop maybe a collab between them
This IV is very necessary and it important. 1.P was always about controlling "his" sound. 2. Hov has always been the pusher 3. Him and Chad are tough....thick as thieves.
Hubiera estado muy vergas que Pharrell Williams hubiera echo una colaboración con Michael Jackson y Nas juntos pero lastima que Michael Jackson ya no está
Mike wasn't signing no new other record deal. He was. His goal was to take over Sony's records.. and it's only two top record. Labels is Sony and universal now. I believe if Mike w never said nothing about him taking over Sony. He was still be here. That's my conspiracy theory

I couldn't have said it better my guy
“U Don’t Have to Call was for Michael 5 years ago”- this interview was 2002, so they presented it to him in 1997. Crazy
I still can't get over that they had that incredible track done in 97. They were really from another planet.
Usher sounds just like Mike on there too. Amazing
That's crazy they kept that timeless beat for 5 years!!
Yep. His management shot down some of their records before they even got to him. By the time it got to Usher, MJ tried to steal it back, but Usher wouldn't let it go 😂
@@bladebrown4191 MJ wanted more Superthug and Oh no Neptunes anyway

Man had it not been for Pharrell, I wouldn't even care about music! I make beats because of this music and life genius. Long Live Pharrell
PompeyBeats just a question do you have to learn music theory to make beats also what equipment should I get if im just starting out

Ngoy Umba But no, Fam-Lay wasn't a part of NERD but is signed to Star Trak.

Interviewers are supposed to ask the hard questions
Pharrell is Half Phillipino am I Right?
