Pete. Nothing wrong with keeping females. I like to eat walleye 😃. You’re not going to catch many males trolling this time of year. Most are on the reefs making baby walleye. Funny how it’s ok to keep them after they have spawned in the summer months but not now!!!! Doesn’t make a bit of difference. Dead is dead. Sure hope my charter Captain doesn’t throw them back. Good chance you’ll have nothing to clean. Also, angler harvest is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of keeper sized fish in Lake Erie. Let’s go 🎣🎣🎣. Tight lines Tubers 😃
@@jackmasters9953 Jack...That's where the Upper Midwest states are smarter than Ohio by not fishing for walleyes until their spawning season is over. As an 84 year old skipper, I prefer to error on the side of conservancy. I still vividly recall 1959 when Lake Erie died , Capt Pete
Make sure to take a peak at our how to vids Playlist in addition to the short on the lake vids, weve covered a wide array of rigging and techniques that should help out
I like cruise control also in Michigan for salmon fishing. The trick is to dial the kicker into about the midpoint of the minn kota. Then you just gotta watch currents on your fishhawk and use the minn kota to fine tune the speed and direction
what happen to saying what crank you are using and how fast you are going and how far back your crank are running back for the boards. Like the video but would love more info.
We try to mix up the info and do the things that help you each and every time out. Line out and color changes day to day if not hr to hr and isn't the stuff that really helps you catch more
I'm from Port Colborne live in Canada I fished the tournaments here on our side it seems to me we always fish the same areas even though you're from the states and I'm from Canada I noticed sometimes you guys use spoons I was wondering what body baits and spoons difference wise is our fish seem to hit more divers and body baits and worm harnesses depending on the time of the year could you please let us know a little bit about how you spoons while trolling for walleye I watch all your videos thanks Dave
If your fishing by yourself and not breaking the law (running only 3 rods) it is actually easier to watch 3 boards if they are on one side only. Especially if your boat is a tiller steer as you have to sit mostly sideways. So put all three to the side you can see easier.
Great video! At what water temp do you start switching over to crawler harnesses?? Is that also when the biters start making their way to cleaner water?
I enjoyed watching your video and I can’t wait to see what is coming up next. I also have a channel so if you check it out be sure to drop a comment and let me know if you enjoyed it..
OMG the move where you reel in inside board a bit then freespool it so it goes behind fish on outside board was slick
first video, and New SUB brother. I will be out on Erie tomorrow for the first time in years.
Love it when the lake is like that!
Thanks for the tips and videos
May 10th cannot get here soon enough. I can't wait!!!

Glad to see those female walleyes being released. That's a capt that you want to fish with.

What kind of clips are on those boards? Are they offshore boards?
Is there a special charger needed for the lithium batteries???
Depends on battery and charger....the minn kota precision charger set to agm works woth my dakota lithium
East coast Erie boys like Joe Papalia, and Bobby Henton, just lip them 9 pounders like KVD. Nets are cool too...
If fishing boards by yourself and only 1 side of the boat is hitting do you put all your boards on 1 side of the boat
Sure

I don't pay attention to water temp as much as when fish are post spawn and in deeper water for the switch
@@Bigwaterfishing thank you!!
