Plan is for my truck to be in one of these videos eventually 🤘🏻 Alex’s truck is badass 🔥 He’s put a lot of blood and sweat in to that thing. Those 4.5s are 🤤
U want the silt fence poles spaced so that the fence gets pull out of ground but doesn't break, same w/ the silt fence posts. They need to b 4 by 4 & b atleast 2ft in the ground or more as well.
I know it costs a few bucks, but maybe try out some wireless mics on each of you 'cause i couldn't hear a word you guys said outside in the breeze four feet away from each other.Wish I had 'cause I really wanted to know about how/what was built out in the back half of the truck.Huge fan o' the channel.Keep 'em comin'!
I own a truck almost identical to this one and this is what I would do if I had a dream build so clean love that it still has cruise, ac and a stock dash lmao how awesome bro!
Sooner or later some1 will come out w/ way to share fluid between right & left shocks but only after u hve dialed in your set up for race day & where the oils come t center main life source round tank they both get cooled. Terrible if u hve not dialed in yet but perfect once u know your settings & speed bc u take fad completely off the table so only factor is not traveling at speed to breaking pnt red line if u will.
Another awesome video! Can you maybe ask the owners during the walkarounds what they do for a living? I'm always curious as to how these people pay for such expensive rigs. Just a thought
I understand if you work at an actual fab shop that this is possible, but those 4.5 Kings alone are more money than I even have in the bank lol it’s just so common to see some young guy cruising down the freeway here in SoCal with a built truck. Just always makes me think. The fact that Jake is making these videos while talking with the owners, I think it’s a good opportunity to find out how these rigs are paid for. That way people, like my self, can kinda know where to start.
Derek Hussey it makes it a lot cheaper doing all the work yourself, so getting paid what he does to work at the shop than working on his personal truck after his work hours Saves a lot of money. Plus any side work for friends or customers will bring in cash. But that would be a good question for jake & chris to explain their process of buying parts/funds
Love these videos and that truck is badass. My second favorite truck behind Kevin Terry's white center mounted silverado. Wonder if he brought out any spare steering racks, haha. You'll have to do Tyler's truck next.
Is her running a dash cover or is that the OEM one? Looks different, but good! Im asking because I need one for my truck after I caged it, the top of my dash literally fell apart
Every tenth pole I would put a fire extinguisher if regular race coarse. I would pre cut the power poles made to fail/break at ground level. Then put a bolt on PVC sleeve around the poles to hold it together. Cut the poles 7/8th of the way threw. On impact it will break easy low to ground clean & safely.
U can see changing stuff prts setting running same coase same speed what works by temp gauge per shock. R u improving & at what price & how far on ragged edge of safe & non high cost failure.
They need to number each power pole big easy to read numbers so u can call out at a glance your pole location over radio & some1 can tell u back your time & if quicker run or slower along the way.
I have a prerunner built tundra and just tell insurance that its stock easy to get insurance and same with the dmv they don't have to know that it's modified they just think that it's stock too.
awesome stuff love the channel. may want to invest in microphones for the guys who don't face the camera when talking. still great stuff tho. keep up the great work
I would get a silt type netting fencing & trench & run it all along road power pole side w/ at least 2 ft under the dirt. Kind of catch u if u break suspension & go off coarse, less pole hit, might flip & drag in ground to stop
Why can't they make chrome alloy grade 10 nut & bolts? B4 u say not needed the roof tiles of a tunnel were falling down break off grade 8 devil # bolts. As hard & strong as air tool sockets blued blk used esp in places u repeatedly take nuts & bolts off or vice vesa, mostly about the thread bc u can almost always just use a bigger thicker/stronger bolt.
@@riddlediddle598 exactly, the racers use trucks like these that aren't full blown race trucks to go over the time trials course to get a feel for it before their official timed run.
Holy rattle Batman. Lol. Seems like every damn thing in the truck rattles. Tie some shit down or get some duck tape. Can’t imagine that being constant.
racing conditions long straight far away track/coarse alone is like diving alone vs more circular track some1 near or will come around next 20 mins b4 u bleed ot death., or shock to organ failure. Either need trail truck following along the area safer speed or drone back up or more looping track.
Has any body tried lengthening the exhaust pipe? by twisting it like a snake on it's self. Meaning it will still flow big straight shot but just take a more senic route to get there & dyno it. Inside actual dimension may b a wee bit tighter but the twisting effect no improve air flow hving some kind of suction & back pressure effect at the same time. Science experiment just to see what is the best twist per ft at what size exhaust diameter.??? Something to try if some1 in the performance exhaust buss? Hving some enternal baffle slits cut & welded back in will force the air to make the scenic route (use the whole volume of pipe which is bigger than just running widder expensive bulky piping. Form cost & function deal+ looks cool.
I know it's in vogue cool to hve max flex travel, I get it rock crawling makes sense. But for speed runs, I God wonder if we should not being doing the opposite? Hear Me out... U cage the trail & butt seat guage the trail. Then not sure how but u hve a way to limit the max travel speed run right trail to limit the max travel say 3 click system same way u hve 3 adjustable ride shock settings. On road firm off road soft grave some where in the middle. Well above 45mph or 55mph least travel 30 mph to 45 mph med travel length & if below 30mph max travel length example as far as gravel, off road u hve to figure it out butt gauge to conditions on the fly. Racing u might hve 4 speed settings above 55mph & up not road legal settings.
Josh Davies So STEDI, a lighting company in Australia have a 9” round spot LED than can throw a light 1,155m. Rigid Industries Hyperspot lights before they upgraded their LED technology could throw light over 1700m. KC HID spots can throw a light 1,704m or 1.05 miles. Now, my eye sight isn’t that good anymore but it’d say anything past 800m or .5 a mile is pointless in a racing situation because you can’t see that far. So for him to say LED doesn’t have power is just factually wrong.
These high speed trail runners? I don't think u want perfect sq tire set up. I beat hving 1 tire lead say driver front & hving back/rear passenger following furthest back extra 1" front & extra 1" more rear is safer set up. JBM
Calling this a prerunner makes sense. Its annoying when people get a light bar in the front and spare tire carrier in the back and call their truck a prerunner.
Me if possible to make this on the fly max travel adjustment then I don't set the rear same as the engine & Me sitting up front same setting. Front needs bit more travel for safety not crashing & dying deal & rear if rear drive less travel. All wheel u might make them all match & prt time front 4 wheel drive same travel but still softer rear shock, fade out where u hve less wt & less stuff to break. By hving it set diff u will see just what the limit of your system is & shock fad, esp if u hve a temp guage on each shock. Know what the safe normal travel fad out pnt is temp & time wise is v/valuable info. U hve to ride in this thing & even racing u don't want to crack up bouncing eye balls. .
“LEDs don’t have capabilities nowadays” Wat? Is he stoned? Don’t buy cheap shit, the good ones have plenty more capacity than HID and are not nearly as fragile. Also, this implies they got worse over time somehow... LED tech is taking giant leaps now.
Personally I love the look of the individual lamps up top vs a lightbar😍
This is quite possibly the coolest dude I've ever seen with a race truck and a goatee. Leave some for the rest of us stud.

What modification to the shock whoop was done? What's it cycling full bump?
Absolute dream truck
How does he get the truck smogged? I noticed he has Cali plates.
Registered in a smog exempted county 🤙

Ohhh....yeah.
Crazy GD up prerunner
Does anyone know the average cost of a build like this?
Love the videos
Stop showing these Chevys man its making want to build my Chevy even tho my Ranger is half built already.

what you know bout them Chevy's?
Sick!!! 🤘🏼
How does it get the name prerunner just curious?
i think becuz they use these style trucks to pre run courses before the actual races like Baja 500

Tyler’s Sierra next?
No typically into trucks but this shit looks sick

This awesome. Would love to drive the hour to go on a run with you guys. Car is hella stock though. Oh and not a truck, SUV 😅
Beautiful awesome truck but it sounds like it's dragging cans
Those are the bypass tubes clicking
Looks like pole line road
I go to kartek all the time lol

It's all about dialing in like at the track, & saving those tires only in this case shocks.
Did this kid just say LEDs don’t have the lighting output as HIDs? Shave that ChinRat and do some research.
