I have lovebirds instead of budgies and i can confirm all of these still apply!
I'm new to this channel, and I think it's incredible you made your own cage. I'm not handy at all 😅

Ha!😅Thanks, I'm not bad at building things. My dad was a big help to me! And yes, most of these apply to almost every species. New video coming soon! Thanks for commenting!

Great advice. I can only stress how interaction is vital for them. Getting just one budgie without being in the same room to interact with it all day, every day, is almost criminal. They really need company as a highly social flock bird. So if you really value your bird you get him a buddy of its own kind like you did. I can also recommend finding a lonely bird from someone in your area instead of getting it out of the animal store. There's a lot of sad budgies being lonely in small cages and breeders are only increasing that problem by selling them to people who only want a pet to satisfy their own interests. I advertised for lonely budgies online and had no problem finding two who are now together and have a great life. Birds like that will never be the most tame pets but with time and patience you will gain their trust.

So true! Thanks for commenting your thoughts! I 100% agree. I would recommend spending AT LEAST 1 hour with a bird every day. I spend about 3-4 with mine per day.

If at all possible, can you do a video on pro and cons for a nesting box and what to do if a female( I thought it was female) turns out to be a male.
