- Some views of Gelligaer and Merthyr Common a beautiful and historic landscape. with remains of Roman roads, cairns and historic chapels. as well as free roaming Welsh hill ponies, sheep and cows. you will often see Red Kites, buzzards and a miriad of other birds.
A lovely place to walk and relax and just take in the beauty and tranquility.
The remains of Capel Gwladys lays to the south and supposedly dates back to the 6th century. It is said that the site was founded by Gwladys mother of St Cadoc.
