Baresi and Maldini were relatively similar but uniquely different. Baresi was a sweeper, one of the greatest in that position, later converted to a centre back, but equally great at that too. Maldini was a left back/left wing back, but he could also play centre back, and was expert in either positions. Baresi was more of a playmaking player, from the defence, and Maldini more of a defending winger, who could also cross very well and score.
My idol Maldini, need to get a shirt of Italy to pay homage to him. My other favourite Italians were Baggio, Del Piero, Inzaghi and Gattuso

Madini- One of the best defenders to ever play the Game. He did not look like a defender, looked like the best player and he was. Even the Great Ronaldo R9, said Maldini was the best defender he faced. He was so composed in tackles, clearances, very rarely out of position. New generation defenders are not even half the quality of Maldini. Maldini, Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Puyol are my favorite defenders.

that 2002 world cup for me will never be forgotten. it still makes me so mad. the corruption was like i had never seen. Korea had never won a world cup match and now all of a sudden they are beating teams like Italy and Portugal??? i will never forget that Italy game, we had 2 or 3 goals disallowed and Korea scores theirs by taking down box defenders with no penalties.

You definitely get your stuff from somewhere like tiktok. No defender is incapable of being dribbled past. Neymar and Mbappe would eat Puyol alive, like Denilson and Di Maria did to him. Also, nobody you named are immune to nutmegs, like when Romario scored a world class goal by nutmegging a crowded defensive dangerzone which included Maldini in it or when Ronaldo Fenomeno left Maldini on the floor.

at the time, of coz Milan were very strong and have grown into a force with Van Basten, Rijkaard, Gullit, Maldini and Baresi. But Johann Cruyff kind of created a dream team made of Hristo Stoichkov, Michael Laudrup, Guardiola and Ronald Koeman. That Barcelona team was so good they underestimated almost every team they faced in that 4 year period between 92-95. So yeah, they underestimated even a giant of European football in Ac Milan
