I had someone work on my walk in freezer they moved some wires around on the in side on the fans on the right side of it now every 13 days to the hour it turns the whole unit off an u flip the breaker off for 1 hour then turn the breaker back on an it will run just fine for 13 more days to the min what could this be thanks
Good move taking the X-wire off the terminal block inside the defrost timer, even though the signal from the the 3-wire temperature sensor down in the evaporator was no longer coming back to the timer because on the 3-wire temperature sensor the contact switch points of "Common to the X-wire" were no longer closed, as they had been upon your arrival. That clearly was the issue since the evaporator was iced up which means that 3-wire temperature switch had to be defective from "common to the X-wire" switch contact points. When you went to the defrost timer after leaving the walk-in freezer and demonstrated the X-wire kicking the timer out of defrost mode, it was clear that the defrost termination sensor embedded in the evaporator was defective. The kicker was when the ohm check showed that the X-wire should have NOT been bringing the timer out of defrost due to the fact that the defrost termination sensor switch contacts had opened on the defrost termination contact points. Great job. Those intermittent defects can be tough to isolate.
Love the fact that you don't just fix the problem and leave! You are very thorough and never do a job half way. Great person for all to learn from! Can't wait to watch more, thank you!

Just for giggle because i will following your way of replace both defrost timer and fan delay/ defrost termination switch

Good video brother and good catch on the 3 wires klixon, also everytime I have an iced up coil and the defrost timer is found at the beginning of defrost the way you found it, I just replace it as well, several times I actually opened the time clock, just to find how the gears are worn and ready to fail. They are a southern staple!!! Boiled peanuts are awesome....some say they require a "required taste" but so does sushi!!! Maybe I can figure out a way to ship you some....when I was in twenty Nine Palms CA my dad would ship them to me!!!
It allllll makes great Since when you went between the time clock the schematic and the wiring on the evaporator selection…….What percentage of refrigeration units you come across actually have a schematic that matches the existing wiring to a great extent🤔???? Pretty much any time these clocks start to hang up or lag, its time to change it out. You can make a mark with a Sharpie on the inner dial just to make sure its advancing. They like to hang up right at that defrost pin like this one did. Still like them better than the digital clocks, especially if they are mounted outdoors.
Real good video for trouble solving..just want to know what is a rule of thumb... on how to check sh and sc ? Does 10, 20 and 30 still apply.out there? super heat psi at suction reading and out of evap temp? why do some people take reading at the evap inlet and outlet and adjust txv to get sh.... is this something new.. do I missing out there. or might have to re learn. Thanks
I have a contactor controlling the fans on the indoor. Won't pull in to bring on fans although coil is getting energised. It's not stuck and seems to be free moving and when I push it in manually it brings on the fans? Any ideas?
after watching this video yesterday guess what I had today. a broken wire that connects the time clock to the 4 terminal. it rubbed and burnt open from the fan housing.
I’ve got a walk in evaporator that has an old Ranco defrost termination and fan delay switch. Has adjustable cut in and cut out temp and the sensing bulb that runs through the coil. Can I replace that with the the three wire klixon type like the unit had in this video? In theory they do the same thing, but take temperature readings from different parts of the evaporator.

The termination switches are common on freezer coils that are skipping defrost.

IIIPHASE 460 that's a common condenser on a rack. There are 6 compressors that have circuits in that condenser.

+Nate Gadow 30 min. 4 times in 24 hours. With defrost termination. Usually 6 am 12pm 6 pm 12 am. Hope that helps.
