      @@Hexstylee3 Not all women. Just 80% of Western women who have been brainwashed by Hollywood for decades. Get out of the West and most women are good, traditional, conservative, modest, etc. One of the key red flags when dating a woman abroad is to ask them if they grew up watching Disney growing up. Even the older Disney films indoctrinated girls to believe that Iust ("love at first sight") was love, trained women to reject their fathers, and taught women that they are ALL princesses EVEN when they live in a Republic, so in that sense Star Wars fit only with that ("Princess Leia of the Republic", lolz, because "daughter of a Senator" just doesn't sound as good).
      Disney had a very clear business model even before the Kathleen Kennedy era: take old fairy tales, make sure there are princesses, make them have Iust "Love at First Sight", meet an unrealistic Prince Charming, and live "happily ever after" without lifting a finger, compromising, or hardships. And we wonder why women are the way they are??!
      I'm very glad I went abroad to find a wife decades ago, my wife never watched disney growing up, she cooks, cleans, and takes care of everything without complaining, because she saw that in her own mother, and she is more conservative than me, and more strict against the corruptions of American culture than me. Hard to imagine as I'm a reactionary monarchist far to the right of most people, but in HER home country, they still embrace 2,000+ year old traditional values that make a reactionary monarchist like me seem like a liberal in comparison. 🤣

    The problem is two fold. One part is Disney themselves and the direction they have taken; the other is the character Rey herself.
    Rey isn't a bad character per say, but she is too much of a Mary Sue character for the audience to be able to relate too. Example being with Luke the audience was able to grow along with the character. They watched as he was a local farm boy, that knew nothing but grew into the character that he is today.
    With Rey she simply ran into something new and automatically knew how to handle said situation on a master level. Flying ships, handle a lightsaber, fight a Sith Lord and win with no training or combat experience what so ever; no problem.
    Sex has nothing to do with it. The character itself is poorly written/designed from a relatable standpoint.

    • @aa-ze5cz
      @aa-ze5cz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Luke also had a lot of flaws. He was impatient, got easily frustrated at times (even in A New Hope where he wanted to leave the farm), kind of saw things his own way, little whiny at times, liked the glory a little too much early on lol, etc.
      I mean deep down he was a good person, but he was a typical younger guy growing up. We expect a lot of those things until you mature. Luke in that aspect was VERY easy to relate to, because most of us have been there.
      Rey was just super cheery all the time in Force Awakens, was a master at everything, exhibited basically zero traits that most younger audiences can relate to... yah. Just a poorly written character.

    The whole “Rey Palpatine. No, Rey Skywalker!” like it’s “Chunk. No, captain chunk!” Just felt so stupid. It would’ve felt much better if she’d have owned her identity and used that to show that wherever you come from, it doesn’t define the person you could be. That it’s up to you to choose your own path. Literally like the Skywalker saga has shown multiple times across multiple characters. Such a dumb waste.

      Never watched the 3rd movie. Making Rey a part of either family line was stupid and unnecessary. It's also lazy and borderline plagerism of Luke's story, which I have already seen. Rey should've been her own person. THAT would be stronger than a weak tie in and attempt at pandering to the original trilogy fans.

John has voiced his resentment towards what they did with his character and they had promise, they just were lazy and tried to rehash the old story and pretend they weren't being lazy. I know the viewpoint on Daisy is controvercial, but John is definitely a great actor and this aggressive box checking has made it impossible for him to show his potential.

It was absolutely Kathleen Kennedy and JJ/Rian's fault. The Force Awakens was lazy remake of A New Hope. Rian at least did something different. JJ then doubles down on Palpatine. Women are great people, I know because I am one. However, telling women to compete against men sets up a stratification process. If fair, the competition itself shows who is best for the task. We must realize that to deny identity is to turn humans into widgets instead of real people. We need to celebrate who we are as humans/people. If too many women go into combat, not enough babies will be birthed in the coming generation (both Soviet Union after WWII and CCP China after 1949). This imbalance puts the culture at risk. Trans, promotion of women above their "pay grade"(military adage) fails the community of humans more than it helps. Not politically correct but true.

    • @Bedrinonen
      @Bedrinonen 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ironically, the feminist movement has traditionally fought for equal opportunities with men, not this affirmative action nonsense which is a way of companies proving they are "diverse friendly" by filling quotas of enough people from specific sex or racial groups. The point is to allow those with talent to hone their skills, and be recognised for it, regardless of race or sex. Because men have unfairly been represented within certain roles does not mean that the answer is to replace that by unfairly placing women in those roles... believe it or not!

    • @b.w.22
      @b.w.22 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I dunno - I don’t think it’d be a particularly noble culture if women had their choices limited because they should be having kids instead of directing movies or joining the military. That’s how the Taliban think about women. Nor should the few actual trans folks be a threat to the next generation, being all of a few percent of the population.
      I think the issue here is more a question of competence and whether a person can create a good Star Wars film. I’d think there are tons of women who could write and direct amazing Star Wars stories - it’s just that KK has this agenda thats a prerequisite. This attempt at reshaping Star Wars into her vision is what’s hurting it.

      Spoilers ahead.
      First episode of season one essentially blamed Donald "Orange Man Bad" Trump for causing WW3. The Illyrians are treated worse than the Klingons and Romulans combined in terms of racist stereotype due to the fact that Illyrians use genetic augmentation to adapt themselves to a planet's environment rather than terraform said-planet to their needs. Then there's the Gorn showing up and acting like the xenomorphs from Alien in terms of breeding and action. Oh and blaming the Temporal Cold War for why the Eugenics War on Earth didn't occur between 1992 and 1996 so they have an excuse to show off downtown Toronto in the modern era to cut costs. Then there's a musical episode. Dull characters with no feeling. Oh and S3 is doing b!@ckface by having characters become Vulcans by a hypospray that also changes their hairstyles and probably blood so that they then play up the stereotypes whilst insulting Spock for being half-human when they were only human a few seconds earlier. That is modern ST.
