    You can also tie a couple of knots, and feed them inside the clamshell instead of using a crimp bead. I’ve done this a lot for years, and have never had any of them come apart.

      @@ryannedonovan6459 I actually have several videos showing how I do this. I just tie two overhead knots and slip them into the clamshell bead tip, close up the bead tip and it is secure. I’ve been doing this for over 30 years and I have yet to have anything break. I do this with my necklaces and my bracelets. I’ve even made earrings using the cording with the clamshell bead tips and knots.

    The closed loop clam shells are what I always use. I use flex wire and knot it inside the clam shell. It's secure, and no crimp tube needed. Now I want to try a beaded strand connected to chain, but will the exposed clam shell at the connection look unfinished being at the front of the necklace?

    my crimp bead becomes long when I press it so it doesn't fit nicely in the clamshell
