It’s very heartwarming to know that there are still developers out there that have respect, integrity and decency. Our heritage is so important. The last 20 years have seen a real decline in tasteful development. Sydney doesn’t need anymore ugly casinos. It needs class. This is a huge step in the right direction. I hope it inspires others to adopt the same philosophy and create a city that echoes the past but is new and exciting. I look forward to visiting soon.

A beautiful transformation of an iconic building. You’ve preserved a beautiful piece of Sydney’s history.

As a worker in Circular Quay, I sometimes get sad at the so-called upgrades of some CBD areas, as I've been there since the magical 1980s era. But you have restored my faith. Thank you.

I am thrilled that they saved such a beautiful building. I love the entry area and the way they respected the original directory boards - art work is magnificent. Love those charming moving palest pink light shades up high = brilliant.
But I wish the bedroom suites were not so "beige, cream, grey" colours.
I prefer the elegant, charming colours used in the Langham hotel suites in Melbourne - makes their suites more welcoming than the plain boring palette of predominantly just "beige, cream and greys"

Should be a gallery or museum or something useful to the general public, that anyone can attend, not a luxury for a few who can afford it, under the pretext of preserving heritage. Sydney does not need more exclusivity. Hotels are a great idea until a downturn or a pandemic when you cant fill those rooms. Sydney desperately needs more publicly accessible museums and galleries.

I disagree with most commentary. I see it as bland and without character. There is no comparison with the beauty of international hotels in Asia and Europe. Those hotels have a character that reflects their culture. When all you have is football, meat pies and kangaroos, you don’t have much to build upon. Room prices reflect the location and that’s all.

This is NOT the best Australia has to offer by any means look up the Impearl Hotel on the Gold Coast or the Langham in Melbourne. Even Ritz Cartlon and Four Seasons have set up shop in Australia now.
