I loved this game when I was a kid!! I remember going to the arcade to play this game and I would always pick the Magic cuz of Shaq and when I got the Genesis version, he was replaced by Nick Anderson. I was so bummed!!!! the memories!!!
Honestly, I love the SNES and Genesis soundtrack equally. This version of the title screen theme is closer to the Arcade version than the Super Nintendo version it seems.
Great House music in this video game. I used to daynce while playin' dis video game. This sowng reminds me of da japanese cawtoon Love Hina. I imagine Mutsumi Otohime playin' da synthesizer.
Genesis version mirrored the arcade theme quite a bit here. SNES version is great too, but the Genesis version tries staying closer to the arcade version. I know the Sega CD version sounds different, more like an epic version of the theme which I didn't quite like.
@4c00h --- A, R, move cursor to K; hold start and press A -- OHH MYYYY!!! Presidential beat downs to the NBA; then player two, N, E move cursor to T; hold start and press B, Executive Branch, beatings!
@gamemasterjd No, not even close. I'm born in '86 and there's nothing I love more than old school consoles, not today's Wii and that shit! Even though I had some respect for Sega, it has always been below Nintendo. The contruction of the console, the controller, the games, even the transformer, you name it! and SPECIALLY the graphics and the sound!!! This is not just my opinion, the evidence is all over the web, see for yourself.
I love how the CPU flagrant fouls you, steals the ball and makes a full court underhanded buzzer beater shot at the end of every quarter.
HE'S ON FIRE!!!!
My brother just broke out the sega and we found this game. Freakin awesome!

Announcer: WELCOME TO NBA JAM!!!
I like this intro, too! Also, the NBA Jam: TE from Sega Genesis have a coaching tips and halftime is the same music!
wow, I loved this game as a kid!! I was disappointed the Genesis version didn't have Shaq on my Magic. It was Nick Anderson and Scott Skiles intead.
The Genesis version of the NBA Jam title theme has a sick bassline, better than the SNES version.
WOW brings back memories
This song still gets me amped.
