The thing you call a little issue cannot be avoided. It is when the LOD grass changes to full model. So think of it this way. The LOD was created using the cgid grass files but using the lower resolution textures created by texgen. The full models are higher resolution and higher poly using that same cgid layout. So the grass from both will be in the same location but you still have to let the game load the full model normal resolution textures when you get within the 5 uGrids to load. (My game does the same thing).

A tutorial I'm not too sure of...there are a lot of things to know. Maybe I should make a tutorial? I no longer use pre-cache grass. I do it myself now, so I've learned a lot since this video.

A mod called No Grass In Objects allows you to cache the grass using .Net Script Framework. This video is old but you can actually do this on AE as of recently someone updated the mod. It is a bit of a process but I've considered making a tutorial.
