RV is very underrated here. I love him as a bot for solo runs, due to his ammo and pot/bomb supply. I don't think he's particularly squishy, as long as you give him a shield weapon.
I run him over Ironbreaker when Im running a build that could really utilize his ammo/potion drops, new Shade with a headshot build with backstab reurning an arrow and running Volley crossbow is some of the highest damage you can get and RV makes that build useable (otherwise you run out of ammo right away)
Agreed, if you're playing any ammo dependent character he's great and while he might not use his ult at the best times if you run the attack speed and temp health talent he gives your whole team a lot of survivability just by standing in the smoke bomb.
As a player with over 1000 hours of bot only games in cata I wouldn`t agree 100% on this list.My choises would be: !. Ironbreaker with dualhammers/handgun -S-tier 2. Merc with spear`n shield/handgun - A/S-tier 3. Zealot with axefalcion/Bops - A-tier 4/5. Sister of the thorn with S`n dagger/Longbow/Moonbow - B-tier 4/5. Unchained with flail/boltstaff - B-tier In cata it`s all about bot survivability and you as a player are the one taking care of specials/monster and most elites.
Speaking as someone that has spent at least 800 of their over 1000 hours in game wrangling full teams of these bots, I can safely say that this is a solid list and your reasoning is mostly sound. But I do disagree in some areas: 1. Sister bot is pretty good, definitely at least A tier. Bots need to survive above everything else and sister's leechling ability lets her last quite a while, especially with a merc, an ironbreaker and yourself generating temp health for her. She's a good 3rd bot to have after IB and merc to fill out your team, and she's also a monster with a longbow with conservative shooter. On top of this the new defuffs she can apply are quite nice. A solid pick for sure. 2. Foot Knight is nice, but he takes the slot of a merc bot, which immediately relegates him to B tier. The bot also just isn't good at picking enemies to charge and often whiffs it, more than you imply from my experience. Overall he's OK, but not A tier. 3. Warrior Priest is great, however he lacks a ranged weapon. Immediate B tier at best here, one of the best features of a bot is their ability to snipe everything across the map without fail. A witch hunter gives you solid buffs, lasts a while and can snipe decently. An OK substitute for sister if you just can't stand the elf or are playing her, but WHC fills this role better imo. 4. Unchained is great as a third bot, especially if you're playing the elf. She's quite effective with the bolt staff and tanks quite nicely with a fire sword. Dissapate works well with her as a bot's primary defence is blocking and pushing, so making her lose extra heat simply by blocking extends her lifespan by a great deal. She also doesn't take the merc or ironbreaker's slot. As for her dying quickly to ratlings, this happens to all bots when they get trapped by their shots, she just gets put out of her misery faster than the others. Definitely pretty good, I'd land her in foot knight's spot in A tier. Once again, a solid list. Glad to see you didn't fall into the trap of making grail knight higher as I see a lot of people doing! He just does the whole "let me ult this slave rat while eating an overhead" routine far too often to be useful.
I mostly agree except with zealot and ranger vet. Zealot because when you slap brace of pistols on him he seems to auto snipe all specials faster than the player. Ranger vet because the ammo pouches or ale are such incredibly good support abilities that are being activated very often.
This list is pretty much the experience that I've had. Gotta test shade though because I never used her because I don't believe in the half a neuron that bots have. Foot knight always seem to ult off a ledge and, most of the time, to his death. It's funny to behold him flying away, but breaks my heart when he's holding a grim
I know fatshark recently made it so that bots can't jump off ledges anymore (they just instantly teleport back to safety unless they get hit off by a monster), but I'm not sure if that has applied to the foot knights charge or not. Hopefully it has because suicidal kruber is just the worst
One important thing with unchained bot is if you're playing on legend or lower, or you've already got a super tanky team (e.g., with Merc and IB bots and you're a SOTT swimming in temp health), if you put the fire aura talent on unchained for her level 30 the bot will actually do tons of damage. But more importantly their fire aura will save them from specials all the time, since specials are not programmed to avoid unchained while the fire aura is going. The number of times I've seen unchained get grabbed by a hookrat or jumped by a gutter runner just for the fire aura to kill the special a second later is insane. I play a lot of chaos wastes solo and the fire aura is also super helpful for dealing with patrols early on when you don't have many boons yet and would otherwise get overwhelmed
i do think you forgot about waystalkers talent which applies amaranthe to the rest of the team. i don't think it moves her up a tier but it's worth mentioning and personally it's the only reason i keep her. unchained is also better than you gave her credit for but only if you have her running the talent which gives her her career skill anytime she overheats, she can also generate some good temp health with bomb balm.
Good video friend, i usually end up playing with my bots but I've rarely really compared the different classes. I have learned a great deal from you and I appreciate it.
Addendum: I would still move the Waystalker up to A for her passive heal up to 50% that she can spread to the other characters. PS: What are your opinions about how the bots should be equipped weapons wise? I am curious to get input on that as I usually just keep their weapons what I would use when playing as them and thus have not done any experimentation.
@@rikhenry9701 There are three things to know about bots: they rely heavily upon blocking and pushing for their defence, they don't understand combos more elaborate than "click attack button again", and they are extremely accurate with single-shot ranged weapons. If you can, give them a shield weapon that generates temp health reliably and quickly (hammer and shield and Kruber's spear and shield are wonderful for this). If not (say for elf, Sienna or Kruber without DLC) give them simple weapons that generate temp health reliably and that preferably have good stamina like the mace, fire sword, sword and dagger or greatsword on elf, etc. Weapons that have reduced pushing cost like the sword and dagger or rapier are also very good on bots as they will be able to push more, keeping them alive. For ranged weapons, high damage and highly accurate sniper weapons tend to be best, followed by one's that are reasonably fast and high damaging (handgun for Kruber and the dwarf, longbow for elf, bolt staff for Sienna, and brace of pistols for the witch hunter). Crossbows are a bit awkward for bots, but can be used effectively if you find out about their breakpoints. Finally for ranged, conservative shooter is excellent on most of these weapons as bots are pinpoint accurate with them. Scrounger is also a decent alternative if you have a witch hunter bot or are playing him. If using a staff, thermal equalizer keeps them shooting more and in unchained's case further from death. As for builds, take the three things I mentioned at the beginning and choose talents and gear for them that play to these strengths. Weapons with increased block cost reduction and stamina are excellent. A barkskin necklace with block cost reduction and extra health is also very handy as they love to stand in gas, storms, warpfire, etc. all the time. A trinket with stamina recovery is also very useful for bots given their behaviour. Talents which improve or reward this behaviour are also good. Things like witch hunter's cast away talent and unchained's dissapate work wonders as they reward the bots for doing what they will always try to do while defending - blocking and pushing. Finally, anything that gives the team (and by extension you as a player) extra utility or DPS are good to have. Think the witch hunter's or mercenary' abilities, or the strike together and wild fervour talents on merc and witch hunter respectively. Sister's poison is also very useful in this regard, especially with blackvenom thicket. I hope this helps! I've spent a lot of hours wrangling these bots and equipping them, so I'm glad to see this often overlooked part of Vermintide get some appreciation! Edit - a note on Waystalker: Waystalker's regen isn't balanced out by the fact that at higher levels she's dead for more of the level than she's alive. An alive bot that's keeping the horde back is far more useful than a dead one giving a trickle of green health.
@@sirdiesalot2975 Very good feed back and input friend! highly informative I have great respect for you! As for the bit about the Waystalker, I tend to play on Champion as my go-to so it is reasonable to say that I'm misinformed when it comes to higher tiers of difficulty and I will bear your words in mind. I also want to note that I laughed heartily about her being dead more than she is alive, thank you for that friend.
@@rikhenry9701 I'm two months late with this (classic youtube notifications), but thanks and you're welcome! Always happy to share anything I've picked up over the course of wrangling these bots haha
BH can work if Fatshark fixes him getting stuck in ult it you kill his target. Same with GK, but they just changed him to charge after the nearest enemy after a couple seconds.
Non hacking Game Hack: Get Warrior priest of Sugmar with the talent that gives his righteous fury healing based on enemy health slain & pair that with elven goddess Ker Ker as sister of thorn for her increased healing potential. Then triple threat the whole situation with Merc Krubie with a boon of shallya legendary trait and now you have temp AND legit health gain for DAYS
I like this list a lot, it mentions some weaknesses (like the Unchained dying to gatling induced overcharge constantly) that others tend to forget about. As someone with 300h on the game, having only ever played with bots, this list is very good and accurate. Hot tip: don't forget the newly added Necromancer, the bot isn't anything crazy, but bringing 7 pairs of hands instead of 1 makes a big difference for the whole team.
Because I like to play very melee heavy characters, I tend to value anti-special bots more than others. Something like Waystalker for example is an A or S tier for me. I agree she can be fragile and isn't perfectly reliable against specials either, but she does get the job done a lot of the time.
JTC as someone who's been slowly getting my friends into this game and even more slowly getting us up into the higher tiers of play (convincing them Legend is indeed possible lol) I find these videos great. Even if they don't watch, which they should because your videos are solid. It's great for me to have so I can keep these manlings alive out there in the rat infestation! GGs thank you for all the videos
While HM may seem like a great bot because of all her survivability, the bot terribly utilizes mostof it. Bots function best when you give them BCR and Stamina, as their dodges are subpar. As such, finesse character fall flat in the hands of a bot. This is why bard and krub bots function the best. Zeolet and GK are underrated here. They have great survivability, access to mindless weapons bots are great with, and offer some utility(GK has blessings; Zeolet has cross bow). You are right about the GK bug knocking him down a tier. Other than these 3 careers, this bot tier list is immaculate, especially Mercenary. A merc bot is the only bot, in my opinion, who can rival a semi-compentent player. It almost feels like the bot system was made with the merc as the model. Thanks for the great video!
The problem is that the grail knight bug isn't a rare occurrence, it will keep happening multiple times in a run. He will consistently get himself killed trying to ult a slave rat while eating overheads from warriors and stormvermin every chance he gets. He's just too much of a liability. On top of this he takes the merc's spot, which drives him down to F tier imo when combined with his poorly programmed behaviour with blessed blade. Zealot is certainly B tier. He does what you need a bot to do most (survive) decently. However, he offers nothing else at all. He also suffers because bots don't understand that zealot is best at low health and high temp health, so they will always heal him when he doesn't need it. Therefore he never really gets the benefit of his damage reductions, so he ends up only being slightly more tanky than a witch hunter bot overall. Besides, the rapier can be used mindlessly by the bots pretty well too.
@@sirdiesalot2975 The bots won't heal zeolet mod effects works even if the zeolet is a bot. Also, you underestimate the power of the crossbow, and the leniency that zeolet's survivability grants him to use it. It definitely gives him enough utility to deserve A. The glitch is not common enough to drop GK to F, and he has a lot going for him. His elite and monster damage gives him almost as much potential as a Merc. Additionally, his blessings give passives that may be more useful that THP on some careers, so he is, IMHO, A tier. Maybe the glitch has worse effects on the horizontal blade. Do you run confidence or audacity on GK bots? Also, I read your other comment, and it was pretty insightful. I never considered SoT w/ conservative.
@@AttackLobster I understand why people like yourself stick with zealot, he's solid and reliable. But he doesn't do anything other than offer very slightly above average survivability, especially when compared to the witch hunter bot who adds great bonuses to damage and crit chance (when built correctly of course) which significantly improve your DPS when running with a full bot team. Witch hunter is also perfectly capable of using the crossbow, although I still prefer the brace of pistols as the breakpoints are nicer and don't absolutely require headshots to be reached, which is nice for bots (that said, conservative shooter works surprisingly well on BoPs here too, but I tend to go scrounger). Finally, as far as I'm aware the "bots don't heal zealot" mod only works in modded realm as well, which makes it far less useful for people who want/need to use bots to get a few loot runs done quickly and reliably (imo the best use for bots). Haven't checked it in a while though admittedly. So overall, B tier is a sensible spot for him - not great or exceptional but still very solid. As for grail knight, I've never had any luck with him. Any temp health he generates from his virtue of stoicism talent is almost always lost to his buggy behaviour with blessed blade in my experience with either confidence or audacity (which is probably due more to poorly thought out bot behaviour rather than a bug, bounty hunter suffers from the very same issue). He also loses his ranged weapon, which is especially bad for a Kruber bot as a handgun bot is insanely useful for dealing with specials and elites quickly. I see the argument gument for putting grail knight in C tier, he can be good if the stars align and he nukes a boss. But I just have had too many bad experiences to put him above bounty hunter personally. That "glitch" happens to me all the time, and he's just so lacklustre compared to the multiple other alternatives there are to him. As for the other comment, thanks! Just sharing what I've learned through experience haha Thanks for coming to my TED Talk xD
@@sirdiesalot2975 Bots won't heal zeolet mod was sanctioned a while back. Maybe I encounter the glitch less because I use the (sanctioned) bot improvement mod. How do you build WHC? Since he has no damage reduction he usually falls over super early when I run him.
@@AttackLobster Ah, good to know! I haven't checked that mod in a while, will have to try it now. The bot improvement mod was also broken the last time I tried it, so I've avoided it since, but I will have to try that too! However, it's still unfortunately no use for console players, which is a great shame since I bounce between platforms for different friends, so modding advice won't help them. As for witch hunter, I like to give him a rapier with block cost and stamina, and a brace of pistols with scrounger or conservative shooter. The rapier is great as he scores headshots easily proccing his passive fairly regularly while also making pushes only cost half a stamina shield. The pistols are also more reliable than the crossbow on him, as without zealot's damage increases you'd need to tag his targets for him to make him one shot them, so he might as well have BoPs as they're reliable. Talent wise, temp health on cleave, flense and assassin are all good. Wild fervour also improves his utility to the team. However, cast away is by far the most important talent as it rewards and improves his behaviour of relying on blocking and pushing for defence and leads to greater survivability, especially combined with the rapier. The unending hunt also makes his tendency as a bot to use his abilities at inopportune times less painful, leading to more uptime and a greater chance that he'll use it constructively. As for other gear the standard health, block cost and barkskin necklace is a classic and great for bots. The othe most important thing is a stamina regen trinket - again it rewards the bot's blocking and pushing behaviour. Granted, he probably won't tank as well as a zealot with full temp health, but he offers such great utility to the team that he will always be my pick for a saltz bot. Admittedly my comparison was against an unmodded zealot bot, which he does only slightly worse than at tanking in my experience. I'll have to test the mod out for myself!
So, Necro Sienna dropped like 2 weeks ago and i've been playing with her as a bot a few times now and i have to say, she can definetly fit into the S tier category. The 3 hits with 80% dmg reduction, her special sniping with the soul grasp and the tankiness of the skeletons is just way too good. I'd even consider her to be the best bot in the game, just make sure to give her the flail and not the scythe
For people unsure of what to pick for kerillian or sienna i highly recommend unchained for sienna and sott for kerillian (the survivability they have for themselves and add to the team is great), i can consistently beat legend solo with unchained, IB, SotT and merc kruber (remember to give every bot barkskin for even more survivability) and personally i do not recommend WHC for saltz at all, he just dies all the time no matter what weapons you give him and that just makes him unreliable imo but if for some reason you totally want saltz then i recommend warrior priest
Outcast engineer definitely belongs in at least c tier simply because of troll hunter spears. My Boy bardin has single handedly killed monsters on legendary with that and the minigun.
With the necromancer now in the game, I want to say that if you have the necromancer bot at lvl 30 with barrow blades, it's easily the best bot in the game because it's 7 for the price of one, the odds of it getting more kills than you aren't exactly zero. It's just a bit squishy sometimes, but still less so than most other ranged support bots.
I think Engi bot is decent nowadays. I bring him when I feel like playing a tank since he will primarily use his ult for bosses and will melt them very quickly if he's protected. I'm not tracking but maybe they made some good changes in the last few years?
Thanks for the video. You make a lot of good points. I’m currently running Merc, RV , WHC on Legend for main campaign. I don’t really have any issue with my bot setup in Legend for the main campaign but I’ve been trying to find the optimal bot setup for Legend Chaos Wastes because my main campaign bot setup just isn’t working for Chaos Wastes. I need to revisit IB bot with the bot improvements mod. I swapped IB for RV a few months ago for the consistent bombs/potions. I remember IB used to just ult on top of you and hold block while attracting all the enemy aggro which was a death sentence if you ever get downed near him in the middle of the action. WHC has been part of my bot lineup for a long time but I’ll try swapping him out for Unchained. Would be interested to hear your tier list for bots in Chaos Wastes. Thanks again!
Strong dissagree with Grailbot. The quests alone send him to high B tier, but his single target DPS (when he isn't slapping an assassin rat for no reason) is beyond outrageous. Sister of the thorn is probably A tier too with her staff. She takes a special or two out of the fight instantly from any distance. Her free temp health and bonus to team healing makes her super valuable.
SotT bot has almost gotten me killed by an assassin with that debuff ult. I'll be close to hitting an assassin, and she'll use her ult *twice*, knocking the assassin away from me and providing enough distance for it to jump on me. She pisses me off.
Eh... I dunno about Waystalker tbh. i like running Natty Bond so the team-wide regen is pretty good, her ult does help out quite a bit whenever i'm running solo as Warrior Priest, Grail Knight or Slayer in dealing with distant specials especially those "out of bounds, behind a wall" Blightstormers not one would really be able to get to. She ends up pulling more patrols than i would like, but those are hardly a problem on legend and it ain't like i'm going solo Cataclysm lol. I'd put her at a solid B, only reason she is not an A is Sister of Thorn giving the team a lot more healing, the staff has great CC and the Sister's ult the bot rarely if ever uses well imo Ranger Vet though? I'd put that one at S. The extra ammo is lovely, the free Booze none of the other bots will take is an amazing buff to give yourself, he doesn't ult well or a lot but the free THP from EV adds up over time and if you don't really want the Ale for some reason (or you're playing Fortunes of War) then the extra potions and bombs kick some major ass. Stick him with a handgun and he'll snipe specials give him extra health+BCR+Barkskin on the amulet and he's durable enough, very solid Bot career
Mercenary (with On Your Feet Mates so he can save your game if you go down) Handmaiden Zealot (or warrior priest if you think you won't need him to kill specials) Ironbreaker Unchained (but I wouldn't take a Sienna bot)
Despite having far less playtime than most people here, I strongly believe Ranger Veteran should be *no lower* than B tier, especially when given a shielded weapon. Due to all his passive utility, I wouldn't begrudge someone who argues Ranger Veteran is A tier. Just for _existing_ you can get so much value out of him due to free consumables. Even if he's bad at knowing when to use his Career skill, once he's level 30, you can ensure you get free temp health when he _does_ use it by selecting 'Exhilirating Vapours' (3 thp/second). Conversely, I'd put Slayer, Shade and Zealot no higher than C tier due to the lack of passive utility.
I will strongly disagree with bots being idiotic since I am pretty sure that the intelligence goes up with difficulty. Today me and my friends were playing on halescourge on legend with a scout bardin, sister of the torn as bot while captain, merc for us and right before the elevator a rat ogre spawned wipe my friend also I got downed from a laggy rat inside the boss and boy do I never seen that. The sister were playing exactly as a player should against a rat ogre, hit, wait a bit, backdodge, forward hit, repeat. We were sure that was a player and no it was not. We lost because our timing was bad but the second time was right.
The bots are actually very good at certain things, you're right, but they are prone to spazzing out. When the stars align they are good at blocking, pushing and managing their stamina, will single-mindedly push for revives over nearly all else and can tank fairly well. And as in your example they can suddenly become gods of dodge-dancing monsters. I really like them, and trust them over most players. They're predictable and with practice you can wrangle them into being really useful! But I can safely say that their intelligence does not go up with difficulty. They still remain dumb as rocks, but remain predictable and useful if utilised well.
Bots are absolutely amazing vs rat ogres and trolls when there are no other enemies around. They will dodge basically every single hit with very high consistency (they can struggle against the troll puking in a small area though) and will do a decent amount of damage too. Against minotaurs or stormfiends they're a lot less consistent, and if you mix in some hordes or elites they go full retard
I never even realised bots use your current build for that class lol. I thought they just had a preset bot build or something. No wonder my Saltzpyre was dying so quick 😂 he has nothing on
You have to remember that besides help from you as a player the bots rely on blocking and pushing over everything else in defence. So giving him stamina regeneration from Cast Away and a trinket really ups his survivability by loads. A weapon like the rapier with block cost reduction and stamina is also excellent as it only costs half a shield to push with and can be swung mindlessly with good effect. Add the typical barkskin, health and block cost reduction necklace and he will hold his own reasonably well. I'd recommend him as a third bot after ironbreaker or merc if the elf isn't free, but if she is I'd take a sister bot instead. If you're playing the elf, a witch hunter or even unchained make great third bots to fill gaps in your team.
There’s quite a bit I disagree with here (zealot/handmaiden; probably mention the 100% block cost reduction), The thing I find to be kind of redundant with this list, why have two wizards and three elfs in B tier when you have to pick either one… this doesn’t really offer any sort of difference between them. I dunno, wasn’t a fan, I tend to run Merc, Iron, Zealot, Handmaiden and they fucking wreck
I realize I'm commenting on a 10 month old post, but, WP is fantastic as a bot, ez S tier. He almost always uses his ult on a teammate that is hit by an assassin , hooked, grabbed by a leech etc.... Also as of the 220 hours I have played I have never sen grail knight scuff his ult like you say, it might be patched out?
@@BiomechanicalBrick well, my usual bot setup is battle wizard, warrior priest, handmaiden, either merc or grail knight. (obv one gets subbed out based on who i play) so really most of the time the other bots shoot the hookrat or assassin or whatever before wp can ult. But when the other bots arent near that ult is very welcome.
Ranger veteran should not be in c tier, he is very good if you optimize him well. Zealot should be higher and from my experience handmaiden is not that good.
Wow. Are we playing the same game ? Kruber is by far the most useless bot in the entire panel. He can't even parry reliably (wich is insane for a bot), and is lazy for offensive (like all bots), so the defeat combo guaranted. I can't count the amount of times where he let foes approach and kill him without react. He is literally always the first to die, the first to "coincidentally" intercept player's shot, the first to trigger patrol with his ult. Only a troll could commit his code. And Mercenary is even worse than the FK, with -25HP and even more damage taken by hit. Unable to survive even in Legend without permanent babysitting. The other bots are far, far more safe. Kruber is pure trash until maybe someone fix his behaviour one day. Period.
Woe on you for putting unchained so low, she's far better than merc, comparable to IB, sometimes she even outlives him. In my experience unless I'm babysitting merc (or one of the other bots is) he's going down, unchained and ironbreaker bots are good enough so that they can do the babysitting.
I disagree here with you so much. :-D I play almost always with bots and the best is definitely Unchained - she heals the team she snipes specials and she can survive almost as much as Ironbreaker. Second is Ironbreaker because as you said he never dies. Thirth is Zealot because he is a killing machine - he saved me so many times. And finally fourth is Mercenary because he is like little bit weaker version of Unchained. This setup works very well I can do solo runs with all books even if I play like an idiot. :-D
He's so bad, I'd honestly make him F tier. Sure, once in a blue moon he'll delete a single warrior and be useful. But 90% of the time he'll just stand there with the blessed blade raised over his head getting smacked repeatedly in the face by slave rats before wasting it on them, same as bounty hunter's ult. Played well, he's obviously incredible. As a bot, he's awful.
@@sirdiesalot2975 give him the horizontal slash Ult, insta-kill on crits talent, bret sword and bret sword shield, temp health on kill, talent where temp health back from half the damage you took and then crit chance health and block cost and he’s actually very good! If you get a monster drink a proxy purple next to him to get good damage in too worth a try he plays well for me. Horizontal slash ult stops him holding it above his head for ages which is annoying but now avoided
You have to Babysit your warrior Priest Bot? Um NO. You have to babysit ALL bots. If you are going in for a bot run, you're going in for a babysitting session. That's how playing with bots works. Which is why your placement of Foot Knight is so strange to me. I play mostly with bots Legend and Cata and my Foot Knight has never made a weird charge. How? Because I babysit him and never let him be in a position where he could do that.
I'm not one for judging but I couldn't tell if it was a man or woman at first as well 😂 Not that it matters, he sounds really feminine at the start but ends sounding like a dude.
How dare Ranger Veteran be so low. -Near infinite ammo -Free potions/bombs -Or free ales, 15 damage reduction and 15% attack speed forever -Healing mist on his ult, he gives more temp health than Kruber’s Merc (and attack speed) -10% chance he won’t waste his healing item -Has access to a shield for extra survivability (bots are rubbish for damage, may as well tank) All that just as passives. If you kit him out with a pure support build for the bot, he’s incredible.

Ranger vet because the ammo pouches or ale are such incredibly good support abilities that are being activated very often.
you have such a massive ego to complain about a bot shooting specials faster than you 😂
@@ctylsh1214 how is that a massive ego?

This list is pretty much the experience that I've had. Gotta test shade though because I never used her because I don't believe in the half a neuron that bots have. Foot knight always seem to ult off a ledge and, most of the time, to his death. It's funny to behold him flying away, but breaks my heart when he's holding a grim
I know fatshark recently made it so that bots can't jump off ledges anymore (they just instantly teleport back to safety unless they get hit off by a monster), but I'm not sure if that has applied to the foot knights charge or not. Hopefully it has because suicidal kruber is just the worst
Foot knight bot also doesn't really understand that you can block while charging, which leads to his death a lot. Its really sad to watch.
That is true. It "feels" like it has happened less but I should test him out some more
One important thing with unchained bot is if you're playing on legend or lower, or you've already got a super tanky team (e.g., with Merc and IB bots and you're a SOTT swimming in temp health), if you put the fire aura talent on unchained for her level 30 the bot will actually do tons of damage.
@@rikhenry9701 usually with Bots you want to give them a shield. Otherwise, build them as meta as possible.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yeah but Fatshark never fixes their games.
I was literally googling this this morning and couldn't find any up to date info, thank you
Non hacking Game Hack: Get Warrior priest of Sugmar with the talent that gives his righteous fury healing based on enemy health slain & pair that with elven goddess Ker Ker as sister of thorn for her increased healing potential.
Just sharing what I've learned through experience haha
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk xD
With the improved bots mod playing on Legend i've found Unchained to be the second best bot in the game, to me more useful than Merc.
What settings do you use/not use on the mod may I ask? I use the same one but I still have the issues jtc mentions with her.
for some reason if I put beam staff on unchained bot it kills everything, too bad I main sienna so I dont see it too often.
I think BH often helping out in slaying monsters since his active ability extremely powerful and often the aim is accurate.
You forgot to point out how WHC turns into a walking blender with the right setup and a rapier.
100% stamina regen on HM is being undervalued here. That, with a teammate that doesn’t leave your side, enables so much spam from stam-heavy weapons
Never considered using FK bot. I was scared he would fully commit to every charge and get caught out.
Thanks for making this. I only recently got back into the game and forgot everything I knew. I will be using your best judgement.
I think Engi bot is decent nowadays. I bring him when I feel like playing a tank since he will primarily use his ult for bosses and will melt them very quickly if he's protected. I'm not tracking but maybe they made some good changes in the last few years?
A bot saved ower chaos run one time

I would argue that Grail knight should go into B for the passive buffs he provide alone. otherwise yea, hes pretty poo.
Slaps some Block cost reductions on Iron Breaker , you'll see him tanking 3 Choas warriors while you getting revives
Doesnt even mention Waystalker giving passive green hp regen smh
She’s never alive to give it!😂
Funnily enough, she gives the regen while waiting to be picked up.
I'd rather have a bot taking hits than a dead waystalker giving me a trickle of green health xD
I'd put her at a solid B, only reason she is not an A is Sister of Thorn giving the team a lot more healing, the staff has great CC and the Sister's ult the bot rarely if ever uses well imo
Ranger Vet though? I'd put that one at S. The extra ammo is lovely, the free Booze none of the other bots will take is an amazing buff to give yourself, he doesn't ult well or a lot but the free THP from EV adds up over time and if you don't really want the Ale for some reason (or you're playing Fortunes of War) then the extra potions and bombs kick some major ass. Stick him with a handgun and he'll snipe specials give him extra health+BCR+Barkskin on the amulet and he's durable enough, very solid Bot career
Waystalker is a special enemy killing machine with her active skill
I would say Sister is at least A.
Her +15% heal is amazing! And there are more bonuses and utility
Mercenary (with On Your Feet Mates so he can save your game if you go down)
Handmaiden
Zealot (or warrior priest if you think you won't need him to kill specials)
Ironbreaker
Unchained (but I wouldn't take a Sienna bot)
No wonder my Saltzpyre was dying so quick 😂 he has nothing on
really helpful thanks!
I’ve never had luck with witch hunter. He’s too squishy, always dies.
There’s quite a bit I disagree with here (zealot/handmaiden; probably mention the 100% block cost reduction),
The thing I find to be kind of redundant with this list, why have two wizards and three elfs in B tier when you have to pick either one… this doesn’t really offer any sort of difference between them.
I dunno, wasn’t a fan, I tend to run Merc, Iron, Zealot, Handmaiden and they fucking wreck
I run IB, Merc, SotT, and Zealot for legend tome farming and it’s really fastinating.
I realize I'm commenting on a 10 month old post, but, WP is fantastic as a bot, ez S tier. He almost always uses his ult on a teammate that is hit by an assassin , hooked, grabbed by a leech etc.... Also as of the 220 hours I have played I have never sen grail knight scuff his ult like you say, it might be patched out?
that bot couldve shot the special instead of ulting the grabbed teammate
@@BiomechanicalBrick well, my usual bot setup is battle wizard, warrior priest, handmaiden, either merc or grail knight. Ranger veteran should not be in c tier, he is very good if you optimize him well. Zealot should be higher and from my experience handmaiden is not that good.
Hi, just wondering, when you do bots could u show what talents you would use for them to use.
So, in turns of bot priority, it sounds like
Ironbreaker
Merc
Warrior Priest
Battle Wizard
Sister of Thorns

According to the video Unchained instead of bw and witch hunter instead of wp
well gonna test it out because my bots are fuckin ass
Yo waystalker get rid off all anoying ranged special when you are full melee
Now this sucks for all Ironbreaker mains......like me :I
TIL the bots weren't random.
Period.
you can choose a different level of characters for bots?
You sound a lot like Todd Howard
Is this still correct? struggling with legend :Dd
Woe on you for putting unchained so low, she's far better than merc, comparable to IB, sometimes she even outlives him. In my experience unless I'm babysitting merc (or one of the other bots is) he's going down, unchained and ironbreaker bots are good enough so that they can do the babysitting.
why does the WHC portrait look different?
I disagree here with you so much. :-D I play almost always with bots and the best is definitely Unchained - she heals the team she snipes specials and she can survive almost as much as Ironbreaker. Second is Ironbreaker because as you said he never dies. Thirth is Zealot because he is a killing machine - he saved me so many times. And finally fourth is Mercenary because he is like little bit weaker version of Unchained. This setup works very well I can do solo runs with all books even if I play like an idiot. :-D
Grail knight should be higher imo
Horizontal slash ult stops him holding it above his head for ages which is annoying but now avoided
With zero range? Meanwhile Warrior Priest can _actively_ save you from a game-ending situation?
Can't be S-tier.
GK is S tier, this lady is crazy
You have to Babysit your warrior Priest Bot? Um NO.
You have to babysit ALL bots. If you are going in for a bot run, you're going in for a babysitting session. That's how playing with bots works. Which is why your placement of Foot Knight is so strange to me. I play mostly with bots Legend and Cata and my Foot Knight has never made a weird charge. How? Because I babysit him and never let him be in a position where he could do that.

How dare Ranger Veteran be so low.
-Near infinite ammo
-Free potions/bombs
-Or free ales, 15 damage reduction and 15% attack speed forever
-Healing mist on his ult, he gives more temp health than Kruber’s Merc (and attack speed)
-10% chance he won’t waste his healing item
-Has access to a shield for extra survivability (bots are rubbish for damage, may as well tank)
All that just as passives. If you kit him out with a pure support build for the bot, he’s incredible.
100% this.
The reasons given for putting Ranger Veteran less than A make zero sense!
