The boat market has just exploded in recent times. It’s very hard to find a decent sized well equipped boat for under 100K it’s amazing how expensive they have gotten. Good thing is they hold their value & long term financing if you can’t buy it cash.
The reason is banks started financing them for up to 20 years so the prices got jacked way up. I bought a Tracker Pro 175 with a Mercury 45hp in 1997 for $6450 brand new and today it is around $26,500 for a loaded one like i had. When i financed mine i was only 21 and my dad signed with me because boats were considered a luxury in the eyes of lenders and i had very little credit. Now they just want to lock in those payments. I am guilty of considering buying a $90,000 boat and just paying for it probably the rest of my life. What people don't consider though is Insurance, registration, license, where to store it, how to tow it, fuel costs, maintenance and just general upkeep. There is a lot of money that goes into a boat that is not a payment.
