Great glider! Are you going to put up an instructional video? I need to make some of these for my grand kids. They love the Sandpipers I made for them.

Thanks for the comment! Glad your grandkids enjoyed the Sandpipers and were glad you tried them. We’re working on kits for our gliders. So, stay tuned! 😀

    That is a perfect transition

I just love that... When it reaches peak altitude and then “snaps” into a glide. That doesn’t happen to us all that often. Seems more indicative of an indoor glider than an outdoor one!

Hi Daniel, you will find my video of making their Sandpiper on my main channel GrandadIsAnOldMan. It is an excellent flyer.

I designed a few of my own gliders after seeing you last week, while they glide absolutely beautifully they just can't transition and fall out of the sky, any tips?

That is awesome. You’ll have to post your videos! Yeah, Eli, transitioning from high speed launch into a gentle glide takes practice. And I’m still learning, quite frankly. It’ll be hard to illustrate here in text, but I’ll explain what I do for there are many ways of doing this. 1) I am right handed and I prefer holding launcher with left and glider with right. 2) I apply tail tilt for a left turn glide. This means from rear, the tail on right side tilts down more than left side. If you use V-tail like I do, your good. But if you use traditional tail, apply tiny bit of left rudder with the tail tilt. This will help with launch transition. 3) wind direction matters. I typically launch down wind with a substantial right roll and pitch up and expect glider to turn right as it goes upwards. It’ll turn into the wind and do a 180 to 270 degree turn from launch direction. 4) Your goal is to have glider to be rolled out at peak height with enough forward momentum to not stall. You’ll have to play around with launch pitch/roll/power/direction to find the sweet spot.
Even a perfect glider may behave differently from day to day! Hope that helps! Good luck! 😀

Nighthawk Gliders Interesting, I have a feeling my wing design is very stall prone. I'll definitely post some successful flights. Thanks for your help!

Lol. Well, we have left the scene! They may find physical evidence of a glider we lost in a tree there. 😀

Alfred, I’m afraid you might have some broken English here. It is a little hard for me to understand. Sorry! The Tornado does have a chip in the wing if you are pointing that out.
