4.6k 3-way All-In and I have 7-high?! Will I go broke on my 2nd Vlog? | Poker Vlog #2

  • My spiciest video yet! I make top set of Aces twice, get raised when I have JJ on a 9-high flop, battle QQ vs KK, and get check raised after flopping middle set! But all of these victories may pale in comparison to the 4.6k pot I'm involved in when I'm all-in with 7-high ... Will I go broke as a joke after this session? Like and subscribe for future releases!

    If I was to hire a poker coach, I'd consider ya. I like how you do the hand breakdowns. You add in things like player history. You adjust your play depending on whether the table is tight or loose. Maybe if ya can't quite get the channel to 3k followers as fast as you'd like, maybe ya might consider it...

      My VPIP is probably pretty low... What people that watch too much live stream don't understand is that live poker pros spend most of their time folding, and this is even more true now that I've started making these videos. K-10 in any position other than on the button in a limped pot? Instant fold. I rather play 5-6 or 5-7 suited. I rarely run into kicker issues. That's not to say that I'm a knit or never bluff. I just don't play mediocre hands.

    I'm really surprised to hear you make a math error. At 15:00 When you have to call 900 and the pot is 3700, you're putting in 900 to win a pot of 3700, not a pot of 4600. You can't include your call when you're calculating the odds TO call. So you'd be getting just over 4:1 on your call. Now I don't think it's a very bad call with the OESD - although 5c might be bad, and a Tx isn't really as good for you as you would hope... I mean I probably call there because I'm not that good but just sayin, the math is wrong.

    • @somepeoplecanthandlethetruth
      @somepeoplecanthandlethetruth 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I haven’t made it to that point. But if the pot is 3700 and the bet was 900 your call does count in the odds of what you could win. The WIN will be 4600. You call counts as part of the pot.

    • @magiciangob
      @magiciangob 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@somepeoplecanthandlethetruth So if we're flipping a coin, and I offer you fifty cents for your dollar if it is heads, you definitely should call since you're getting 1.50 when you win? The odds are 1:1 and by your logic the payout is 3:2 so it's a 100% call all day!

    • @AeroPlaysPoker
      @AeroPlaysPoker  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      4:1 on your call is the same as saying 1 in 5, which is 20%. There is no math error. It's two different ways of saying the same thing. In your calculation, you are saying you can eat 4 slices of pie if you win, and lose one slice of pie if you lose, aka 4 to 1. In my calculation, I am saying I only need to risk my one slice of pie to take down the entire pot of 5 slices of pie, which will indeed be $4600 when the pot is calculated and pushed to me.
      You are saying I need to risk 900 for a net gain of 3700. I am saying I need to risk 900 for a gross gain of 4600. It's the same thing said two different ways.
      When calculating odds in terms of percentages, you DO include the cost of your call into the main pot, just as you need to include your slice of the pie into the main pie, because the math needs to add up to 100% aka the whole pie. 🥧

    • @AeroPlaysPoker
      @AeroPlaysPoker  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Here, it is actually YOUR calculation which is incorrect in your example. The pot will indeed be $1.50, but the risk is NOT 1:1. In your example, the $1 is two slices of pie that you risk to win 1 slice of pie. Your win odds would be 50%, but you'd be risking 67% of the pot, since 100 into 150 is 67%, thus making it a bad call.

    You seemed to completely discount the fact for some reason that villain could easily have a hand like QQ or other opponent could have random Qx hands like he had here to make one end of your straight outs useless, I feel like the 10 won’t be an out here far more often then you considered…

    • @AeroPlaysPoker
      @AeroPlaysPoker  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      For that particular hand, by the time that I had already called $400 on the the turn, I was pot committed. It was 900 to win a pot of 4600, which is just under 20% of the money. If I think that the bottom end of the straight will be good, that's still 3 outs on top of the 9 for my flush draw. 12 outs gives me a good 28.5% chance to win. You can never know exactly what your opponents are holding, especially in a multi-way pot. In this particular case, if I had known what each of them had, I could have figured out that I only had in fact 7 clean outs, giving me only 17%, but even then, that's not that far off of the 19.5% of the pot that I'm putting in with my last $900. So with only rough math to work off of while not knowing what your opponents actually have, it's almost always equitable to call in that spot.

      @@AeroPlaysPoker I’m not saying the call was incorrect if you felt like the 5 was good, I just feel like you completely glossed over the fact that the 10 completes the bad end of the straight and won’t be good with some frequency. Also, while you briefly mentioned that you hoped the SB didn’t have Q10h, I feel like you sort of glossed over the possibility that either opponent (most likely SB, but seeing that other villain 5 bet 88 then AQ KQh aren’t completely impossible) could have hands such as Q9h Q10h KQh AQh that you are almost completely dead to, I would’ve at least considered this in my thought process even if I did decide to ultimately call

    A lot of inconsistency, run good and luck. Q9s is not a limp UTG, you are right, but it's also not a raise from UTG in a full ring CG. Q9s and JJ raise 20, 88 raise 15 from UTG. Winning $4,6k with less than 17% equity when all in and then explaining how terribly everyone else played their hand. 😉

      lol no kidding… completely disregards the fact that his 10 is dead to any Qx hand… talks about unnecessarily bloating the pot with a set vs a hand that had under 20% equity…. I agree the Q10 cold call and 88 5 bet were bad, but he acts like he outplayed them when all he did was call down with very low equity and got lucky…

  • @kylinwx

    the 67s hand only has 15% odds against sets and straight as the hand played, and drawing dead against a higher flush. The only case you have more than 20% odds is you against a set and an over pair. Seems a negative EV call considering all those 3 scenarios.

    The reason Mariano is liked is because he teaches you the thought process while In hard positions and shows you when he gets lucky or the massive losses..
    You can't win'3m all like Poker Beast who only lasted a year because he showed how awesome he was when he hit the good cards.. we all know you are a grinder.. but we are looking to see a fyll spectrum of ups and downs and card dead tines and when to pick your bluffs because youre card dead and strategy on tells,.. do you ever plan to show your face and personality or are you jist going to read from the script like bradowen.. which is fine i guess? But why have a vlog if you're so successful at poker? Fame? You want to be like rampage,Mariano,brad? And be invited to live streams? You have to show your face on Livestream and you're not willing to show your face?? So it's just really weird and mechanical...
    I like it , i like your show because I'm a rec player attempting to go pro when I feel I have a proper bankroll, and sufficient skill.... I guess im confused on your intent... Are you here to teach poker for free?? There has to be objectives so we can connect on a better with your audience like rec players like me .

      I show both winning and losing hands as long as there is anything to be learned from them. I only have two videos released so far, so it's hard to make an assumption that I only show winning hands. I'm pretty sure in my first video, I show nothing but losing hands at first before I finally make a recovery with the QQ hand. Pretty sure I was down $575 in the first hour and a half.
      Please continue to keep watching and I'm sure you'll run into plenty of losing hands that I discuss. Although I do also recall folding my very last hand of AJ in the first video. I don't go deep into the explanation that time though because I use it as a cliff hanger leading into the second video. If you look at the one Short I currently have out, you'll see that I experience VERY few session losses though, so there's a whole lot more winning hands to show than losing ones.
      As for my motivation for these vlogs, it's the same as most TH-camrs! The same thing we do every day, Pinky. Try and take over the world!
