It´s not only with LL, for ALL comestic procedures there would be a ton of people looking down on the ones who do it, from what I have seen, usually is the people who secretly want to get surgery to look better and look taller who will shame on the ones who are doing it, kind of ironic right? it is an externalization of an inner battle, most beautiful/tall people will pay no heed to it.. in my opinion everybody should be honest with themselves, we all wish to look better, be taller, smarter, richer, etc, except for people who already have all of these things then they would say something like "it doesn´t matter" "it´s all about confidence" "money won´t make you happy" etc, because THEY ALREADY HAVE IT. So let´s be honest, being better looking, taller, richer, will always be better than the alternative, and if there are mostly safe/moral ways to go about it, why not strive for it? it´s the ones who are stigmatizing who need therapy so that they can realize they WANT all of these things with which they are shaming others.

Would be willing to bet big money the shorter someone was, the more “acceptable” they would deem the surgery and visa versa.
I really appreciate this channel, topics like this need more people actually taking the time to get over biases and doing research instead of simply dismissing the surgery and those who need it. Personally I probably won't do it because of the high costs, plus I'm average height where I live. That said I still believe everyone who does it deserves respect. Society tells short men that it is all about personality and that they should just improve themselves in other ways. But what about this surgery is NOT self-improvement? If anything the resolve to take such risk and go through all that pain and recovery is commendable. Far more than most would be willing to endure for sure.

For example, a 5’10” man in the Netherlands is considered short but take a plane to Thailand and he becomes a giant overnight. If CLL was easy to get done and everyone did it, this would eventually raise the avg height thus negating any potential benefit acquired from the procedure. Let me give an example. Say the avg height of a male is 5’9”. You are 5’7” and suddenly find out that CLL is easy to get done and 5cm is considered safe. You decide to get it done and become 5’9”. Eventually, however many men would do what you have done and the average height will begin to increase slowly and become 5’11”. Now you are just as relatively short as before, 2” under average. As of right now the procedure is risky, difficult, and brutal so only maybe a couple hundred people around the world get CLL done per year.
