The Digboi Refinery was set up at Digboi in 1901 by Assam Oil Company Ltd. The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) took over the refinery and marketing management of Assam Oil Company Ltd. with effect from 1981 and created a separate division. This division has both refinery and marketing operations. The refinery at Digboi had an installed capacity 0.50 million tonnes per year. The refining capacity of the refinery was increased to 0.65 million tonnes per year by modernization of refinery in July, 1996. A new delayed Coking Unit of 170,000 tonnes per year capacity was commissioned in 1999

Just a clarification on 12:36
1.Oil India Limited(OIL) & ONGC both are engaged in exploration, development and production of crude oil and gas in Assam.
2.That gas blowout incident on drilling well you mentioned,happened under OIL outsourced John Energy Ltd on 2020.Not ONGC as you mentioned.
3.Oil & gas exploration and production are going on full swing in Digboi's nearby areas.Upper Assam is not dry yet.
Though I am Gurkha from Assam but I love everything about Assam whether Its culture, language, traditional dresscode. The most amazing thing about Assam is hospitality ! A saying goes in Assam that is even if a thief comes to your home for burglary but we in Assam first ask him for water,tea etc then ask for purpose of his visit. Am so proud of being an Assamese.

The brass thing gifted to you along with the Gamusa is called "Xorahi". It's a traditional plate used in the olden days when no tables existed and everyone used to sit on a pira (pidha in Hindi). Even till date it is used to serve Tamul Pan to guests and traditionally much more used in Marriages to offer saunf/suppari to guests (ideally by the bride). In some villages, in very old families, they'll serve you Jalpan (nasta) in xorahi. Also, Naga's have similar utensil made of wood.
Btw Dipanshu, what you are call "Supari ka paid" in some of your earlier videos is "Tamul ka paid". Tamul is the Beetal Nut (Areca Nut). Tamul when cut into small pieces /thin slices, it's called Supari.

Btw oil is still vry much found in the adjoining districts of Upper assam. There are some areas like Dinjan, Baghjan, Sessoni, Makum, etc where you get crude oil just by digging 1m into the ground..
