I have this windscreen. I think is amazing. I sugest to not change to high or down while driving, because the system do not support. Just when u r stopped. I had to change the windscreen support because of that. I used this windscreen to trip to Ushuaia and the low temp, but now i love in summer too. Good video.

Thank you for the video. I have an MRA Vario Touring screen with an adjustable spoiler, which I've had it on my last three bikes (1 GS and 2 GSAs). I'm 6' 2" and it suits me perfectly as the spoiler allows me to control the airflow over my helmet. They're worth taking a look at. Cheers, Andy.

I got a Madstad with bracket for my ‘15 R1200GS. I followed the table on their website for the windscreen height based on my height. Works well and I can see over it fine. The trick is with the bracket angle adjustment to get the airflow above your helmet.

Very helpful review. I just bought a used R1200GS. The previous owner had swapped the screen for the Puig, but mounted the smoked version. Everyone who test rode the bike commented on how dangerous this is. There's essentially a blank rectangle of 60' in front of you. When I finished purchasing the bike Saturday, it was after dark, and I rode 40 miles up to my friends' place in the Sierra Foothills (freeway and winding country roads). By the time I arrived, there was NO doubt this thing was going to get replaced. I'm glad I watched this, because I was not sure what I was going to replace it with. Now, I've just ordered the clear version from Revzilla. PLEASE NOTE: For those who don't already belong to the BMW universe, it was not at all clear that buying a replacement windscreen meant the acrylic part ONLY! I was concerned that for $130, I was going to have to buy the hardware too! Took me the morning to figure out what may be obvious to the rest of you: you're only buying the screen. In any case, your comment about "no wind" is correct. I found myself doing 85mph on I-80, disbelieving the speedo. It was a hell of a lot less turbulent than my Tiger 900! I totally recommend this windscreen for touring!

Goes to show what I know; for me the screen is a deflector that I look just over the top edge, not through it. Seems to work just fine and I like the smoked version. Different strokes…

I drive a BMW GS 1200 adventure and changed my shield for a bigger one as I was fed up of bugs flying into my face. I went for a V-stream. This is fine but there are lots of cracks around the fixing holes and the shape of the screen concentrates sunlight onto the instrument housing and has actually melted it in places. I'm wary of short screens - I had a collision many years ago and the screen ruptured into a jagged edge that fortunately missed my neck. My view is better to hit a large screen with your helmet than have that edge going into your neck in a very lethal karate chop to the adam's apple.

I installed mine last weekend, it's so much better. I'm 1m97 and had the GSA installed on the R1200GS LC (previous owner did), and I got so much wind on the front and side of my helmet, couldn't even keep my visor open at 40km/h at highest position. Now with the PUIG installed, it's the same height on the lowest position as the GSA screen on highest. I can ride 120km/h now without even get some wind in my eyes (or atleast a little). Mounted my GoPro on my chin, much better sound quality now that all the wind on my helmet is gone. I still get enough wind on my body to get cooling. For me, it was worth the €120. Had to install the extra support brackets, otherwise it would shake to much. In total this costed me €170, so worth it. I can even ride highway without having windnoise around my ear, so barely earplugs needed for highway.

I’ve had this screen in my cart at Revzilla several times but keep hesitating on ordering it. I’m 5’10” and sounds like I wouldn’t have to adjust it at all. I like to ride with an Arai XD-4 when the sun is lower in the horizon but the buffeting makes it almost unusable. Sounds like I should get this screen based on your feedback. I’ve ridden with a GSA screen before and while it is better than the stock GS screen, it isn’t better enough for me to spend more to get one.

I just added this touring w/s in light smoke tint. I think the light smoke will help keep the TFT and GPS a little cooler on hot sunny days. I am 6’3 and my wife is 5’11. This screen is much better for us than the stock w/s. It reduces buffeting and wind feedback from my wife’s Sena intercom. If you’re over 6’ tall it maybe worth considering this w/s.
    Safe riding!

I have the Puig touring on my GSA, in hot weather it can be too protective but much better airflow than the standard. I am wondering what the difference between the Puig Touring and the Wunderlich Marathon windshields are... With the Puig windshield and the appropriate Puig support brackets being half the price the question here is what does the Wunderlich product deliver being the more premium contender... now from the look and measurements the Wunderlich is a little shorter but wider on the top... I know that the stock GSA windshield is not an option with me being a 90 percent road rider... I have bought Wunderlich products before and know that fit and finish are superior to a lot of other similar products...

I installed that Puig windshield on my 2016 GS and then removed it and returned it after one ride. Basically, it didn't change the buffeting in the low position and killed all cooling in the high position. So I am back to the original BMW windshield. The issue I have is not so much buffeting over the top of the helmet, but wind swirl between the windshield and the bottom of my helmet. I have experimented with multiple helmets and keep coming back to my Shoei RF 1200, which is not working well. I am curious as to what you are using.

I have the large Touratech screen for the GSA, and it's great but @Thys Dreyer you're right about the counter arms breaking, I am currently replacing one because it broke. The large screen is also very "floppy" in either the up or down position, because those support arms are not terribly strong. I bought some aftermarket support brackets from Cymarc that I hope will solve that problem. I really don't care if the height adjustability takes a bit longer, I didn't find myself regularly going between the up and down position, anyway, only when it's cold do I even want the high position. I replaced the original windscreen by one of Ztechnik but it is not better than the original one while it is even larger than the original.

Puig offers several different sizes for the GS. I'm trying to understand why you bought the Touring option if you didn't want the tallest, widest version?

You would think that these motorcycle manufacturers could design a windscreen that would work properly without us having to spend money on an aftermarket windscreen. when the aftermarket windscreen doesn't give you much improvement over the stock. windscreen. I have a feeling that the aftermarket companies are in cahoots with the motorcycle manufacturers.

I can't believe this guy went through all this trouble of mounting, filming, editing, uploading, and wouldn't even give the adjuster a few twists to test the performance in the high position. Hell, maybe it would vibrate like mad. It would be good info to know...

Not really a complete review since you didn’t run it in the high position. I have a GSA and the factory windshield can’t be raised when traveling over about 50mph.

I'll buy it from you! Will it fit my 2012 1200GS A? If it was where you wanted it, it would not be touring would it? Oh, and if you installed and used it, you shouldn't return it guy.

Hey, nice vid, but I don't get your bewilderment that the screen is tall- they designed it that way because there are tall people in the world like me who ride a GS who need it to be that tall...

Rob Libbert Hi, tall screens are ok, but I don’t like looking through them. I have turned my tracer 900gt into a naked bike, because of terrible wind buffet from the screen.

Touring windscreen (like that puig) are usually designed for the best wind protection, so I have no idea why you’re complaining.

Was thinking the same. Also there are taller riders than you out there and the standard screen also isn’t designed to be adjusted at highway speeds. Seems like an amazing product to me as it also suits the oem style.
