Thank you for explaining the difference in the SkillSquare and Stair Gauge. You really answered all my questions! All these tools are very interesting, and appear of the best quality, but unfortunately, I already own a number of Swanson rafter squares and plenty of other measuring tools that do pretty much the same thing. In fact I made a number of my own angle guide clamps from a 1/2" hex standoffs, with a slot cut into it and 10-32 thumb screw. If they get lost, and they do, they're only a few bucks. I do like your SkillSquare, another example of excellent engineering and workmanship.
Honestly, my Swanson rafter square meets my needs except for one feature which I use for more often than anything else. That's to guide a circular saw for crosscuts. I'm not the only one who uses a rafter square this way, and I could bet your SkillSquare customers do too. Here's my request, Woodpeckers, please make a better rafter type square for guiding a circular saw. One that can be clamped down, and be wide enough to get a good grip, as well as guide the saw before and after the cut. Really, using a rafter square for crosscutting, while common, isn't the safest or proper use of such tool.

I would just make a 3/8" thick stop version. A 3/8" version would be used attached the Delve Squares and could then be placed inside cabinets and would be flat. This would be perfect for quickly verifying that the cabinet interiors were square. The 1/4" thick stop version could also do this, but it appears that the 1/4" versions isn't quite a 1/4", but a bit less. Standard stair gauges from the hardware store, are about 1/8" thick. I would then sell them in the different size individually or in a set. If that got made, I would buy the 3/8" and 1/4" versions.

Hi, thank you for the deep dive, I have the metric job site XT one. I was wondering if the holes in the square have a specific function? And as a metric user on job sites we generally use a lot of half and whole cm markings (5 en 10 mm) but above the 8 cm you only have 2 mm increments so that would be my only pet peeve, I personally liked having half and whole cm pencil lines for the whole square. Not that I am mad, just as a user feedback, thanks.

Not really. They're for holding the square while it is being machined.

    Two observations:
    1. You do a super good job of demonstrating and explaining the tools.
    2. As a old guy who has battled heart disease for forty years, your heart will love you exceedingly much if you were to lose about 100 pounds. The way to do that is to change your eating habits to include more protein, more fruits and vegetables, and fewer carbs. Not NO CARBS, just fewer.

Maybe he’s happy the way he is. It’s not everyone’s goal to live to be 100. Maybe he’d rather be happy for 75-80 than miserable to 100!

the extra deep stair gauge seems redundant when the pivot point on the square isn't extra deep.
