I love that you re-use foil. We do that and I also wash out then re-use plastic zip bags (though I hate using these at all and won't be buying them anymore. Sometimes it's a fuss with my family in terms of what they're used to and what's convenient, but we gotta remind ourselves that humanity has survived BECAUSE OF our adaptability and that we / they can adapt to this too 😉).
You know, it's funny... Have you ever had that thing where you'll hear something from various people (sometimes even over years) but then one day you hear it from someone and you're suddenly like OH... NOW I get it! 🤦🏼‍♀ (Marianne Williamson, back in the day when her lectures were on cassette tapes - I'm aging myself here lol - used to say this was an experience of something dropping through from the head to the heart where we can take it in in a deeper and fuller way). I had that moment with this video today. So wild. I've been watching your videos for what feels like forever, and none of what you're talking about really is *new* to me, per se, but something about today (with the pan and its handle) really dropped through. I just wanted you to know that you're having an impact. Even in "just" sharing your day-to-day life, how you do things, what you're thinking about, etc... is having an impact out here. Thanks, Kate. 🥰

It's so refreshing to see a REAL kitchen in a REAL house with a REAL family doing all the things. Love everything about your family and the way you live. I've been watching since Coffee with Kate. So glad you're back.

I always screw up beans on the stove. I use the crockpot now. Set and forget.

Beloved, it's so good to hear from you. Aren't you a busy bee with the daily uploads. I can't keep up😁. As for me and my house we're doing what I refer to as our year in review. Going over all our accomplishment, what worked, what didn't work, what areas we need improve upon. I was inspired by the channel The Fall Co Family to expand our home library. Lately, we've enjoyed learning new words from the book The Dictionary of Difficult Word and The GRE Vocabulary Flash Review. I was so over hearing my children use the words"bro" and "like" every 13 seconds 🤨. Now that it's cold in my neck of the woods I'm no longer able to do my daily walks so I purchased a second hand stepper for $12 and I really like it. I've also discover a new workout routine called Primal or Animal Movements. Alright, darling you and the family be blessed and take care.

I am very glad about your newest kitchen appliance. I hope "she" turns out being a good addition to your home. And it's nice that you were able to help your local librarian too...really great timing for both of you.

Hi Kate, that’s the drawback to electric stoves. I used to have one in our other house we moved from. We live in Florida with lots of blusters and storms and we live in the country, so when something knocks our power out it can take awhile for them to get on it and turn it back on. Here, we have gas and it doesn’t matter if the power goes out. I can keep on cooking with a few battery lights hooked up so I can see. We also, as I’m sure you know have hurricanes and the power has been out on us for over two weeks at the time. Gas gives you peace of mind. Otherwise you need camping stoves or cook over an open fire. Neither appeals to me. So I don’t mind cooking on electric but its not a good option where the power goes out frequently.🤷‍♀️

@@barbarawinfree4538 I also prefer the gas stoves for much the same reason. I was bummed to hear that they’re trying keep them from being used indoors now or something? We will keep ours as long as we can, that’s for sure.

I have had gas stoves and electric stoves over the years. I always preferred gas. I have paid for solar on my home but I still prefer a gas stove. What I do is I pay the same amount every month to my gas company all year long and I never end up with an astronomical bill even in winter months. I have been paying 40 to $50 per month all year and in my winter months I currently have a $121 credit.

Just had that happen to my dryer too-it’s a door sensor-piece is easy to replace, saw on TH-cam..should cost under $20…sadly I had repairman come (watched him like a hawk in case it happens again) and he charged $120 to just come in door and access situation

Hi Kate! You are a burrito making machine!
I too got rid of a full size piano after moving it from place to place over the years as well as a keyboard/piano
I took lessons from age 10-17 and continued to play awhile but not really as an adult
The keyboard I bought to replace I played maybe twice
    Waste of $ and space
I’m sure the people who got both got much more joy out of them !
Glad you are getting used to your electric stove
After living here for 10 years and having electric after having gas for over 25 years up north I still don’t like mine but oh well
    Have a great weekend Kate!
    Hi from SC.💕😊🏝️

This must be the month for dryers to act up. Mine, the tumbler stopped tumbling and all I hear is a hum when I turn it on.

Everytime our power goes out hubby shouts about he doesn't pay Edison to live like he's Amish!! Lol
You're right on target about the meat servings. Many of us eat it 3 times a day with each meal. That's about what's healthy for a week!
I love my gas stove for these coffee emergencies! But gas here is a lot more affordable.

These are a great idea! I love how many ingredients you have, to make them so healthy. What are the heating instructions? Do they need defrosting before heating?

      Just microwave or toaster oven

I've mentioned it beforehand, but I'm still going to say it again.
I really hope your family members... your "tribe"... truly appreciate EVERYTHING you do for them, Kate🤗.
I appreciate being able to spend some time with you today...feeling unsettled and kind of "outside the lines" (re: like in a coloring book).
Sounds silly, I think, but it's genuinely how I am going today. A friend, the right friend, is the difference between being able to find balance
or getting caught up in a whirl wind.
    Until next time...
