  • This video explains that meter accuracy is not just the basic accuracy listed on the meter packaging. After watching this video you will know how accurate your meter really is.
    Here is a link to a video on what Display Counts are:

    It's plus or minus so you don't know if your reading is above or below actual. Sort of a best guess meter wise.

    How about % against Full Scale on Multimeter analog?

      Thank You for the comment. I would enjoy doing that. When I stop working 12 Hours a day at my current job, I plan to reach via this TH-cam channel full time. I wish I had more free time to post videos way more often.

    If you manual range a reading to get higher resolution does that also increase the accuracy with percentage and count? Essentially the 48v reading on the klein @5:30 read 048.1V Did it auto range out of it's highest resolution?

    • @MultiMeterChannel
      @MultiMeterChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Auto ranging meters will always range to the best resolution they can. The Klein meter was only 4000 count, so it can only read 2 decimal places up to 40 Volts. Once you go over 40 Volts, it will switch to the next range with only 1 decimal point. If you used the “Range” button to force the meter into the 2 decimal range, it would just display “OL” when trying to read 48 Volts. The only good purpose for the Range button is to force a range for faster readings. It won’t help for resolution.

    1% accuracy is calulated always of the full scale range: So for 24V it is 1% of 40V range so 0,4V NOT 1% of 24V->0,24V!

      Depends if we are talking about % of full scale of % of reading. It's better option to buy multimeter that has accuracy in % of reading.
