Great Video! I really enjoyed it and the fried catfish looked delicious, never thought to add Old Bay to it but will definitely be trying it out. Thanks and God Bless! 🙏🎣
Those nuggets looked good! I haven't had any blue cat in a while. I think it's time to harvest a few. These days, I usually throw back the channels and native cats and only keep the blues. If you have time, and want some fresh bait, you can usually hit a local pond for bluegill. Usually, fresh bluegill will stay on the hook better than frozen LY. However, either will work for catching catfish.
That is exactly what we do! Throw back the channels and keep the blue cats. Theres a local pond in Calvert county where we go to get fresh bluegill for bait sometimes. They seem to prefer cut bluegill over other baits on most days.
The channel is much closer to the other side in that area but you dont need the Channel to catch em. Them Blue Cats are delicious. We target them all the time and enjoy them for the Family Fish Fries. PS. you might find a few Sharks Teeth there also. GREAT Video. Tight Lines from Crabby Daddy. GOD BLESS
By the way I've done a few taste tests of Blue Cats against Rockfish. Every single time the Catfish wins hands down. I fish the Patuxent alot because that's where I live and have seen the damage over the years of this invasive species so please ,everyone go out and get ya some. They are delicious.
Parboil til meat falls apart......use old bay crabcake recipe.....fry or broil and be surprised how well they turn out. Not as good as real crabcakes....but what is?
Terrific video, I like your outdoor sink and fish cleaning area.

Thank you for the comment! Next time I am there I will have to look for some teeth! Tight lines!
Good video
Thanks!
Don't be afraid to handle that cat with your hands SISSY .
Invest in rod holders. It is cheaper than replacing rods and reels
Ron in Los Angeles
Where is that place?
If you can't beat 'em, eat 'em! Blue catfish almost as good to eat as blue crab! 😊
Awesome to the point video thank you.
I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS...EVEN THOUGH THE BLUE CATFISH THERE IS AN INVASIVE SPECIES...THEY ARE GOOD EATIN'.
Sorry about the glare? THAT makes the video good dude.

I've got to agree with you there! We have found that blue catfish is delicious and keep them every chance we get.
Good job!
Careful with them blues. They will bite down twist and remove skin from your thumb or fingers way more than a channel or flat head.
Im with u

I’m really not a believer that blue cats are destroying the bay
Remove them all. Good work
Thank you!
Great video!!! I'm just getting into fishing for catfish, you mentioned tidal waters, I'm trying to find places that I can fish from the bank 😢😢😢😢
