Sir, in another classification of neuropathy we read as Axonal v/s Demyelinating. Are all large fibre neuropathies demyelinating and similarly small fibre neuropathies are axonal? Is this the concept ?
Sir in case of small fiber neuropathy, we use small fibers for nerve conduction studies, If fibers are already small so the only thing we notice is decreased amplitude in NCS, and in case of large fiber neuropathy we use large fibers for conduction delay ? Or do. We only check large fibers to look for condution delay and amplitude reduction ? I have read it that during NCS studies we do large fibers and it may be normal, as Dm effects the small fibers, that means the NCS may be normal in case of small fibers.. So that's the clinical diagnosis than only.. Kindly elaborate which fibers are used for DM? THANKS.
