We walk round Salford Quays and Media City UK where the BBC and ITV studios are based, and the Quayside Media. Gimbal Walk TV takes a walk around Media City to see what's there.
It's our first time in Media City and Salford Quays (although we have filmed Manchester before) so it is great to get the camera out and head down to see this brand new development to see what's there and have a look at the bars, restaurants, apartments, offices and the Manchester Ship Canal that runs through it
MediaCity is also home to the biggest television studios in Europe and some of the nation's favourite shows are made here, including Coronation Street, The Voice, Match of the Day and Blue Peter.
Salford Quays is an area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England, near the end of the Manchester Ship Canal. Previously the site of Salford Docks, it became one of the first and largest urban regeneration projects in the United Kingdom following the closure of the dockyards in 1982
The site is the home of BBC Children's (CBeebies and CBBC) and BBC Sport, BBC Radio 5 Live and 6Music, as well as BBC Radio Manchester and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. BBC Breakfast, Match of the Day, Blue Peter, Mastermind, North West Tonight are just some of the programmes which come from MediaCityUK.
MediaCityUK is a 200-acre (81 ha) mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The project was developed by Peel Media; its principal tenants are media organisations and the Quayside MediaCityUK shopping centre.
Coronation Street is currently filmed on a set at MediaCity UK in Salford, Manchester - where it's been since November 2013.
Salford is the name of a metropolitan borough in the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester.

Quay House is the BBC's 135,000-square-foot main building from where BBC Breakfast, Match of the Day, BBC Radio 5 Live, North West Tonight and BBC Radio Manchester are broadcast.
Bridge House is where Blue Peter, Mastermind, Dragons' Den, CBBC, and BBC Bitesize are produced.
Dock House contains the BBC's Research & Development and Religion & Ethics departments.
The Orange Tower is a glazed structure which houses departments from the University of Salford on three floors and on seven floors, staff from ITV Granada.
Dock10 contains seven high-definition studios. It is claimed by Peel Media to be the largest such facility in Europe.
The seven studios vary in size; the large studios are on the ground floor, and the smaller studios on the first floor.
The Pie Factory (now closed) occupied the former Freshbake factory, which after closing in 2006, was converted by Peel Media into a TV, film and commercial production facility. It was the first working studio complex at MediaCityUK.
The Greenhouse designed by architects Stephenson Bell, is a refurbished three-storey office block that has been converted into small, flexible office suites for small companies in the media and creative industries.
TheHeart and NumberOne are the residential elements of the development, providing 378 apartments in two tower blocks.

Blue & White Towers two buildings ranging up to 16 storeys. The blue building contains The Landing, while the white building is home to MediaCityUK's Holiday Inn hotel.

A very impressive place indeed, and I'd no idea how vast it is. It looks good all round with those ultra modern buildings, and some of the old docks are still evident. Excellent filming, and many thanks for giving us an insight into this complex.

The reason TH-camrs use music is to either cover total silence, horrific wind noise, or copyright music being played around the place (from bars or stages etc)

@@GimbalWalkTV not sure where your based but if nr manchester or london then just do a search for TV show audiance tickets they are free you just apply, obviously for the most popular shows like strictly, BGT, DOI, and the masked singer /dancer theres normaly a random draw. But for less popular shows you can get in, also for new and pilot shows.
The address is wrong. Salford Quays is located in Salford, not Manchester.
