That sound brings back so many memories, it’s like listening to a song from my childhood. Awesome to see modern day whips being performed on this old beauty too 😭🤘
i had an 89' RM 80.. rebuilt engine modern plastics .. was the best bike i ever had growing up.. used it to race in early 2000's kept up with all the new bikes.. miss my RM 80 il never forget her ❤️
I had a 91 as well.. it was a great bike. Changed to Kawasaki KX250 after and regretted it. Tried to find another 91-92 RM 250 in good shape a couple years later and just couldn't seem to find a good one in my area.
Bravo! I have 12 different rm 250 of 80’s and 90’s and by far the 89-92 model is well balanced and very manageable. You are fast and for those running recent models..you have to first handle these monsters to feel the real mx bikes power!
@@jimmyburris5007 I just bought one and will do a complete rebuild on it. I can’t wait to get started. Hopefully I’ll get some rides in before the end of the world as we knew it.
Grew up in the 80's so I will forever be a byest 2 stroke junkie! Great stuff, you had to be a bit more of a badass back in the day to push the max, you also felt every bit of it at the end of the day though!
True that. But... A well groomed and watered mx course designed by an experienced builder is ABSOLUTELY a requirement for THIS kind of fun. Available to only a relatively select FEW human beings. Keeping it real. LOL. AWESOME VIDEO!!!
i agree with you on that you are absolutly right you do not need a fancy new bike to go out and have fun. I recently bought a 2000 Rm250 to fix up with my older brother and its fine the way it is at some point I will buy new stuff for it but for now I am just going to ride it the way it is and have fun.
Exactly!! I got a 1993 RM 250 with a Wiseco piston, Boyesen rad valve(W/pro-carbon reeds) and a full FMF exhaust! It's a great bike!! Rips hard!! Snap of the Power band will pull your arms out of their sockets!! LMAO
Awesome. My first bike was a 1984 Yamaha. I rode it again the other day after the past few years on a modern bike, and honestly, it was so much fun. Only let down were the crappy old drum breaks
Thank You As The original owner of a 1991 Rm250 that i still have today, (almost identical) Its awesome to see this heavy ass MXER ridden like it was meant to be...WFO! I can relate to how the suspension feels as I watch this video. lol... Well Done sir!
I had a used 89' RM250 put a FMF pipe on it pulled a holeshot in the 250 C class rounded the 1st turn and there was a huge double I had 39 bikes behind me grabbed 3rd and cleared it.
@Aaron Coughman well the jumps are part of the evolution of the sport. Either way nobody scrubbed or whipped the bike around like that back then. I don't know I just think it's cool is all.
Digging that carbon fiber silencer. You could definitely tell it doesn't have a stabilizer with the bike getting squirrelly on him. Wouldn't trade my '89 RM for nothing.
Sweet, I love the old rm's, had a few 250's and one 88' rm80 when I was a kid. The sound they make is very identifiable. I didn't like the non-inverted standard style of forks on those 96'-98' models, but if you could afford to change them out, the bike was golden, well after a pipe and reeds, and a few little other mods, they've always handled great tho.
Very nice track, good rider, this is what Motocross is, the good old times, i wish it comes back. Great Video. When you can ride a 2 stroke you can ride every Bike. But when you rode thumper you can't rode smoker.
Suspension is fully stock. The only thing modified is custom made exhaust, factory rear swing arm and a lot of custom carbon parts. And yea this sound will never get old!
A pure gold suzuki rm 250 two stroker the most beautifull model race bike that flies like a eagle and motocross and suzuki always a champion bike and sport
Absolutely...all that new fandangled technology is no replacement for shear skill ...passion...and a big set of balls to take on any obstacle that is thrown in your way!! Riding 2 strokes makes u a better rider ...you cant be lazy and keep it in the same gear all the time...your proactive hyper aware state of mind is crucial to becoming a better rider and it seems newer bikes are taking all the skill that riders have and letting them be lazy and distracted and making them trade in their potential with the modern excesses of convenience and pampery at the expense of you not becoming the best you can be....that is if you let it....the bikes just do everything for you these days...almost like the bikes are riding us like an automated transport vehicle instead of us riding the bike...like on a trolley on a sight seeing tour....whats next...bikes that talk to you as some kind of pet....pat it on thr bars and it will even go bring you a beer while u sit around becoming fat and lazy!!! Lol
Holly shit great vid its so nice to see a guy who rides a rm the way they should be ridden . I would like to see this guy show up at my local track and spank all the 450 vets in my class everyone shits on suzukis so bad it drives me nuts RM bikes are so cool i have a 1982 RM 250 and a 2023 RMZ 450 but you have to just love the sound of that sweet 1989 RM 250.
Fellow 89 rm 250 rider here. Amazing bike.
Watching a talented rider letting it rip on a two smoker is a thing of beauty!
I have a 1998 RM 250 LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!
That sound brings back so many memories, it’s like listening to a song from my childhood. Awesome to see modern day whips being performed on this old beauty too 😭🤘
I don't think I've seen someone shred an old bike like that before. Awesome
You oughta check out brett cue 365 on guy coopers collection. He shreds a cr 460.
Not since 1989..Lol
@@drodization fair enough 😂

I had a 91 RM 250. Loved that thing. 2 stroke for life.
Still you sold it...
I had a 91 as well.. it was a great bike. Changed to Kawasaki KX250 after and regretted it. Tried to find another 91-92 RM 250 in good shape a couple years later and just couldn't seem to find a good one in my area.
This is the last bike Bob Hannah raced at the 1989 Unadilla 250 USGP.
This is a great video on how to ride a 2 stroke. That generation RM was awesome.
Your bike looks and sounds awesome👍🏼
Track is heaven on earth👍🏼
Now that's awesome I love the old bikes I miss hearing the old 2 strokes in the Bush
Nice distinctive note of an old 250 engine
They sound so much different than the new ones not especially in the low rpm and idle range
Its that ping n ring.
Listening to this with my earphones on sounds like I am on the bike. Great audio.

OMG I love that year! Suspension is so plush!
Old school two strokes are like cocaine so addicting
m a and only continue to get worse as they are getting harder to find
30 years later I still want my old bike back
Is a 91 RM 250 Suzuki worth paying $3,000 worth
@@jimmyburris5007 I just bought one and will do a complete rebuild on it. I can’t wait to get started. Hopefully I’ll get some rides in before the end of the world as we knew it.

I own 89 RM250 myself and it's honestly my favorite bike to ride
My RM sits in my living room. That’s how much I love it👍🏼
It’s good to be the King 👑
Use to have one of these back in the Early 90's she was absolutely brilliant 👏. Good old days, also had a couple of Yamah YZ 125's.
You did that bike justice my man.
I loved the sling shots in my youth.
Awsome sound track and a fantastic smell!
Awesome. My first bike was a 1984 Yamaha. I rode it again the other day after the past few years on a modern bike, and honestly, it was so much fun. Only let down were the crappy old drum breaks
Awesome video! I had a 1991 Rm250. I loved it.
Very nice vid, can't wait for my first ride back on the RM😁 sounds great
Dude was throwing Grated Cheese like it was Taco Tuesday
Had the sub titles on and it kept saying music and applause...sounds about right
This video not only sounds good, but smells great too! The Castor 927 is literally dripping from the speakers.

it's still got it even after all these years! lol
Proper riding on a proper bike👍

Sweet music to my ears

Can't believe he can ride this bike the way he is. Just goes to show you how much motocross has evolved in 29 years!
@Aaron Coughman well the jumps are part of the evolution of the sport. Either way nobody scrubbed or whipped the bike around like that back then. I don't know I just think it's cool is all.

2020 style on an 80s bike is just so badass for some reason
Nice bike, awesome ride and awesome track.
It's the first time I can feel the texture of the ground on a video!

No one beating that guy in the pre 90s class
Before you play this vid you may want to Bluetooth to your Bose and then turn it up. Awesome vid 🤟✊🤸♀️🙏
Pretty amazing from a 30 YEAR OLD bike
This dude doesnt need to ripp off the dust from this 29 year old Queen ... there never was dust on it because its a 2Smoker ! Great ride man
Cheers and Bravo!!!! This video gave me tingles 🎶
5 min de pure bonheur 🤩

A pure gold suzuki rm 250 two stroker the most beautifull model race bike that flies like a eagle and motocross and suzuki always a champion bike and sport
Love it when the bike is older than the rider
1990 rm graphic. Not complaining just something I noticed. They could carve inside of anything else made back then.
Factory bikes had that graphic in 1989. This bike is build like factory bike with some factory parts.
@@mxsloTV what's wrong with me, I can't find a single example of an 89 factory bike with 90 graphics in supercross or motocross.
try 95 or 96.... who cares.... but the rite 89 ones are sweet....
I rm 250 1992 very good
I think he likes it!
Sounds ace
You ain't mixin gas, you ain't haulin ass.

Great vid,did you use the stock suspension? How was it finding parts when you restored that baby
The suspension is fully stock. The rider sad that front forks are a litle bit soft but overall ok.
In 1990 i had a used one and in 92 I had a 91’ 125
B-e-a-u-tiful! 😎 track looks mint, any ideas what country it is?
The track is in Croatia EU, near village Ribnik. If zou type in google maps "motocross ribnik" it will find it.
zdrav mocen motor...
Did you reserve the track?
Love the vintage shred, 2 strokes forever
That bike had to take the rest of the season off after that modern day a$$ woopin.
❤
BLUE FRAME AND FULL FLOATER SUSPENSION!!!!!
I had an 89 that i did moto and hare scrambles on. It was a pretty good bike. Could have used more low ens and a litter smoother power
look at the loam at 1:10. perfect soil
Great video work. What camera and lens?
If 960(or so) more people watch it'll be at 89,000 views because 89,000, 1989 RM250
Dam
Sound good !!!!
If only you could smell the two stroke oil thru TH-cam ..ahhhhh..
