I was really excited to sit with Bruce to dig deeper into this ground of wisdom, 33 years guys, 33 years, let that sink in, Bruce has been married for as long as I've been alive... Most of us hit the first fight in the first year of marriage and our minds are flooded with doubts that we will never make it past 5 years, so how do we get to 33 years, YOH?
There is nothing off bounce, I think for me (not having a present father) this conversation served as a crucial pitstop in my marriage journey, to sit with an older husband who is sooooo real and open encouraged me hard!!! A lot of key take aways from this episode, one that I want to point out is this, IT IS POSSIBLE, ITS POSSIBLE, to love well, to fail forward, to care, to grow, to be the kind of husband your wife will appreciate truly!!!

What he said at 43:10 - I used to be quite resentful of the idea of love being a choice, I wanted fuzzy feelings 24/7. But no-one feels like that about anything. The older I get and the more I see my own shortcomings, the more I enjoy the idea of choosing one another despite a challenging or simply "out of love" season. There is so much beauty and simplicity in that vs hoping to feel the fireworks and butterflies every morning.

Cause it doesn't sound as sweet as, "I burn for you" 😅 but like you said no one feels mushy love for anything 24/7 and I can see the sweetness and beauty in choosing each other daily despite trouble or feelings
I've come to terms with my husband not wanting to watch podcasts with me. Even the spiritual journey I'm going to embark on, I've decided that he will join me when he is ready. If he does not want to pray with me, watch this podcast with me or attend church with me it's okay, that's my journey and he has his own ways of keeping our union strong. It does not mean he loves me any less. Men are just different and not the sharpest knives on the block as Bruce said. I just hope the algorithm pushes this kind of content to him until he finally watches lol.
It's not an easy journey when a married couple is not fully aligned.Praying that God in his own time will do the work that needs to be done to bring you closer together and stronger. Men are very disappointing,on this channel most of the comments are from women while the channel suppose to teach us men to better husbands to our wives and better fathers to our kids, there's so much wisdom spoken here i really wish more men can watch this
