That Mexican doll house is GORGEOUS! And that little Family Chappel is so acurate recreating the old Latin Mass arrangement of the altar and custody of the Blessed Sacrament and so well made, that Mass was known as Tridentine Mass and was the ordinary form of the Catholic Mass until 1969. The kitchen with its clay pots is so cute and acurate too as the rest of the house. By de way, Biscayan-style cod, green salads, fruit sweets, flan, turkey, vegetable soups, warm fruit punch, vanilla atole, champurrado (chocolate atole), warm chocolate with milk, meat tamales and sweet tamales, pork, among many others are some of the traditional Mexican foods for Christmas dinner on Dec. 24 after the traditional midnight Christmas Mass, and that's why the priest is there in the chapel waiting for everyone to start the Christmas Mass.
Thank you so much - so glad that you enjoyed the tour. Also very happy to hear that you love your dollhouse, but Victor deserves all the credit for its arrival - he persevered the entire way, for you, Shirley. We hope the house will continue to bring you many happy hours....our sincere thanks to you both. David and Michael :-)
What a lovely treat to view such astonishing houses. They are so exquisite. I marvel at the minute items the tea sets the lace table wear the decorations and even the people of the houses who kindly allowed us to peek inside their world. Thankyou Michael and David for sharing another special video. Wishing you both a wonderful and happy New Year xx
This is simply wonderful..gave me some good ideas for my miniature diversity dolls of Barbie..I use cardboard boxes and turn them into doll rooms..So the miniatures in this video gave me wonderful ideas..
Thoroughly enjoyed this dollhouse tour. Thank you so much for preserving them and sharing them with the world. The German house is a particular delight!
Oh my giddy Aunt, the craftmanship is exceptional, no wonder you both love the home so much, thank you for sharing this very precious piece of history with us . Subscribed !
I really enjoyed your tour, thank you so much! I have a salt box dollhouse that my dad made for me when I was little, but it’s so big it has to live in the garage for now. Someday I hope to have a place for it and add to the furnishings. I hope to come visit your museum sometime soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both and your staff!
Would absolutely love a miniature of the Dennis Severs House in Spitalfields! So glad you mentioned it! Next best thing- they’ve put out an advent calendar this year!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both, and thanks for the wonderful Christmas gift of these house tours! Fabulous! My most favorite was the Spanish house, and it was lovely to see Casa Paloma again.
Thank you so much wonderful video, you must come to London to the kensington dollshouse show, it would be lovely to see the two of you there ! I love how you give the stories of the dolls in the house! So charming great big thank you from London!😊
My holiday guests left today and I finally got to relax watching your beautiful dollhouse tour! Thank you so much for sharing these treasures with us❣️
Gentlemen, I just loved this amazing tour. Each room and house with it's wonderful, unique charms. What a way to end this lovely evening! A very Merry Christmas to you both.
In December 1864 was the first time that a Christmas tree was installed in Mexico at Chapultepec Castle brought by Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico and Empress Carlota. Maximilian of Habsburg was the brother of the Emperor of Austria and brother-in-law of the Empress Sissy, and the Empress Carlota (Charlotte) was the daughter of the King of Belgium, uncle and tutor of Queen Victoria.
I noticed you put nails up in the dining room. I would love to put pictures up in my antique house but was afraid to put nails into the lovely old original paper. Someone told me about a special museum wax but my paper is old and brittle and even if I touch it lightly the colour can come away on my fingers. Can you please advise how I can put up pictures. I was thinking of varnishing my papers to preserve them for the future. Which would also allow me to use the sticky wax stuff safely. What do you think? Thank you. Please keep making these videos as it’s really helping me with my own old house. Will you be making a Christmas one this year?
I lived in Puebla and will explain the holiday. Mass is usually beginning around 11pm until midnight. At midnight is when generally rompope (spiked eggnog). Chocolate and punche. A mixed fruit simmered in cane sugar cinnamon and other yummy treats. Also there is a special bread that is made and shared. Inside of 5hecbread there will be several little figurines baked into it. If your piece has a little toy ... You are responsible for making tamales for everyone a couple weeks from that night. Also people reenact the search for a shelter by Joseph and Mary the night Jesus was born. Generally Santa is a white guy that lives in the USA lol. Kids get their toys El dia del niño which is months away as well as " Reyes Magos" or the wise men's day since the wise men gave gifts to baby Jesus. Casa Pal9ma indeed is a real house in Puebla, Puebla Mexico. It is in a historical zone known as El Alto and has been a landmark of Mexico because certain important scholars artists politicians and revolutionaries were at one point in time guests at the house. It is an absolutely beautiful building and it was lovely to see its mini model❤️❤️❤️
