People back then used to work with the same old Casio and Roland synths. It’s not how you chose to record music, it’s the music itself. If all people can ear is Dune when listening to this, they severly lack creativity
once you mentioned Chas Smith, Dune, interstellar i was sold £££ (edit) WOW...have been playing it for a bit now and besides the orchestral libraries this is the most organic i have heard from Spitfire. Its not "just another sample" but with all the controls and variations i can listen to 1 sound for 10 minutes just hearing it evolve... pluss combining Epic choir/EricW you got a Dune score..hehe
This was a very good walkthrough, your enjoyment of the instrument really came through. I'd love to hear more of the base samples, though, as - as good as the designed presets are - Chas Smith's original instruments are the real stars here.
Hi @@MichaelNight! I don’t know many of the details but I heard speculation that it will be a loud / epic Albion that replaces Iceni to some degree. In contrast to Iceni, Iceni featured lots of low end (low Hz) content and I assume Colossus will feature both low and high end content performed in the FFF (gosh this is loud, we should have brought earplugs) range. I’ve not yet heard tell of a release date. Please note that everything written above is based on speculation.
@@MichaelNight it was spotted on Christians desktop in one of his videos. No one knows what it could be. Dave is a colossus. Could have been what became the stack.

The inspiration sounds like it came from the scene from 1917 with the lights. Or it certainly would be a good ideas to use Solar for blade speed/variable speed... whatever you wanna call it depending on the NLE app. Definitely a night thingy going on with the sounds.
Really looking forward to using these Beds' to soundtrack my upcoming projects entailing tutorials for teaching the Heimlich maneuver, How-To auger a toilet and most importantly Potty Training your child.
What keyboard are you playing??? I've never seen one with that much key showing in the front. Also, the Tech Specs don't include the size of the library or recommended free drive space. How much space do we need?
haha, no matter how many times I convice myself it's time to pick up chamber strings... I always find other distractions that are more my speed... And i already have some amazing string libraries from spitfire anyway ;) But these textural libraries are the literally the bread and butter of my score work, you can put just about any piano or string library against these kinds of sounds and make some thing that works, is unique, and full of flavor :)
Does this library utilise after touch? As far as I know, only one of their libraries has ever offered that feature. Have I been wrong all this time? I've never been able to set it up as a normal cc.
Well folks, it's almost Halloween and I'm thinking of a follow-up to my seminal CD "All Hallows" (by my Dreamamine project maybe 10 years ago) and this will be on it for sure.....
Seriously! I have been waiting for that for a long time. Even tried to build something much smaller but that could kind of give me that sound using effects, but nothing
After buying several Spitfire libraries I am taking a break from buying products from Spitfire until they welcome back Christian Henson with a public apology for the way they treated him.
He’s not coming back and neither are a lot of their customers. I don’t need to buy from politically woke brands because the grift and manipulation never stops…
I like the sounds but again ,no microtonality is supported....... New plug in design could be the moment to implement this feature ........ Seems that the 'media'is not ready for this!!
Have you tried Entonal Studio from Node Audio? You can host plugins inside of it. (Not personally tried it with this specific library so forgive me if for some reason it doesn't work).
@@lizardmilke yes I have tried( not with this plug in) but not so rocksteady and a lot of try and error....... How come all your libraries, no matter the original timbre, end up being “cinematic pads”? I swear, one day y’all will sell pads made from a drum set. I’m sure it would sound cool, but still.
Hoping for Spongebob Squarepants Drama Toolkit:

How's the sound coming along
Oh man, I'm feeling this.
Haha. Best comment by far. So true.
100% 😂
Naw that’s just self doubt. You’re better than you think.
"What can I do stick out from the crowd?" "Buy a library to sound like this guy!" Anyways take my money.
Stg 😭
I couldn't work out which Hollywood blockbuster these sounds reminded me of. Then I figured it out: everyone of 'em. Unique meets generic.

"A planet I've never been to"... That's a given!
16:10 - 17:12 that moment was magical. Reminds me of the No Mans Sky sound track. Congrats on another amazing showcase.
No kidding! That sounds exactly like NMS.
This is bonkers amazing, endless possibilities, awesome job Dan and the Spitfire team🙌
damn, I was trying to replicate this sound with different synths now its a plug in. Im sold!
Great demonstration! I have had the library for quite a while and never did much with it. That will change today :)
Dark Ambient Cheat Machine
now in my collection.............
I mean, this is damn friggin awesome
Phenomenal! I also love this new user interface being used in this and Polaris!
what a scoring cheat code this is!
Wow! Just bought it & I will give it a try this weekend.

A beautiful sound for the Dune movie
Anyone else hear the crackling when runs 3 instances at once about the 11mins mark!? Seems to be the pulse sound
that's the destruct I think
Yea it sounds like trash. When he plays all of them at once. Other then That it’s fire❤

How long will this be at the introductory price?
15th of september according to the site

Great sounds ... What controller does the author use? With poly-aftertouch?
Could be wrong but it looks like Dan is using a Doepfer lmk4+, but I’m not sure the aftertouch on those is polyphonic.

Wow!
Sounds lovely. Only problem is that the creativity is in the sounds themselves. And now everyone are gonna use them.

wow
