- Today I get to face one of the BEST Darkstalkers (Vampire Savior) players in the WORLD... Nakanishi! While I thought I had a chance to be even with him, he definitely gave me the hands. I learned so much today about Darkstalkers! Let me know what you guys think of our session!

For those who don't know Vampire Savior scene, he's like the final boss of the game. He basically wins every major tournaments he enters and no american player can beat him. Even Ailerus who's far above all other US players isn't close to beat him.
I know Haitani uses sasquatch but he used to beat Nakanishi during the SBO days if not mistaken, but I'm not saying he's better. Haitani admitted he plays random

I love that Justin can compete with the best in the world at a game he is only somewhat familiar with. Shows true mastery of the fighting game genre.
You could hand Justin a fighting game he's never seen before and I'm sure he could master a character in one day. Dude has serious mechanic understanding

Great matches! Nakanishi played like Oboro Bishamon, my god. So much speed and pressure. I played alot of Bishamon (singleplayer) and id like to think i was decent using him. But this was on another level, for sure.
You were incredibly good with Gallon/Jon Talbain, even when you play so many different games. Hats off. Some small suggestion: You might want to try guard cancel now and then. It can really get the pressure off you. Same for push blocking. I wonder how the matches wouldve went if you used those abilities.

I keep wondering why Bishamon isn't a cross game character in sword based fighting games like Samurai Shodown, Soul Calibur and Soul Edge.
corporate bs im sure. thorgi has a retrospective on darkstalkers that mentions all the character crossovers(all except for one character, whom i forget at the moment) that either were guest character spots or had a cameo appearance in another franchise.
Justin is always enjoyable to watch. TH-camrs that are being themselves and just showing you what they're into is always cool to enjoy and quite informative. I learn a lot watching your content

Fast paced, unrelenting, high level "fk you" gameplay from an era of gaming greatness in which we plunked in quarter after quarter because we wanted to learn how to dominate at one of the most challenging yet rewarding games of that era. That was 3 decades ago.
It's 2022 and we now have something called "Modern Controls".
No way DS can make a good enough comeback to bring bliss to our souls... 😢

Someone needs to keep reminding Capcom about the "For Service" version of Darkstalkers, because the Saturn/PSX versions of Darkstalkers 3 were the only ones with a full roster.
Talbain, Bishamon, Lord Raptor, Maximoff and Pyron would have been perfect MVC2 Characters back then.
Glad you are bringing attention to VSAV, it's such an amazing game. I'm so happy I was able to get offline game with Nakanishi as well, felt like a once in a lifetime experience.
Don't think I've seen Justin get humbled this bad before.
I know MVC is a fast pace game as well but darkstalkers is on a different level when it comes to fast pace fighting game between tech hit gaurd cancel and the combos you gotta be pretty damn quick to be good at this game. That bn said i fn love me some Darkstalkers Lei Lei and Victor all day.

mr justin wong, is not an instant overhead, when you hard knock down an oponent you perform 3 seconds down then up and kick like a guile or bison or vega move and the character perform an OTG (on the ground) waku waku 7 has this move and dimitri SVC CHAOS has too

Used to play for hours on end but against cpu max difficulty and max turbo using D-Pad controller Oboro best character here.

I believe Oboro is even stronger than regular bishamon. Lots of powerful moves, high chip damage, constant pressure on opponent…

JWong taking the first game turned out to be a moral victory....but a horrible decision as Nakanishi was DEF gauging your knowledge/comfort with the gameplay in game 1. Once he figured out you had no idea what you were doing....that's a wrap. JWong was trying his hardest though and you gotta respect the hustle cuz dude out here playing EVERY fighting game instead of just sticking to one or two.
Queues I've noticed a few of these older games are ASPECT ratios. Dunno if it's a source video thing or not but boy, a hell of a lot of recent videos are wiiiiiiiiiiiiide
Justin is one of the only players that makes competitive fighting games look fun instead of like a sweatfest. I'm glad he held on to that part of his gaming, I think the sweat is what makes newcomers not want to give it a go.

People are weak these days and want to feel good for doing nothing.
Most competitive fighting game players are like that. Justin just became a big content creator so you see more of him outside of the competitive scene.

Sweaty or chill is just the player's state of mind. There's nothing aside from an unwillingness to lose that prevents a new or less skilled player from just chilling out and having a good time despite how sweaty his opponent is playing, as demonstrated by this very video.

@@ARTofTY-TV Again here Justin, it will be much better if you play the Dreamcast or the PSP versions , since those ones included every character version from all The Darkstalkers and Vampire games; you Can Choose the gameplay style, the bar system and the character version mixing all games in one. You Can play with Demitri with his first game moveset, Vs Morrigan from the Third game or any character from the second game , and much more .

Also JUSTINs Channell is all about showing different and Classic fighting gaming experiences, so No one will expect here about only playing standard and repetititve arcade versions. ;) They are welcome, but better versions are even more interesting, even more if they include all the standard arcade version content and more .
