A good friend bought a special run of Gildans. Also interesting a restaurant I know of uses Gildans for employees and sale merchandise. Two good endorsements. I have a Gildan since 2011. No tears. No shrinkage.
Ever since I got a heavy cotton tshirt I'm looking out for those ones. They feel good, look good and keep their shape over time. Something cheap t-shirts don't.
I'm on a quest to find something thick and a nice fit. I found Los Angeles Apparel and I love the neckline and weight but they are too oversized for me. Expensive as well. Wish I found find an alternative shirt around 6 oz that doesn't feel cheap for a decent price.
This is a great video thank you so much for the information. Another thing to think of is the demographic in the gym. They’re probably feeling hot in the gym and workout and get hot and sweaty often so they’re more likely to gravitate to the thinner material. However people in colder climates would be more likely to choose thicker material :)
Great video as always! I would love to see you do a challenge between the B+C 3001 and the Gildan Softstyle 64000. I use both and I think putting those two up for comparison would be way more tightly contested.
@@sistasketch But that’s not the point of this video. The point was take both lines cheapest option to see what would be preferable. But bottom line is, most people aren’t going to feel a tee up for texture when it has great designs placed on it. Maybe if they are buying a plain tee, but it’s less than secondary if when it comes to design or fit

i agree that you have to wear the shirt in order to really know if you like the feel or not.... but honestly, i like the Bella Canvas tho.....it is thin but its comfortable and after a couple of washes it still looks relatively good.
Like a lot of commenters. I myself will be looking to launch more with Bella, but if its a white shirt, the concern becomes too thin and see through. Maybe for my white shirt designs I will look into a different brand. Thanks for doing this Ajene. This is the 3rd video of yours I've watched. Time to hit that subscribe button
I think people are caught up in the initial feel. It's like buying a super soft mattress that feels great in the store, but they you suffer from back pain 1 month later. Most people i've sold bella 3001 too eventually said it's too thin. These people in the video.. even though they are in a gym.. they are all wearing shirts that's closer to Gildan Because they like structure and they don' t want something you can see right through. Personally i have 3-4 bella shirts and i would never wear them again I don't want a sweater shirt, but shirts should have structure/ body. not heavy but not too light either. Bella shirts is better for working out. That's why a gym wasn't the best place too. Long term i believe stores will suffer with bella. I don't like silky soft thin shirts soft cotton, not too thin is the ideal shirt imo
Thanks. Just decided to go with GIldan after reading the comment. No one fvucking knows if they like a T shirt from touching it. I thought they would try it on, seems intentionally avoided
Yea you don't learn anything but just touching a shirt. It has to be on your body. Unless people try clothes on, they 100% can't say if they like it or not. Only bad side of online shopping for clothing.
I love BC but will be printing on white shirts. Would it be better to go with Gildan for printing designs? Also worried that the BC might be see through bc it is so thin. All my BC shirts are black or grey
I know this video is a little old now, but I"d love to see you switch the letters. Bella B and Gildan A. Just to rule out any potential effect of people choosing a kind of "first letter must be better" thing. Like if you're handing out grades, would I rather get a A or a B?
I would like to match the quality of my designs with the quality of the shirt. I'm looking for a heavier double stitch cotton t that when touched you instantly feel quality. Can you offer an recommendations? Much respect for making this video.
Great video, but you should've had people also try them on. I agree that the 3001's feal slightly softer than the Gildan 5000 (G500), but it's a trade off. I used to use Bella Canvas 3001's and 3413's, but one of the things you only find out when wearing them is that the collars are very weak compared to the Gildan 5000 (G500). Personally, I like tighter collars and Bella Canvas t-shirts always disappoint, plus their overall weight is pretty thin. The BC 3001's are 4.2 oz compared to the 5.0-5.3oz of the Gildan 5000.
I've bought some samples to see the shirts for myself and I prefer BC 3001 over Gildan 5000 any day. I don't know if I received a faulty product but the Gildan shirt was so scratchy and it came with several loose threads that I definitely wouldn't want to sell it in my shop. Also, I prefer the retail fit of the BC since it's slimmer, over the boxier fit of the Gildan.
I need help finding a brand of t’s. I like this heavy weights of shaka & proclub but their too long on the sleeves and torso. I need a athletic style not slim or too fitted. I’m short and stocky lol. Any recommendations
Great test and great video! Thanks! And the end result is clear. BUT. What if one would also see the price difference? And what if one would get a Gildan 5000 shirt without seeing the 3001? She or he would almost certainly say that it's perfect, no? Anyways, I noticed that since I sell the BC3001 in my Etsy shop, I am almost always more expensive than the competition. The others probably print on cheaper t-shirts and it shows in the sales numbers. It seems that the $3-4 price difference matters to the buyers, so I'm thinking about also switching to selling Gildan 5000 t-shirts. What do you think about this?
So there's two things I would have done a 50% A as Bella and 50% A as Gildan and I would have swapped A between his left and right hands. Statistical people are more included to pick A over B and in reach studies more people are right handed so they're more likely to pick what's closer to their right hand. Making the changes is closer to a true double blind study.

True, the B+C are wayyyyy to overhyped and customers think they're being ripped off when they get it.
Which blanks do you recommend?
There is also the factor of trying said shirt on. Cut and comfort have more impact than texture and weight.
