At least 15 pounds of big head minnows and a few hundred small 1-2 inch blue gills and don’t add no more bass until you see a change in the ones already in the pond I just bought some land with a small pond with a fresh dig pond last spring I added 200+ breeder bluegill and 20 pounds of big head minnows and have no plans to add anything else until next year when I see proof of spawning from the bluegill

You need to reach out to a pond management company. Build the forage base. Throw in some shad, shiners, craws, and even freshwater shrimp since you’re in Texas. Bluegills being the only thing the bass seem to stalk, will limit your growth.

I like your pond management ideas but I have a question. I live in a place where live crawfish are banned but everything else you mentioned is legal. Is there a substitute for craws that you know of? Your quote: (You need to reach out to a pond management company. Build the forage base. Set up a maggot breeding area! Might sound gross, but, pretty simple, and u can use them to fish and to feed ur fish. What about setting up a seperate walled up crawlfish breeding pond? Then you could have crawfish to bbq, and put the males into the lakes for the fish to eat? Also, set up a compost area, that way you can get your own worms.

loved the video man! you should make the clear pond the trophy pond and stock it with 4 lbs plus, get rid of most of the fish under like 1 1/2 or so and throw them in the dirty pond. that way you got some big fish in the clear pond with bluegill and then a ton of smaller fish in the dirty pond. Also, maybe figure out where the contours of the dirty pond are and sink some brush piles/rock piles in good spots, and stock it with like shad or shiners or something? Each pond would have essentially all the best cover in each of them except maybe reeds but that might be something to think about. Keep it up! Lovin the videos recently

I think you should connect both of the ponds. So there a shallow side and a deep side. If not I honestly think you should dig it deeper so you can stock more fish in it other then bass. The more room in the pond means the more fishing room you can have. After having a bigger pond you can build a little dock. And hopefully the water stays clear so you can do some nice videos some 6 sense baits in action. That would be nice so it would pretty much be a testing pond for new lures. But good luck to whatever you do I know it’s going to be an awesome video.

Honestly I would say the best thing to do with ponds that size is to try and raise trophy bluegill in one and catfish in the other. In a 3/4 acre pond I was able to raise Bluegill over 2 pounds and channel catfish over 15 pounds, if you had separate ponds for each you could probably do even better than I did! Naturally in the trophy Bluegill pond you will have / want some bigger bass to help control Bluegill from over populating.

You might want to make sure there's a grass carp. Get some floating fish food and see. Catfish too!

Same way you were doing with the other pond. Cull the population a a little bit and increase bait. Have to have a good balance for bluegill and crappie (if you have or want crappie) to bass. They will eat the rest of the bait first aside from absolute giant bass.
As far as the ponds, one for growing bait (the stained one) and the other to grow giants in.

man, I thought your disposition was just for show. However, I love the way you treat your kids. Congrats on the house, land and ponds that rocks. Oh by the way you might want to look into getting a few carp in that pond before the moss takes over. Also for the lilly pads I would make lanes my grandpa use to do it for his ponds and the bass loved it to use as ambush areas the days fishing on those ponds was a blast
