Ive been following SC since the Elite Dangerous Odyssey screwup in 2020. Watching Morph's architect reviews, ISC, etc. Now that I found this example of how star citizen can be like. I think I may finally buy the Cutter and finally experience first hand what Ive been seeing all these years. I wanna be a space trucker too ;-) Please! Keep em coming!
Nice job! I haven’t done any of the Save Stanton yet, probably gonna miss out, especially since I suck at dogfighting. I just got myself a Starlancer today with the final CCUs from IAE. I think I might start 4.0 with my C1 for some smaller deliveries and hauling, then move up to the Starlancer.
Honestly. Starlancer is cheap to operate and way more sturdy than the C1. I don't really see a reason to use the C1 over the Starlancer for anything but speed.
I really enjoyed the Save Stanton missions. I'm interested to see how whichever faction was backed the most during phase 4 affects the story in chapter two. Good stuff. You'll have that Scorpius in no time.
@@ForgeCoreGaming Absolutely. A little more narrative to drive things forward would be great. I think we're getting there. CIG does seem to be putting more energy into this sort of thing and making money is fun but it would be cool to have some other drives.
Current daily driver (and only ship): a Nomad. Should do fine for me at the outset of 4.0. Your expense report tallying reminds me of the series "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar"

My daily at the moment is the Starlancer but with 4.0 I will be visiting Pyro and I have not found it as useful there. The reason is that many of the settlements are very big, the pads are often blocked and there is little room to fit a Starlancer anywhere inside so I keep having to land outside and walk a long way. Also, there are many commodities that give a high profit per scu but are only available in quantities of 10-30 scu. For these reasons, I think I will be using a C1 in Pyro. Back in Stanton i will probably use my Vulture or Prospector to build up enough money to fill my C1 then my Starlancer and start trading properly.
Interesting. I'm purposely avoiding play testing 4.0 because I want it to still be "fresh" when it comes to PU. But that's some insightful information there that I hadn't considered.
This will be my EVENTUAL situation, lol, i bought a Starlancer (despite getting rid of my Corsair because among other things i figured it would be a bit much to solo with engineering gameplay on the horizon) and am making a decent living just running hauling missions. Post wipe however, i plan to start out JUST using the Intrepid. Similar rules (minus the ERT bounties, lol) and the goal is to save until i can afford a Hull A, then build until i could afford the Starlancer in game, avoiding all the other pledge ships i own until then.
@ForgeCoreGaming at least at the beginning of a new post-wipe playthrough (not that there have been many full wipes in the last few years) but i am at the point now where, i don't ALLLLL the ships, but i have enough, and enough variety of pledge ships that if i don't limit their use at the beginning i have nothing to build toward. It's neat to have access to whatever game loop i feel like playing on any given day, but starting fresh but not having to 'work' for anything can get dull. I also have a second account with just a Mustang Alpha and a Cutter for when i feel like my main has it too easy and i want that "starting from zero" experience.
My C1 is my best ship I own for daily driving. I might get cheeky and try to use my Polaris as a daily driver, but I don't think that'll work well =S I'll probably shoot for a Connie Taurus or a Starlancer Max.
Do you have to do the save stanton missions in order or can you pick them up as they are offered? I should start them this weekend and complete them soon.
So they originally stated that you would be able to do them as they became available, but my org mates and I weren't seeing the next available mission set until after we finished the one before it. At least when it came to Phase 4. I think we completed phases 1 & 2 before phase 3 came out.
It sucks that your game bugged at the start. As far as daily driver goes, I don't own Star Citizen but have played during a few free flights and found the Avenger Titan to be pretty good.
The MAX is cool but the TAC variant is the one that really caught my attention. Nice seeing the Starlancer being tested anyway.

I think the Nomad is a good choice.. plenty of versatility & low operating costs. I've never heard of "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar". Is it any good?

I need to start living out of mine. I do tend to blow my ships up with my subpar piloting though....
Lol this ship is super easy to keep alive because of how durable it is.. plus it's REALLY slow.. so crashing is difficult to do

Man this phase 4 has been awful for me with the crashes, 30ks, and bugs with hangers. I have not been able to complete these bad boys
