- Troy Tidwell brutally beat thousands of boys while employed at the Florida School for Boys at Marianna. Some boys never returned from their beating at the White House Torture Chamber. At this school boys were beaten, molested and some killed at the hands of their caretakers. I wonder how this man would have turned out if he were to be on the other side of the whip... god bless every single child's soul that has had their innocence ripped away from them by this, or any other unfortunate Hell...we try to do so much more nowadays to protect children...and it still isn't enough. Back then ...bless your hearts (living and dead) you never had a chance. These children underwent the kind of torture that would break the strongest of full grown men. No one should ever have to be treated with such hatred, and abuse....no matter what age, race, or species for that matter ...especially not a child. My heart hurts for these boys knowing that I or anyone else was able to be there to protect or even comfort them. The fact that this man can sit here so calmly with no sign of regret and lie through his teeth....sickens me. He sure can remember every detail when it comes to proving his innocence...but anything that doesn't look so good on his part...old age conveniently takes over and he can't recall. The White House Boys that are still alive and came forward to tell their stories are so very brave and 100 times more of a man than anyone who was ever involved in keeping this concentration camp alive. God bless you.

This is in the 60's. My brother and I were tortured at the hands and direction of Troy Tidwell. I watched my brother being beaten. He went to the "clinic" where he almost died. I got lucky. I got beat after him. I got my foot cut to "slow" me down. I was a runner. I still have the scar to remind me of my brother. He laid down in front of a train. I went to prison for life. Tidwell and family...SHAME ON YOU ALL.

Hitting boys with a strap is called "spanking"? I guess it makes violent abuse sound nicer. I can't believe this corporal punishment was even allowed on that level. You get beat for just talking about running away? I guess after the beating it makes you wanna stay. Smh. I'm disgusted

I would be very interested in how this matter was resolved, or has it yet been resolved? This was a massive injustice and I hope it wasn't shoved beneath the carpet like many of these old cases have been. This many men cannot all be wrong and liars. Bad things happened here and the State of Florida needs to be held accountable. I have no doubt we could find similar cases for every state in the Union that had these so called " Industrial" homes/schools for boys. Shame on you Florida!

@@johnshaw8228 first of all thomas isnt lying they try to give only $975 to the surviving boys of that school to pay them just to shut them up so if you think that is even close to enough of the trauma the torment those INNOCENT boys endured this is bs what our justice system has done as far as i know they are equally guilty for just letting this piece of shit of a creature because i cant even call him a human being because he's not he doesnt even know the meaning of the word decent human being if it bit him on the ass!
They beat us all for talking about anything. Adams Cottage 1965 Okeechobee - 7 months - and yes they beat me bloody and I never ran or even talked of running.

That wasn't spanking, it was whipping. It's very common in the Panhandle of Florida. I've seen kids hit with a parents belt on their bare bottom. The neighbor called CPS and they said the could do what ever they wanted to as long as they didn't have to go to the Hospital.
Looks like some of Tidwells true colors come out in bits and pieces. From his facial reactions when he talked about it, you can tell that he beat and abused those boys and liked it. May God forgive this man for what he has done to children in the past.

He has no remorse. Its the light smiles for me. There almost a sorry not sorry sense of pride he has. Just sick and sadistic evil thats reeking from his face. The terror this man must have did, especially the black boys. I cringe in empathetic pain thinking about it, Good Lord Jesus!!!!
