    I give you all the credit for saying all you had to say in one minute! I've seen other videos where they might take 20 minutes to say the same thing....lol. I have a few Emax servos on deck for when the stock ones go bad. I plan to cross that bridge when I need to.

    Broke my stock servo in 24 hours of buying my scx24...upgraded and haven't had any issues since

    Stock servo was not that bad but eventually the proportional goes out. Which obviously makes the serval all the way or nothing. Even if the stock servo is good, in my opinion the Emax Servo is way better. So even if your servo was good I would switch it out to a Emax. Plus the stock Servo is $16.99 and the Emax Servo is $8.99. This was a great video thank you

    My servo stopped working after the second issue. Got an emax servo with a mofo servo tray now it works great.

    Servo saver or not, the stock servo is underpowered.
    If you had more experience driving on a course with decent obstacles, then you would know this, and not make these statements.
    The servo saver mod improves the drive, but compared to the range of servos available, it stinks.
    It cannot perform tasks that it should, regardless of the tests you may do to prove otherwise.

    The emax literally comes with silver screws that fit.... and the emax has way more power than stock even without the servo saver

    • @pandubek387
      @pandubek387  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The silver screw from Emax may fit but will damage the original thread in the servo basket so it is a one way ticket. For me the stock servo without the spring protection works just fine. As you can see in the film I'm pressing it down with a Xiaomi powerbank which weights over 400g and it still has plenty of power. The Emax may be stronger, but I think the stock one is good enough, at least with the light wheels.

    As soon as i put heavier wheels and tires on my scx24 the stock servo becomes pointless. Doesnt have enough torque to turn the wheels with even the tiniest bit of flex on the suspension

  • @schwuzi
    @schwuzi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That's basically what glueing the servo saver does. You can also put in a bead or something with a hole in the middle in place of the spring.
    The stock servo is not strong enough for this though. It will break sooner with this mod.
    You can use some screws from the back to mount the emax servo. Watch the install videos to see what I mean.

    Dude just do some simple mods and the servo will fit just fine??? Are you new to the hobby or just don't know how to do modifications? I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to the emax servo, I say its one of the top 3 mods that should be done!! The stock servo is junk and has no power to turn the wheels under the lightest pressure.

    • @pandubek387
      @pandubek387  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi.
      Well, in fact I am new in this hobby and I try to make videos for newbie as well :-)
      But I know quite well how to modify stuff. I just didn't have proper screws and I didn't want to use larger ones, because I've already ordered a new set of M1.4 screws.
      But I don't agree that the stock servo is junk. It is less powerful than Emax, but after removing spring protection it works just fine, even under almost 0,5kg pressure. I showed this in the film. The SCX24 is so light that if you have no plans to use weighted wheels the stock servo is just enough in my opinion. But of course once I receive a new set of screws I'll replace the stock servo in one of my Axial just to check what is the difference. So I will not insist that the stock servo is the best in the world, it's just good enough for me right now.

      @@pandubek387 I didn't mean to be rude sorry. On eBay you can get a servo tray that fits the emax for $13 but a Dremel tool and some slightly longer screws will do just as good. Yeah the stock servo will get you by but the emax servo is far superior. I now have 3 scx24’s and the stock servos are the first to go. Also a few things to look out for is the stock motor, had one already sieze up, so the motor upgrade is beneficial in a few ways. Longer life and more tourque! And then I recommend getting a different charger, the one that comes with the truck has been know to have problems.
      Love these little trucks, drive em more than my bigger RC's. But the right upgrades done properly make these crawlers very very capable as if they weren't before any mods. Best of luck to ya with your build!

    Emax analog servo stopped working after 2 months, replaced with digital version. But the plastic case is so brittle on these emax the ears crack where the screws go. Now i'm looking for another servo to replace the emax. I got Ecopower 827 now.

      Hi.
      If you are gonna use weighted wheels then metal gears will be a better choice. However if you stay with the stock light wheels then the servo with plastic gears is enough.

    The emax is perfect. Remove a small amount of plastic from the stock servo mount, use the silver screws the emax comes with. The servo saver is pointless on a small crawler. Having a strong servo means you have more control and can use steering to position yourself better when crawling. After watching your video it seems obvious to me you do not know much about crawling, and as such should not be giving advice.
