    Hi all
    Well this arrived on Friday after a bit of a wait for the version 3 to land in the UK.
    At time of writing I haven't actually driven it but I'm sure it will be fab.
    Thought it would be worth showing how you get the main bits apart on these for maintenance.
    Anyway I haven't got time to be typing when I need to go blasting!
    Many thanks for watching :-)

      Many thanks for your feedback. I have to say that the Arrma 3s cars are still my go to bashers. I'm just missing the Vorteks but got the other 4. You do need to tinker and check a few bits on these but worth the time. There are some other tips videos but the best one to look at is the Big Rock unboxing because I summarise all the hints and tips from the other videos. Thanks again :-)

    Hey, Pete! Thanks for unboxing the Senton.
    It’s a discovery for me, I only knew him by name. The quality seems to be at the rendezvous with Arrma. I get the impression that you really like this brand. I think you’re really going to blow up with this thing, I know you like it when it goes off, jumps, in short when it’s bash!
    By the way, I allowed myself to put a small label link to your video on the Air Duster in my last video towards the end. I thought it was funny after a very dusty run session with my DN-01 to put your video right about it.
    I hope you’re all right, I wish you a wonderful Sunday, mon ami. Thanks again for sharing this discovery. Take care.

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya Alex. Yes Arrma is a fairly new discovery for me too. It was Barry from Barry's RC Dump who got me and Ric into these. I've really been impressed with the Granite so I was keen to get this one too. I do still love my Tamiyas but sometimes you want an RC that you can smash about at speed without worrying too much. Another thing I like about Arrma is that it's a British team behind the designs. I think that you can tell that a lot of thought went in to making these easy to work on. Anyway I'm taking this out later today so hopefully I don't break it. Of course it's ok to link to my video. I must catch up with your videos. Been busy at work and doing extra hours for a couple of weeks so haven't had so much free time. Hope you and yours are well. Best wishes to you my friend 😀

    Hiya Pete! That's a great truck mate! Love the way it's so modular and easy to access. Great tips for the new owners, should keep the car running longer with all those parts firmly locked in place. All the best, I hope you have a great Sunday! :)

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya Mark. Yeah I don't know if we have discussed it before but it's a British design team behind Arrma. I really like the way that they make them easy to work on. I do love my Tamiyas but these are on another level in terms of durability and speed for crashing about. I'm just off out for a test run with it shortly. Hope I don't break it. How's it going up your way with Covid restrictions? We currently just have the national rules. I can imagine them tightening up on visits to houses with the way it's going. Actually went out with my family to a restaurant that has a sort of covered outdoor area with heaters. All seemed to work very well with masks for anyone not sitting down and all that. Anyway I'm just preparing to go out RC'ing so I'll leave you to enjoy your Sunday. Best wishes matey 😁🍺🍺🍺

    Great video, thank you! I’m not sure what the V2 Granite had but on my 2019 Typhon there are dedicated hole locations for different pinion gear sizes and it’s interesting to see Arrma have changed to a more simple sliding mount. Recently my spur gear got so chewed up, most of gearbox had to be replaced including the outer housing itself. I didn’t recognise 2 of the ball bearings for the slipper clutch because they complete exploded and was just in bits.

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. Yes the V2 Granite also had the fixed positions for the motor which I prefer to be honest because you know that the mesh is ok as the motor can't be shunted out of place in a crash. That sounds bad with your spur. I wonder if one of the bearings was seized up and then disintegrated? I did have one of those bearings seize up on the Granite but luckily the noise alerted me to the issue. Many thanks for your comments 😀

      Well I've only ever owned the 2wd Slash and the Arrma is better in every way I can think of. You need to find a review where someone has tested the Arrma against the 4wd Slash. The Arrma is certainly better value! I'd also say that out of the Arrma 3s range I might pick one of the others unless you particularly like the short course truck style. Also depends where you want to run it but I'd go Granite or Big Rock for general bashing or Typhon for cornering. Thanks for watching the vid :-)

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. I have seen that done and it does look great. I would go for a 15t pinion because the 20t one might put too much strain on the motor with the bigger wheels. I did use mine with Granite wheels and a Big Rock body and it was great but eventually I got a Big Rock so the Senton is back to stock wheels and body. Don't know what to advise really as it's a matter of what you like and where you want to run it really :-)

    Hello there!
    I've just purchased the Arrma Senton V3 3S BLX from modlesport, waiting on delivery. I just came across your video, I couldn't help but be a little worried about the thread lock. Is that a big problem with these? What can actually happen? Also, as a beginner myself, what basic tools would I need for servicing? Thanks! 😆

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. Well the threadlock on the axles was definitely a problem when I got my Arrma cars back in 2020. The wheels would come off in use which was due to the axle detaching from the drive shaft. The threadlock does cure this. With the motor screws I think that Arrma have got better at threadlocking those but worth checking. If the motor moves out of position in use then your gears will wear and you might burn out the motor if they are too tightly meshed. I would get some long hex drivers sized 1.5mm, 2mm and 2.5mm. mine are Turnigy. Other than that pliers are useful. The Senton does benefit from the inner fender set and I did another video about them. It does get full of mud otherwise. Good luck with it. Thanks for your comments 😁

      Hi there. I don't think it mentions version 3 on the box but these have been out for a couple of years now so you are unlikely to find a version 2 anywhere. The version 3 has the graphics on the body like mine here which is quite different to the body on the version 2. Thanks for watching 😁👍

    Can you run this on a 3S Deans battery? Thanks

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you can either change the plug on the ESC (and probably void the warranty) or use an adaptor. Worth saying that I was using an adaptor to start with but it can be an unreliable connection so I ended up changing the plugs on my 3s batteries to EC5 plugs which fit the IC5 plug fitted as standard to the ESC. Thanks for watching 😀

    • @rcast3763
      @rcast3763 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeteWylieRC Wouldn't the Deans plug limit the current draw?
      Yes it will be unreliable in the future as you pointed out, with the plug/unplug, vibration and bashing.
      Thanks for the advice

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rcast3763 Well I know that the EC5 can take more current but I think that a deans is ok up to 3s. Beyond 3s I think that deans will struggle. Not tried anything beyond 3s myself mind you, I'm just going by others saying it. I do find deans a bit fiddly, particularly the soldering of them. Having said that, all of my 2s cars have them.

    Just received the Granite V3 S3. Impressed however starting to really hate IC5🤬 $$$$ going to have to convert to ES5 or im just gonna return it.
    Spektrum is like Apple. Only thing that works best is Their Products and they make sure THAT YOU PAY. Just a charger and a battery is worth more than the damn truck.wtf.😢 first RC and of I return MY LAST.

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've just left the IC5 on the ESC and put EC5 plugs (which are cheap) on my Lipo's and they plug right into the IC5. You can get an adaptor if you don't want to solder. I haven't gone down the path of smart batteries as too expensive like you say.

      Hi there. I did the same thing with threadlock on the Granite but was still able to get it apart when I needed to change a bearing. It's only medium strength threadlock so not too solid. Cheers 😀

      Only saw this one video. I’m interested in the car.
      Listen to the video and you’ll see how extremely difficult it is to listen too. Sorry you’re offended by the overuse filler words. Maybe try to listen to your videos prior to publishing them? I’m not an expert speaker by any means but I have actually taken public speaking classes.
      The car looks awesome. I’m trying to decide if I go with that one or the 6S typhoon

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well I appreciate this more constructive comment. Thing is I will never be a voiceover person and in fact I only ever intended to make videos of the cars in action with no speaking. It was only because people were requesting information that I started doing these videos. Believe it or not I take and retake most bits of the video and then heavily edit it so what you are seeing is as good as it can be without employing a professional presenter. It usually takes about 10 tries to say thanks for watching see you next time. Of course I watch the videos before putting them up. I have usually been editing them for about 10 hours. Most people recognise that this is made by an amateur hobbyist so they don't expect it to be like a TV show. I know it's not brilliant but you are the only person to have criticised me like this. If you want proper presenting then watch RC Driver Online. On the subject of the RC, I would get the Granite which is what I basically say in the next video which is the review of the Senton. I wouldn't want to put you through the torture of listening to me again so that is what it boils down to. Does depend what you are into though obviously. All the 3S cars are really good.
