Amazing and beautiful Steve! You sure do make flying a drone look easy. I feel like a bird in the sky watching this video. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Oki 😘
Superb job with this Steve! Amazing to see how giant the mines actually are. Hopefully one day when they are thru with it, they will try to return it to a somewhat original condition. Thanks.
Beautiful drone footage, Steve. We're missing that desert this winter. Stuck up here in the frozen tundra of northern Wisconsin. Hope to get back next winter! The copper mine is cool to see. There's one down in the Green Valley area, but we can't see it without a drone. We have seen the one down in Bisbee.
Music is absolutely beautiful and it sound like Keiko Matsui. I love her. ❤ Steve is this the North Northeast side? I don't recognize it anymore. One day there will be nothing left of the Silverbell Mountains. It makes me sad to see all this destruction. But I greatly appreciate this video. It's important for people to see what happens when we mine for minerals. Those are sulfuric acid and liquid copper ponds down there. It eventually gets pumped to the SXEW plant where the liquid copper is electrified onto cathodes and becomes solid. It' produces 99.9% pure copper. Thanks for sharing. 😊❤👍
@DesertAdventuresinArizona They blow up the rock into ore then spray it with sulfuric acid, then it liquefies the copper which gets pumped to the Solvent Xtract Electro Winning SXEW Plant where the solvent is extracted and the copper is change back into a solid through electro winning. That's my simple version. 😊
@@DesertAdventuresinArizona I should say the sulfuric acid leaches out the copper from the ore. That's what I was told anyway. There's probably more to it.
@@DesertAdventuresinArizona They have the sulfuric acid trucks that make deliveries out there too. If You drive to the front area, the SXEW plant will be to your right. There's these large filtration tanks by the of the SXEW plant. Outside of the fence to your right, is where the sulfuric acid trucks pump out the sulfuric acid. Well it use to be there. 😏 I haven't been there in years.

This one is the Silverbell Mine NW OF Tucson/Marana. Thanks Dave and Kathy! 🙏
I love your opening on the huge flat rock. Your intro is an invitation to adventure 😎
Thanks 😊 Shirl!

Is that a water recycling area at the beginning? Nice views. I never cease to be amazed at how well you operate the drone.
Those Ponds hold Sulphuric Acid and Liquid Copper
@@DesertAdventuresinArizona Ahh, ok so interesting.
Wow great! Wonderful place
It is very nice! Thanks 😊
Cool! Love the mining. If it can't be grown,it's got to be mined.

Very Interesting - So how do they liquify the copper ? With acid?

That makes sense - we see 18 wheelers coming out Avra Valley road and they are loaded with in ingits

I wonder how many square miles the mine covers. It looks HUGE!
I would estimate about 5 miles long. Not sure how wide tho
