    I'm just amazed that none of these old planks or ladders have given out on you yet. You're a braver man than I.

      Well there’s too possibility’s here. Either we are really good at assessing which old bits of wood are strong enough to take our weight and we are correct… or we have fallen through a few but I don’t include that footage 🤣🤣🤣

    You guys have nerves of steel, I was with you till crawling through the tunnels barely large enough to slide through and then started to feel really uneasy. Fantastic vid guys and thank you for your time and risk. Well done! 👍🏻

    Hoorah ...nice commentary and no musical accompaniment! Nicely done. Thanks.

      Ha cheers. It took me a while to realise people prefer natural audio and information voice overs 🤣

    A great video, I was in this mine today..but didn't wonder to far..I made it to the metal train track junction...

      Ideal. Was there any collapses ? I heard that part of it is getting a bit dodgy now and on the move?
      There were also a group doing a dig project down the end of the metal hoop section but I don’t know how they are getting on… sounded like the ground was getting a bit dodgy !

      @@BenoCam definitely like bread and cheese not the greatest. Was a bit soft and the collapse by the metal hoop section did look different to your vid I wondered why it looked freshly dug hmm explains it ...a lot of Stella cans down there and mess a shame really. Do you go out often. Would be interested in tagging along if you didn't mind ?

    The ladder and those old boards you were walking across.... crikey! Cool mine, thanks for sharing.

    I remember peering down into this one and wondering where it went!
    Thanks for showing us

    Always wondered what’s it like in there ha ! There is also another entrance to that mine behind a gate that’s you can walk into

    Amazing to think that these mines were often made by hand tools.

      They are not too bad. The timbers good it’s the metal nails that rust out

    Good show guys. That older bit looks like it gets fairly close to Top Shaft. There is the other adit but might be too wet still.

    Do you get many sinkholes due to mine collapses in Cornwall?

    You guys have got balls of steel. Fair play to you. Is that open shaft just off the tramway north of the old arsenic workings?

    • @BenoCam
      @BenoCam  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha thanks. It’s the one visible from the cycle track , it’s the only one open in that area that is obvious . Quite suprised it escaped the capping program !

    Yey, a Ben o Cam video. We are still just surface exploring as local rescue asked us not to go under ground. Amazing shaft with the ledge on the side to the drift. Has that mine been closed and open several times through the years as it seems the sections are from vastly different ages? The 3000 subs comment below, I've just noticed, that's a scam, don't respond lol Oh yes, you say about modern workings a bit later. lol 'What do you think of that ladder?' Typical British response "looks splended' lol Cornish people eat pasties? Naaa lol

    Hi Ben, great video as usual! just wondering did you see any bats in this mine? im looking at joining a mine exploring group when everything is normal again, but unfortunately bats scare me shitless and im wondering how often you get them in mines? thanks in advance!

    • @BenoCam
      @BenoCam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don’t see many in Nangiles but there are plenty about. There really is no need to be scared of them, I have had many instances where I have dropped into a mineshaft and had them fly out around us. They are very smart and agile creatures they never fly into you and are very quick to get out of the way if need be. In the winter months you see them hanging up hibernating so we leave them well along. The summer evenings just before dusk is when they seem to be most active but they really are not a problem. Think you have been watching too many Indiana Jones films 🤣

      @@BenoCam Thanks mate, only real reason they worry me a bit is that rabies like disease that a tiny handful of 'em carry, but i've googled it and and think they've only found 2 with it or something, I'll stop being scared of 'em eventually :-) anyway, love your videos and looking forwards to the next one haha!

    Don't know why but that one gave me a bad vibe. Like a terrible accident had happened in there... or was about to. Crawling though tunnels must play hell with the knees and what about your mates yellow wellies... are they nautical in nature or special mine exploration de rigueur.

    • @BenoCam
      @BenoCam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ground in that one is really bad…. They even called it bread and cheese mine because the rock is so soft 😬
      The wellies are fisherman’s wellies, I have a pair too… very comfy !

    Judging by the difficulties in getting someone with a broken limb out of these crumbling workings, you guys take far too many chances. Period.
