      Well, that's . . . a mixed blessing. Sucks for now, but good news for the future. At least you learned that you interview well.

    Hi, how would I answer 'tell me about yourself' if I'm not very active within my school community?

    • @ebrplcareercenter
      @ebrplcareercenter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Think about what you do have to offer employers - make a list of your strengths that would make you a good employee. This could include previous work or volunteer experience, academic and extracurricular activities, and personal traits such as dependability and organization. If you're feeling a little stuck coming up with things for the list, then talk to the people you know - family, friends, teachers, etc.

    Hi, I must say that this was a good video indeed but I had some queries which I would like to be cleared out........
    I am having an interview a week after and this interview is basically for my admission in a school. So any tips by your side??
    Some details which you might take well in your account:
    - I am seeking admission for the 11th class that means I am still in 10th grade
    - its my 1st time you see, so how to kill that nervousness?
    - which details specifically should I be cared about (for eg. school's history, why this school only, my achievements)
    That's all, can you help me out?
    I'll be glad if you can😀

    • @ebrplcareercenter
      @ebrplcareercenter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thank you for the compliment! In response to your questions:
      1) For a school admissions interview, they will mostly be focused on your academic and extracurricular achievements. Create a resume that details those, and be ready to discuss them in the interview. Prep for questions like, "Tell me about yourself," "Why are you interested in our school," "Tell me about your academic record and extracurricular activities at your last school," "Which school subjects are you most interested in," "What colleges, majors, and career fields are you most interested in," "What makes you a good fit for this school," "What do you have to offer us," etc.
      2) The best way to kill the nervousness is to be as prepared as possible. Write out your notes/answers ahead of time, then have someone (a parent or teacher or very smart friend) pretend to interview you a few days before the real interview. The process of doing it in a low-stress situation will help you feel more comfortable with it in the high-stress situation - and you can get feedback in the practice interview that will help you improve.
      3) The day of the interview, don't try to prep or cram last-minute. That will make your brain nervous and tired. Instead, spend the time before the interview trying to put your brain in its "happy place" - whether that means listening to music, enjoying a comfort read, or going for a walk, etc.
      4) Also write down some questions to ask them at the end of the interview. And be mindful of your body language.

    I am gonna have an interview for 9th grade admission as an international student and it's my first time so I'm kinda nervous and I need your help on these question
    1-I don't know what to say if they ask "why do you think you would be good to fit our school?"
    2-Can you tell me some questions they might ask me and the answers Please 😊

    • @ebrplcareercenter
      @ebrplcareercenter  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! I'm sorry if I'm not seeing this in time to assist you - I'm just now returning from vacation.
      To answer your question, they will probably ask you "Tell me about yourself." You should tell them about who you are as a student - perhaps what your favorite school subject is and why, what sorts of clubs and extracurricular activities you were involved in at your previous school, that kind of thing. They may also ask you about who you are outside of school - what do you enjoy doing in your free time, that kind of thing. You will want to answer this question in a way that will impress them - for example, if it's an academically rigorous school, you could talk about your passion for reading; if it's a religious school, you could talk about volunteering for your church/temple/mosque. But whatever you say, do not lie.
      Finally, they will ask you about your plans for the future - questions like "Why do you want to attend this school? What do you like about it?" (Do some research on the school so you can answer these questions.) "Why do you think you would be a good fit for the school? What will you do as a student of this school?" "What do you plan on doing after you graduate? What do you want to be when you grow up?" Prep your answers ahead of time so that you're not tongue -tied when they ask . . . but I can't tell you how to answer these questions. This has to come from you. Just answer honestly.
      For the question "Why do you think you'd be a good fit?", focus on what you have to offer - the unique mix of academic skills, extracurricular talents, and personality traits that make you an attractive candidate.

      Apologies for the delay; we've been closed due to a hurricane for the past few days.
      Our recommendation is that you prepare ahead of time by writing out your answers to some of the most common interview questions. Here are some examples of how to answer: th-cam.com/video/WopdqLfLZ9c/w-d-xo.html
      Some other useful things you can do to prepare are: 1) Make a list of what you have to offer as an employee - your work experience, skills, training, personality traits, etc., that would make you an asset to the company. Get help from family/friends/teachers if you're stuck. 2) Research the company you're interviewing with. Find out enough about them that you can answer the question, "Why do you want to work here?" 3) Make a list of questions that you want to ask them at the end of the interview. th-cam.com/video/HTsow0Ug36w/w-d-xo.html

      In that case, it's time to get creative. Think about what you do have to offer. Do you have soft skills or personality traits that would be an asset to employers? Have your teachers said that you are organized, or a quick learner, or that you get along well with people, or anything like that? Can you talk about why you're interested in the job and why you think you'd be a good fit? Do you have responsibilities in your home life that you can talk about - do you spend a lot of time caring for younger siblings, or an elderly relative? Consider brainstorming with your friends, family, and teachers if you're still not sure what to say.

    • @ebrplcareercenter
      @ebrplcareercenter  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You should tell them about who you are as a student - perhaps what your favorite school subject is and why, what academic awards you've achieved, what sorts of clubs and extracurricular activities you were involved in at your previous school, that kind of thing. You may also talk some about who you are outside of school - what do you enjoy doing in your free time, that kind of thing. If at all possible, you will want to include information that will impress them - for example, if it's an academically rigorous school, you could talk about your passion for reading; if it's a religious school, you could talk about volunteering for your church/temple/mosque. (But whatever you say, do not lie.)
      Next, you can talk about your future. What do you plan on doing after you graduate? What do you want to be when you grow up? Do you know if/where you want to go to college, and what do you plan to study?
      Finally, now that you've talked about yourself, it's time to talk about them. Why do you want to attend this school? What do you like about it? (Do some research on the school so you can speak to this.) What will you do as a student of this school? AND MOST IMPORTANT: Why do you think you would be a good fit for the school?
