Theory. Gon is still the strongest. When he made his sacrifice for all his power he could ever have, he was using the paper rock scissors Nen which was scuffed from the get go. He will make a come back with a much better thought out Nen ability and much higher power ceiling

Well, considering that we’ve only touched the surface of the Dark continent and know that a journey to said place is like a death sentence for even the strongest hunters, I think we can assume that there are planet level threats waiting for us the closer we get to the Dark Continent arc.

I will add, his ‘copy’ ability is much better than that, as it’s heavily implied all three abilities he used were created by Leorio. So by getting hit by one of Leorio’s attacks, he was able to learn every single ability of Leorio

Very strange that Ging’s dad was “lost at sea”. Obviously to get to the dark continent you must use a boat. Leads me to believe Ging’s dad is actually Don, whose life was extended drastically by the nitro rice.
Total crackhead theory but what if: Don went to Whale island after he had finished writing the West edition, had a kid, who was Ging.
Don would tell Ging all about his adventures and his travels to the dark continent. He would encourage Ging to leave and become a hunter. He would preach to Ging about the power and discipline that comes from solitude, as being on the dark continent for that long basically guarantees he was alone. This could be the reason Ging believes solitude is discipline and power, which we know he holds this belief and has tried to teach it to Gon. And what if: Don gives the West edition to Ging before his departure from whale island?
Shortly after Ging becomes fully becomes a hunter, Ging’s dad is “lost at sea”. Could it be that Don decided to venture out to the Dark Continent once more, after making sure Ging is strong enough and is a hunter? And that’s why Ging wants to find him so bad? Ging having the west edition could be why he’s so confident in merely tagging along with the expedition, and fully expects to go solo and do his own thing once they arrive there.

You know, the pregnancy stone actually kind of makes sense for one reason why Jean doesn’t really care about his child. If you think about it, he doesn’t really care about gon so makes sense because it was just for a test but he probably just couldn’t kill a child
when we say "Gon's full potential" is that under assumption Gon has learned no other skills and abilities up until this potential point... because could we not argue that if child Gon suddenly improved his nen ability somehow then his potential strength would be stronger... i understand the said full potential could just mean max Nen he ever achieves but i just always thought about that

Yea he gained his peak power, but used the same abilities. Imagine that power on top of nen abilities cultivated through years of experience. Netero couldn't even scratch Pitou or Meruem, Gon's potential is of someone who can thrive on the Dark Continent
Gon equates power to worthiness. I was confused also why he went so hard for Kites death when he “barely knew him” but now that I think about it more I think Gon thought as Kite as his dad’s gift to him. When he first met Kite, Kilua and Gon truly believed Kite was supposed to be their next sensei from Ging but it was the opposite. Ging wanted Gon to come alone and he sent him to an alternative path… “the reject path” Kite’s mission was to find Ging same as Gon.. but regardless of power or journey they both were (for lack of better words) sent to the “reject path” for now. I only say “reject path” because Ging explicitly said “if he’s not man enough to come see me without his little friends then-“ bla bla. Overall Gon’s downfall was his trauma of abandonment.. when Killua said “Ging wanted us to learn under Kite” watch Gon.. he doesn’t believe it.

Pitou wasn’t even strong enough to make Adult Gon fight at full strength. So technically we still haven’t seen the maximum of Gon’s abilities.

Had his opponent been strong enough to put up a fight (like Meruem) and exchange a couple of moves, that’s when we would’ve caught a glimpse of the max strength of that “future self.” So we still don’t know Gon’s limit yet.

Using Meruem as an example, we only saw his max output when Netero pushed him to the edge. Yet his bottom went even further. I think Pitou was just too pitifully weak compared to Adult Gon at that level for us to even see his max output..…..like, she died in two hits.
@@brandonb.6799 I can agree with that to some extent although I would question the whole pitou being weak analogy. In the anime gon says “I’ll use everything”. I believe he simply wanted to kill her instead of defeating her and moving on as she was his main objective. Him not being able to use nen after is proof he used everything. Tho I think he can use nen again the same way wing forced open his nen nodes I feel like they is probably a way to in the best way to describe it “jump start” it again. Such as pouring nen through his nodes etc. if we’re using the whole nen baby theory it is possible since the nen he’s using isn’t his anyway as it would be gings, he’s just a vessel.
I wonder if Don has encounter zobai decease and survived it and that’s why he is still going. Having immortality might make something like exploring the whole dark continent and telling everyone about it in his book possible
Theres a really rare type of rice on the dark continent which extends life span. The Zobai disease causes you to go insane

Two things to wanna talk about for the other viewers. Gins item left behind for gon might not be that special or indication of gings Strengths. Even non nen users are able to leave behind items with nen imbued. But the restrictions placed on showcases gings ben mastery and not power.
Second is chimera ants are rated B but the human chimera ants that learned to used nen should be rated higher.

i feel like being able to be in the dark continent has to do with your intention because all the people that go to the dark continent to take things from it get killed or don’t make it out while people like don who are just trying to learn about it can make books and then leave
I encourage everyone to think about their own Nen-Ability: ITS FUN, to say the least.
But the question is if you can cheat the System (to a reasonable extend) so i ask your thoughts on this: What about a catalyst-ability whose sole purpose it to be Useless and even HIGHLY Restrictive and then multiple more Abilities that all have the teeny tiny Restriction 'Can only be used while the useless Ability is active'. I can think of countles ways how this will not work but a few where it would actually work: You just gotta have 3+ Ability-Slots and the Useles Ability should be Mono-Type but more importantly have Restrictions that 'act on you' as long as its activated or even outright all-the-time. Kurapika, i think, gave me the idea cause i wondered if Emperors Time extreme Cost only helps Emperor Time or them all - and f this is exploitabe! Heres the kicker: Dowsing-Chain is pure Conjuration but its directly stated to get a (Slight) Boost when Kurapika is in Emperor Time, so all you gotta ask is where this comes from. Cause its a slight improvement, it cant be all of Emperor Time's Life-Burning, so the only logical conclusion is some 'left-over' gets to Kurapikas other Hatsu. Guy's, its not rocket-science, all you gotta remember is he decreased his Efficiency to 80% and then up to 100% and all that's on you is remember ""Hey, wait, isnt that how he started as?"
So what i say is throwing Money into a Campfire can be of Benefit for more Abilities
than actually have the Activation-Requirement 'Burn Money'' IF you pull it off.

Something I realized that I don’t see many people talking about is what kite said to gon when they fought their first ant. Something along the lines of “ants can survive a few moments without their heads, don’t let your guard down” and then he saved gon from the ant he thought he killed. To me it’s just a repetition of the same mistake, gon let his guard down again and didn’t die because of killua this time.

I think Gon will return to the story eventually,nen and all,however i think we'll see a much older and more mature version of him than what we left off with in the election arc,one thats had time to reflect on himself and train with his nen for longer,i think he'll be a secondary character there to help Kurapika on his journey through the dark continent,of course getting to punch out some large monsters aswell since i doubt gon will be any other nen type but an enhancer
(Also I like to think Ging took the more fun route with creating Gon by taking some hormone cookies and...yeah,Razor might be Gon's biological father)

I truly hope we get to see story of Hunter Hunter. I can see it going in so many ways were gon has to get his nen back somehow. To it switching to ging traversing the dark continent to even gon and killua going together etc. He wrote em in such a way that he can take the story anywhere and make it fit.

What if he didn't get attacked by those animals because his desire was knowledge and understanding, not greed? Like the island interestingly enough. Maybe that lack of dark Intention, which makes me think of AI, is why he can travel freely or is welcomed like Killua and Alluka.

I truly feel like ging is much stronger than maxed out gon. With what little we’ve seen of his incredible mastery of nen, his copycat technique and physical strength it’s quite possible he would at least be able to hold his own against pre rose Meruem

Gings a specialist. Ability is called Absentee Father. Whenever he is a certain distance from Gon he has 100% of each category scaling down as he gets closer. Don is also his father. No reason they’d say his father was lost at sea and then introduce a character that is known for traveling across the sea and being lost. Why nobody talks about that is beyond me.

Not sure about Gon. This might of been his Apex of power, but not his knowledge. Him kicking kitty into the air might of been a fraction of his strength.
