May Allah Awj give Him and his wife Jannatul Firdaus 🤲🏻 I read actually Road to Mecca and study the Message of the Qur'an.He was a wide open man and very Inspirative...
One of the most influential Muslim scholars of our time. His books, particularly his translation of the Qur'an as 'The Message of the Qur'an' is among the best in English. It took me ten years to complete reading his insightful commentary since it was first published in 1980 and I have benefitted enormously and still continue going back to it often. May Allaah 'azzawajal include this great soldier of Islam among the righteous servants. Aameen yaa Rabb!
Subhan'Allah - awe inspiring message & a great tribute to his life & purpose ❤ May Allah swt bless the great Shaykh with the highest station in Jannatul firdaus Ameen Allahumma Ameen
Assalamu alaikum all. I have been hearing about Muhammad Assad from the child hood though Islamic periodicals and lectures. But only now I came across to watch his vedeo of interview by IIS. What a profound knowledge about Islamic ideology. His each and every answers and explanations were not only enjoyable but also informative. Hope the educated people now a days who slide away from Islam should have listened to his speech at leat once, so that they can strengthen their eeman. May allah swt accept his acts and enter all of us in jannah... Ameen ya Allah.

Muhammad Asad was by no means a scholar! His mother tongue was German - here he speaks English with an Austrian accent - but nevertheless he wrote his books only in English and not in German, but left it to others to translate them into German. His translation of the Koran is flawed and he has included a few things in his commentary that are intolerable. As far as is known, he did not adhere strictly to the rules of the Sharia either. At the end he withdrew from all Muslims and lived among non-Muslims, presumably he was disappointed by the Muslims because they did not want to share his sometimes absurd ideas - a failed Muslim!
Thank you for your comment. Asad never called his 17 years of work a translation. He made this very clear in his foreword. Furthermore, I recommend you leave it to Allah to decide who is a failed Muslim. “And Allah knows best.”
Hmmm let's see Muhammad Asad *Learnt the teachings of Islam from the most eminent of scholars in madina from 1926 to 1932 *Went to Pakistan and was persuaded by dr allama Muhammad Iqbal to stay and make a separate homeland for the muslims to protect their identity *Successfully made an independent state (alhamdulilah) *Was in charge of recreating Islamic values in the newly established state *Represented Pakistan in the UN and stood for the muslim identity *Wrote an amazing essay "Islam at crossroads" urging the muslims of the world not to sell out their identity to the western ideology and displayed the superiority of the sharia over the western system *Wrote an amazing Quranic translation (keep in mind that arabic language can never be translated one to one in English, hence the recitation of surahs in english is prohibited as the meaning is never fully transmitted) *Has the only street in austria named after a muslim name,(also the only street on austria named Muhammad) Fear Allah before taling about matters you know nothing of, go read a book and educate yourself.... May Allah guide us all.
Yes...I really love his Quran translation. Till up to this day, I love his commentary as it provides a deep understanding of the Quran verses. But do you know any reasons as to why his translation is banned by the Salafis in Saudi Arabia? @@abdaalahmad5483
I am sure by “Failed” you meant Failed Pakistan and its identity. Filled with corruption, dirty politics, under developed nation with no domestic security, fighting in the name of religion Shia-Sunni . These are of course the people who failed Mohd Asad and Iqbal’s vision.
