Great tips, much appreciated! I've noticed in many of your video''s, when you are in a combat instance, you bring up a menu that shows the ships you're up against. What key command is that?
I want to get into crafting my own ship, you think for a new player like me at post captain, should i be focusing on that path?if ever how can i start, currently at 6k doubs and farming reales aint a problem for me
Yeah you can start making your own light ships at that rate. If you want to take advantage of port bonuses, you’ll need to join a clan that is on the friendly clans list of the shipbuilding port you’d like to craft at. The first shipyard costs 10k doubloons I believe, and the lvl 2 shipyard that lets you build frigates costs 25k doubloons.
Excellent video again, really helpful. Couple of wee questions. 1) Do crafting hours remain at 1000 per day for all players for the lifetime of the game or do they increase as you level up crafting levels? 2) Are permits a completely random event or can you work towards achieving them? Cheers
Thank you! You are correct - you get more crafting hours per day as you level up. Some of the more “common place” permits can be purchased in the Admiralty store in any national port, but some of the rarer ones are only found in rare cases like these chests or off ships you sink.
@@MichaelSharp667 : cheers for that, one other, the rum and repairs, can you manufacture them by crafting in port or do you just have to buy them? I thought maybe the workshop skill might be linked to it? Thanks again.
Hey Michael, question for you: If you purchase Labour Hours from the Admiralty store, for say an extra 500 hours, do they permanently stay and keep regenerating or are these hours a one off thing? You get a straight 500 hours and once they are gone they are gone? Cheers for all your help. I am now a Flag Captain and soon to be a commodore. I really like the game and have lost more days already playing it than I could ever admit LOL.
@@MichaelSharp667 Thanks for that, pretty expensive really. Glad I never went ahead with it. What is the maximum Labour Hours you reach when you are fully upgraded in crafting? is it about 3000 hours max? An idea for a videos to add to your planned schedule: It would be very worthwhile looking at armour thickness versus gun caliber/penetration and the effects of angling. So, could a 12lb Long Cannon penetration 72 inch armour thick hull? What angles will produce a bounce. Why is Live Oak/White Oak better than Fir/Fir. This would be mega useful as a new start. Cheers.
You know, I honestly don’t k ow that answer. I am not that big of a crafter and haven’t gotten my crafting to max since the game launched. I would assume it’s 2000 or 3000!
Every once in awhile you will get fancy swivel guns or other cannons, but it is a random occurrence. The 6th Rate missions described in this video were recently removed by the developers so unfortunately you can’t get “speed” chests anymore. If you find a good place to hunt ai in the open world, you should be able to fulfill “hunt” and “search and destroy” missions relatively quickly and get chests that way.

Just adding a call out to Felix Victor for the Netifly site which obviously didn't get there by accident.
Agreed this is an amazing site that definitely deserves some praise to its creator!
Great tips, much appreciated!

Thank you for the support! The key to see the combatants list is “Tab”. Hope that helps!

Yes you can craft all repairs at any port you have a workshop in.

Yes it is a one off thing. Once you use it, it replenishes 500 hours that go away once you use them.
I agree! Crazy how addicting the game is!

@@MichaelSharp667 It is 3000 but wit the overseer perk it does up to about 3,600, something like that
