    Great job! You work on homes and I mostly work on vacation rental condos here in Maui. I recently had a unit from the 60’s that I did a floor on. It had green carpet with linoleum under that, then peel and stick tiles over another coat of linoleum. It came up pretty easy but took me three truck loads to the dump ( not in my bid ). I had to charge them a little extra but the client was happy and that’s all that matters.
    This job, like so many others turned into much much more work. I got kitchen and bathroom cabinets, baseboard and a variety of lighting added on afterwards. Love our trade!!!

      If you’re not too proud to change out a toilet or swap ceiling fans in between bigger jobs one can stay busy. I feel like my prices are close to yours but I’m slowly creeping up because it’s so expensive to live out here. This is my 15th year on the rock and I have no intention of leaving anytime soon. I live right across the street from Kamaole Beach II and all my work is pretty much in a 5 mile radius.
      Hit me up when you’re out here and the misses and I will take you and the wife to our favorite lunch spot. I play tour guide all the time for my mainland friends.

    FYI: the “standard” cup of coffee & tea is about 6 oz.... Think of the ppl who who walk into a place to get their morning coffee & they have their usual 64 oz cup 🤣(of course, I can’t say much.....as I have an insulated “cup” that I use for work & it’s about 128 oz 😉; the BEST cup I own, as it keeps things hot/cold for 8+ hrs! My ONLY complaint, doesn’t fit into ANY cup holder😂)
    Just love when you speak Chipmunk 🤣, it’s just so so funny👍🏻.
    Really nice work. Hope some of your clients watch your vids & see the detail & pride that you out into every job you’re on. Shows us how you care about your work & that you have some “good ethics” there..... Sad to say, that some ppl are there to get the job done as fast as possible, regardless of “how well” things will last/hold up over time; & just want the paycheck😔. Then they complain to anyone who will listen that they can never seem to get any referrals or repeat customers....Umm, duh😅.
    As always, waiting on next vid to see the magic you create. Have a good one 🤜🏻🤛🏼

    I love the idea of recessing the fridge. I did it for a designer once. Beats the heck out of a “counter depth” refrigerator that cost more and hold less. If you can spare the space it makes for a nice custom look. Even better if you can steal the space back on the other side for a built-in or shelf.

    Are any of the layers of floor of the age where asbestos would be a concern? The original portion of our house was built in 1942 and there are several layers of floor in the kitchen. The top level is an engineered hardwood but under that there is an old linoleum. We had that tested and the linoleum itself doesn’t contain asbestos but the adhesive for it does. Expanded the scope of our kitchen renovation a bit

    Hi a little question- i saw that you can with bit of leverage pry two pieces of wood that are attached by nails. Is the same thing possible with say 2 3 inch nails? (Probably grip of 2 inches into the material...). I have an old closet here built from plywood. And its solid. Wanted to take it down. Should i pry the panels? Or cut with jigsaw?

    • @TheHandyman1
      @TheHandyman1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the wood will break apart when pulling. If it looks like its going to break something that you don't want broken then I suggest a carbide blade in the vibrating tool I used to cut the holes in the drywall.
